A chattering of high-pitched voices preceeds the entrance of the Norns in a
tumble of bodies.

Norns gives a divinely wrapped present to you.

You tilt your head curiously.

You perk your ears up as an errant topic catches your interest.

The Norns, Administrators of Fate say in unison, "Congratulations, Xiel."

You thank Norns profusely.

Pushing and shoving each other, the Norns disappear in a tumble of bodies.

You peer about yourself unscrupulously.

You quickly unwrap a divinely wrapped present, which sprays glittering silver
dust and cheerful confetti into the air, and excitedly pull a shimmering, silver
bubble pipe from within.

Yay for influence events. Yay for presents. Yay for the Divine. wub.gif

Is there any documentation for how the event works?

I sort of figured out by a combination of trial and error and asking a whole bunch of people (including the gods, who ignored me) until somebody answered, that you can't influence guards or villages (my normal bread and butter) but I had no idea or way to find out other than by wasting time if aetherbubbles worked, or other off-plane places, or any kind of guide for the point system.

Are there any quirks you could help me out with for next time?

Somebody said "it's like Harmony" but I couldn't find any documentation IG for Harmony either, the closest to anything useful was HELP WORLDGAMES, which wasn't very useful at all.

Congratulations on winning though! It's cool how they give out prizes here.

The Influence event works in such a manner that for everything you influence successfully, you gain a certain measure of points which range from 5 or so for the weaker entities and 25 or so for the toughest folk. The Harmony event is exactly like an Influence event except a lot more people participate and try to kill and/or shatter you since the prizes there are worth a lot more than this one game. Aetherbubbles do indeed work and are worth a bit more, but, unless you're a Commander or have a Commander friend, getting to each one would take up time and some people camp at bubbles just for the specific reason to kill would-be influencers. Hmm..that should cover most of it. A general guide line to go by for influencing is that, the tougher something is to kill normally, the more points it would be worth to kill it for a Death event or to influence it for a Harmony event.

Influence kepheras. There's like a million of them. Or seduce illithoids, which is insanely easy and likely worth big points.

Lies. I tried guards and villagers and that didn't work.
And the best thing I found on prime was worth 5 sad.gif I was doing a lot of 2s.

I guess I need to try to find how to get into the undervault, if kephera and illithoids are that good ^^.

Thanks, folks. I appreciate the help.

Loyals to orgs aren't worth points.

I won an FFA at last.. I think this might be the very first FFA I won.. Although, I got 10 master palettes which i dont know what to do about.. people tell me its for tarot users and the like.. Im grateful, but still wish i had like lanfayrs 100cr dagger from the quiz.. or even one pipe ohyeah.gif

a city mate got angry cause i blasted him out.. what can i do, its an FFA and i got tired of standing alone.. confused.gif

I was hoping I get to fight rika cause she kept attacking me.. but daedalion got her first.. and then recessional (i think) defeated him..

its a good thing most systems havent coded properly against it. Its very easy to code against as it only took one line to recessional proof my system.. and nope, not gonna tell what i did.. freaked.gif

Nejii steps towards a diamond vial and places her hands on it, sending a shower
of silvery leaves cascading around her as the branches grow brittle and dry from
the strain. Pale silvery moonlight swirls around her and the air fills with the
thrumming of power. The shimmering, ethereal forms of the Great Spirits briefly
fill the air around a diamond vial, chief among them Mother Moon and the White
Hart, as Nejii is suffused by incredible powers, and rises as a Vernal
Ascendant!
A new Ascendant rises! By decree of Seneschal Zia and with full support of the
Moonhart Circle, let it be known that the Collective of Serenwilde has this day
imbued Nejii with the energies of the Moonhart Mother Tree, raising a Vernal
Ascendant!

All hail the....diamond vial. biggrin.gif

At least it had enough style to go diamond, and not...just a vial.

Gratz, Nubby!

my rave is the broadcasting center quest, it had so many different aspects to it. In my oppinion one of the best quests up until now (except maybe the soulforge one as I do not know what that involves)

I hope celest and Serenwilde will not ban it, the effect is not that devestating.
Shiri2008-03-09 11:41:49
Out of curiosity, what aspects of it do you think make it well-designed?

essentially it involves almost everything, influencing, killing, puzzles and a scavenger hunt while not being overly long or boring. And most importantly it did not make me feel overly stupid like certain other quests sad.gif
