Did a bit of farmer rescuing like usual, and after getting away in plain site, had a refreshingly exhilarating verbal spar with a new Ninjakari.

QUOTE
Nanteen tells you, "You will know capitan. When I rip off your face from your dead corpse and throw you over the Sea."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "And the reason for this anger is...?"

Nanteen tells you, "I catch you stealing slaves from Acknor again, and I'll have your bloody head."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "You don't think I've succeeded in rescuing farmers for over 60 years by being caught, now do you?"

Nanteen tells you, "I catch you hear or heard you were here, you will think twice before freeing our slaves."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "No, I won't. You see, you drug and kidnap free farmers, I go and rescue them. That is how it works, and how it will always work. And your petty attempts at threats are in no way going to change that."

Nanteen tells you, "No matter, you've been warned."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "Many times by your people. You all must have nothing better to do than repeat yourselves."

Nanteen tells you, "I'm a new face on the block Capitan. I'm not the others. Just ask your fellow kinsmen."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "You are doing a poor job of scaring me, little thing."

Nanteen tells you, "I hardly care if I scare you or not. Tree hugging fool. Go back to your forests and squirrels."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "Been a pleasure slipping out under your nose. Hope to do it again sometime. Until next time, little one, don't get hurt playing with your toys."

Nanteen tells you, "Your bluffs are more pathetic than your feeble attempts."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "You and I must have a different definition of bluff. A bluff is a deception. I have laid out plainly what I intend to do."

Nanteen tells you, "((Damn I like your character!)) Bluffing is a fickle thing. You're bluffing right now. I tend to smell fools from a great distance and I can see through your game."

You tell Kyoodai Nanteen, "((Thanks, yours is quite an imposing presence as well)) Game? Then the next moves shall unfold in an interesting pattern, I'm sure."

With a final spasm, Nanteen dies, collapsing into a mound of charred and smoking

Subj: DMP changes

The Envoys have been working with me to review the changes caused by the
introduction of our DMP weighting system. I'm happy to say that I think
these changes will help smooth over some of the bumps caused by DMP, and
that they will in general help make combat in Lusternia more balanced.

- Stun times are, on average, shorter (and somewhat more variable)

- Writhe times are, on average, longer

- Tumble times have a broader scale, which means that:
- For small races, your tumble will be faster
- For large races, your tumble will be slower

- The DMP weighting scale has been raised for the lowest tier. Your
first 20 points of resistance of any given type will not be weighted,
rather than the first 10.

- The DMP weighting now calculates values to a tenth of a percent,
rather than rounding off at whole numbers. This means you will notice a
more gradual increase in your resistances if your resistances are
weighted, rather than having to wait until the next whole number to see
any difference.

I'd like to thank our hard-working envoys who did a lot of testing with
me on these issues, and who compiled the suggestions from which these
changes were drawn and inspired. I believe their feedback has made this
a very balanced set of changes. Thanks Envoys!

Subj: Void

Lo did the players suffer, for the chains of the parasite of the
dreaming was inflicted most brutally through random mental afflictions.
The wailing of babes and the gnashing of teeth did reach my ears in the
lofty havens, and I did hear them, for ever am I a merciful coder. No
longer do random mental afflictions cause vile parasitic infestations of
dreams, and verily did the people know it was good.

But wait, cried the Dreamweavers! For they who created the parasites did
realize that they fizzled as mundane stupidity rather than their full
parasitic glory. Nay, nay, thrice nay, I said! By my will to power, the
Dreamweavers do rightfully manifest parasites of the dreaming with their
void powers, and there was much rejoicing (except among their victims).

(Summary:
- Random mental afflictions no longer cause void.
- Dreamweaving void does cause void.
- Void remains unchanged )
