This. Nevermind that the Vira shrines are the ones covering all the pertinent areas that get defended the most in Ethereal and the nexus world, so they are a lot more likely to see use. If any Glom feels cheated when they see other people walking around with virtually constant true favours, do keep in mind that harvesting over 2.8 million essence over the last cycle got me a 5 month highfavour, which I am enjoying immensely. The truefavours just aren't always there. If you aren't surpassing that in any tangible way, no whining for you.
I just realised how much the people in my order hunt/offer.
*sway*

Well, I'm not really sure I agree. Nocht was giving TrueFavours within a week, as I remember it. Just need to go out of your way to bash up millions of essence a day for her.
Not really a time thing, just an effort-thing.

Sure it is, if you don't play everyday, and on the days you do, only for a few hours or so.
Oh, and a little rave for people who actually want me to go hunting with me. I don't bite, seriously, sometimes people just have to ask.

That is, unfortunately, the side effect of "going out of your way." You miss out on all kinds of RL important-things in order to watch text-numbers climb. Woo.

Aethermobs were giving ridiculous experience for about a day, revan cashed in on the mess-up and got Demi. Wish I had an aethercraft so I could cash in on the easy-Demi
He also gave Thoros the karmic curse of harmony, waited until it would give him 100% of thoros's experience, then went aetherbashing.
But since that's not a rave! This is a rave:
Meliana. Your post to Celestines made me feel very warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm almost positive the admins have said something about using the harmony curse like that is abuse

Using the Harmony curse isn't abuse. The Admin who say it is need to look back and realize the mechanics of it. It's a curse that steals XP...
Cursing a friend and having him bash the xp is pretty much the same thing as cursing an enemy who bashes, but is too negligent to remove the curse.
Abuse? I think not. Remove/change the effect if you don't want it to work that way, but frankly, the Admin had sewn their own seed regarding the matter. There is NO written rule anywhere that states "You cannot use karma curses on allies", so frankly, I'm in the right here. Either way I took their "punishment" gracefully and still got demi with a 30 day karma ban (which, again, I could easily have the admin shot down for, but I'm a gracious enough guy).
Stop being jealous and pouty. No abuse or cheating happened. I merely used abilities that are available to the widespread population that chose not to use it.
Any other questions, Aison Envygreen?

Luckily for everyone else, the admins are the ones who decide what is and what isn't abuse. I am pretty sure at least one of them has said that using harmony blessings on friends just for quick xp is indeed abuse. No point trying to argue it. Stop thinking you're all that, because you're not.
Doman2008-08-14 20:21:15
...Common sense overrules written rules, Revan. Didn't they add a drain to it JUST so people wouldn't do that? What does that say to you? It's obvious that it's not the intent.

I do not have a link handy but back in my early days of mudding I played something called gemstone III, some of you might have heard of it (I think it is up to 4 now). In any case a major group of players there all did something basically identical to this, using a "debuff" meant for a pvp type situation on each other to gain a boost to exp (and it was a very minor boost). When the admin found out about it every single one of them was permanently banned from the game. This game had a monthly fee by the way so it directly affected the games revenue stream (we are talking 20+ players).
To each their own I suppose!
My rave is both that lusternia is not pay per month AND we get free events! (the "events" on gemstone cost extra money, I kid you not).

But wouldn't that be equavalent to a friend letting you kill him for xp? It doesn't duplicate the xp, it just passes it from one person to the other.

At least in Achaea this was a shrubable offense, I lost a good secretary to this in fact. No clue about here but I would assume it is a no-no as well.
The key question to ask yourself is "how does everyone else gain exp" if the answer is "not this way" you might want to issue yourself first to be sure. At least that is how I operate.

I'm pretty sure you lose more than the person gains if you die.
