Actually, the coolest part of that quote was left out.

QUOTE
Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "On
this day, we send out our thanks. Returned to us has come the Ancestral Glade,
and in it, Eredhion, Caretaker of Moonharts."
Eredhion, Caretaker of Moonharts says, "Have you seen all the spirit moonharts
in this glade? This is where the moonharts grow first in spirit, before they
take their place in the world of physical existence. And we, this gathering of
spirits, take it as our duty to nurture the spirit moonharts' growth."

Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "As all
Druids of Nature have, he has walked in the footsteps of our predecessor,
Glinshari."
Eredhion, Caretaker of Moonharts says, "I, a druid in life, walked in
Glinshari's footsteps, much like every other druid save those corrupted by
taint."

The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.

Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "Let
each of us hope to walk this path, to have this fate."

Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "Honor!
To dine with the Ancestors!"

Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "To die
for the Wilde! To live for the White Hart! Born solely to tend Nature!"

Midnight shadows coalesce around a new day, and Mother Night embraces the land
in utter darkness.
It is now the 12th of Dvarsh, 183 years after the Coming of Estarra.

Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "Let
this alone be our purpose! Let this alone be our guide! Let each who hear the
name of the Hartstone, COWER! For we are the Druids of the White Hart!"

Ember of the Ancestors, Kalodan Faechild, Hierophant of the Wildes says, "Slow
is our anger, sharp are our minds! Fearsome is our wrath, and noble, ALWAYS,
NOBLE is our purpose!"

You gasp with the realization that Stephenos has reached the level of
Impregnable.
Your karma rises in response to your deeds.
Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have
advanced to level 68.
Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have
advanced to level 69.
Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have
advanced to level 70.
Your soul cries out in ecstasy as it reaches new heights of power. You have
advanced to level 71.
You have reached the illustrious level of Deified.
You have received 10 Bound Credits!
Your spirits are uplifted by the rite, and you feel that you have learned
something.
You gasp with the realization that Raiha has reached the level of Paramortal.
You gasp with the realization that Nerra has reached the level of Celestial.
You gasp with the realization that Iasius has reached the level of Epic.

Wow, I am speechless. I log in and see "You have new messages", so I read them out. Turns out that someone let us say gave me quite a gift, of which I the player am very grateful.

But in the end this creates on me an inner conflict, cause I'm pretending (character) to be an ungrateful, brown-nosing parasite. Whom by the way seldom gives thanks, such is the magnitude of my perversion. But this instance along with one experienced long ago gets me torn between expressing gratitude or not ig.

This is the best I could think of to express gratitude and mitigate the gnawing:

Thanks Nariah and Tully, both of you are splendid folks!

... I dedicate this music to you The Morrow (such sweet melody and on the harp! Sublime.)

This is actually TWO raves!

First a wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif to Roark for fixing stomp and grapples and giving us crunch!

Second a wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif to Estarra - and anyone else involved in it - for that awesome cloak! I've wanted a tailoring item like that from day one!! (And now I just need to find people who want to lose a dice game to me ohyeah.gif )

You twist Kithe's right leg with a staghorn blade inlaid with a silvery rack of
antlers, locking it up.
The shofa hooks Kithe's leg, sending him tumbling.
You exclaim, "Raging Bull Pins the Wolf Down!"

By the way, admin, good job with Ironbeard. Some people are still a little miffed by him, but he's like 50 times less stress inducing than the gnomes usually are.
Diamondais2007-08-13 15:22:49
Ironbeard is amusing when you see him, better than the gnomes.
Shamarah2007-08-13 15:24:03
I liked the gnomes more because I could actually do something to get a present from them =/

I like the concept of Ironbeard a lot. Assuming this goes on a while longer so everyone has a chance at at least one visit, it should be a heck of a lot better than Gnomes were (in which some people would get 10+ by racing around, and most others would be stuck with none).

Precisely. The gnomes were kind of frustrating because you had to put effort into finding them, and often that effort would be in vain. This way, even if you don't get a present (I did, pretty terrible one though - but I'm not complaining!) - you didn't waste a lot of time and effort looking for them.

Also, I remember last year I was really sad because I screwed up and was so worked up I complimented one instead of begging. Luckily Vix rescued it for me later, which was sweet of her, but yeah. None of that with Ironbeard. So, wub.gif admin for that innovation.
Kharaen2007-08-13 16:09:08
The randomness is messed up though. You've got some people with 5 visits, and others (like me!) with 0. I like that everyone has a chance to get a visit, but it's theoretical and I'd have had better luck with gnomes.

I've had worse luck with gnomes-- because I've spent hours trying to catch gnomes to find none, whereas with Ironbeard I can do whatever else I want with the knowledge that if he's going to come for me, he'll come find me wherever I am. Doesn't waste any time at all.

Though I haven't got a visit from him yet, I'm hopeful it's just a matter of time.
Unknown2007-08-13 17:28:48
Ironbeard...

If he's anything like Achaea's, then yeah, he rocks!

People here complain about being visited by him or not that all I can say is: careful that dwarf could be right behind you right this very instant, he knows when you've been good and bad, he knows your thoughts... He wants you, he wants to surprise you!

Though chances exist that being the drunkard he is, he has just fallen unconscious just when he was about to jump you.

I must add though, that if he is anything like Achaea's his visitations are probably entirely random. I for example logged in Achaea this weekend, after being dormant, and just as I was leafing somewhere on the treetops... out of nowhere that psychopathic dwarf appears! Almost gave me a heart attack.

He's sneaky, so beware... He may just be waiting for you to fall asleep.

Agree

I've logged 6+ hours sitting waiting for my credits and no visit yet.
