How does a piece of wood with runes attack people?

Do you know that for over 3 RL years Statues and Totems have been the bane of my existence?

They censor.gif'd me with DOC and they got me thrown out of Celest.

I dodged the statues for a month but Forren asked me to help him with something and led me into a statue after Munsia ratted my membership out in exchange for brownie points

Good times..

wait no.

Edit:
I remember you posting almost the exact same thing when I got exposed in Celest. There's no intrigue to mechanically proving something. Instead of RPing out a trial or something Forren just said "AHA HE IS A MORGY FOLLOWER;outcitizen;enemy gg"

Boring

What never ceases to amaze me is how people who choose to RP a certain thing seem to think that they should be able to dictate how people respond to that RP. Just because you think what you're doing is amazing and interesting doesn't mean other people have to. Nor does it mean other people are required in any way whatsoever to bend over backwards to accomodate the RP you decided on your own to do. If you want RP to go a certain way then you should probably involve other people OOCly in your planning in order to get the scripted response you're lookign for.

Why would a trial be held? Is a trial held for anything else? You're proven to be a traitor, you get kicked out. I know there is one person in Celest who has been (don't know if they still are) a servant of a tainted god for decades and has managed to avoid detection or prosecution, served in high positions, a member of the leadership clan, etc. So it can be done.

What he's saying is that it was a very lame way for him to be found out after 3 years of work, for a game mechanic to do it rather than a person.

You totally missed the point.

I don't have a problem with getting kicked out when I'm proven.

I'm annoyed when the proof comes from the mechanic and nowhere else.

It's an RP inhibitor and always has been. The trial was just an example of something you could do. Or just have a meeting with an accuser, whatever. I'm saying there's no RP to shoving someone into statues to test them.

It's a repeated pattern that's boned me a few times off and on for three years and I'm sure many others. It's annoying and it makes no sense for statues to magically know.

He said Munsia reported him so apparently someone else knew for Forren to even trick him into walking into the totem. I guess I just don't see the problem. It's kind of like being upset that someone finds out what family you're part of because they use family tree. Or find out you did a quest because they do a full honours on you. Or finds out you've killed mobs in a certain area because they can attack you without declaring. How do I even know someone's actual name when I haven't been introduced? It seems an odd thing to be upset about given how much information we acquire through no actual RP or effort.

It's just game mechanics. If you want to be sneaky about something, you RP around them. For example I know of one person who served a banned god once that just didn't join that order officially. Simply took orders directly from the god. If your character knows that totems can magically detect your allegiance to certain organizations, then your character should know to take precautions against those magics if they don't want to be found out.

You shock an aslaran tribeswoman with tales of terror bestowed on villages who don't follow Magnagora.
An aslaran tribeswoman slaps her knee and declares that, by the gods, the Village of Shanthmark should follow the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora after all!
Shouts rise up from the Village of Shanthmark, as its denizens loudly pledge themselves to the Mighty Dominion of Magnagora.

New area. Good place to hunt for midgame players who are sick and tired of aslaran/krokani but aren't buff enough to take on gorgogs yet.

It even gives gold!

QUOTE
You kneel humbly before Raziela the Loving Radiance, and vow to cherish and love
all, and to teach compassion to the poor and misguided. A radiant pink light
shimmers blindingly in the air and envelops you.

Raziela the Loving Radiance exclaims, "My heart cries out in elation, Kiradawea!
We will form a deep bond so that we may better all the Planes by spreading our
shared, radiant love!"

Raziela the Loving Radiance sheds tears of pure joy as she gazes into your eyes.
Your soul aches from the pure rapture of your all-encompassing love, and you
feel a bond form between your kindred souls.

Angelic choirs sing of the unbreakable love of Kiradawea, with whom Raziela has
formed a deep bond to cherish and love all.
QUOTE
You proudly raise your arms over your head and pray to Raziela the Loving
Radiance. A bright light shines down upon you, and a radiant symbol of love
shimmers into existence within your outstretched hands.

I have finally gotten "Symbol". As in, the real deal symbol. Finally, finally, FINALLY. I'm so happy I could scream. wub.gif

That is his (current) general tactic... I guess it's fun for the Druid, but not for anybody else.
