Overall, I think inquisition is a little to easy for guardians to pull of, because it basically means the end of a fight. Still, I wouldn't say it's overpowered, any more than things like transmigrate.
It takes 3 skills, good timing, 12 power, and high enough discipline that you get the extra 2 power before the glowing stops. Its nowhere close to easy. Nor is it the end of a fight, back when I was aqua and I didn't know anything about the skills, I was inquisitioned 5 times, and it only killed me once.

Which is why I said it wasn't any more overpowered than things like transmigrate...it might take a lot of resources, but it doesn't take much in the way of skill to kill with inquisition.

That means the person you were fighting did not really know what they were doing. I've never survived inquisition. It's possible, if you're very skilled (and/or very tanky), but inquisition is about as sure of a kill as toadcurse is.

I really can't believe Celest is trying to say they're equal or even WORSE than mag skillwise.
First- Guardians-
Nihilists-easily worst guardian/wiccan class
-instakills?>Hardest one to pull off, crucify? You kiddin me? I've had scabies, chills aeon and been crucified, I could still cure out of it... It's not that great (it is nice in group combat though)
Soulless, moot since both have it.
Hindering shackles... Nice!
Scabies/Etc... w/e
Now.. Celestians
instakills?
Soulless,
Judgement 5 power for 10 second instakill timer
Absolve >>>>>>>> Sacrifice
Hindering?
Vapors!!!!!!! I don't care what you say, vapors is as good as shackles easily in hindering, not to mention it's incredible offensively.
Now, Aqua v. Geos..
Geo's
Stonewall, nice, nice
Rubble, okay.. but swimming=rubble easily, except rubble doesn't automatically block every exit.
Stunning, proning, not bad, chasm is nice too, an overall good class.
AQUAS (IMO the most OP class atm)
CURRENTS- NEED TO BE REMOVED, uneccesary, kills groups, sucks people into a demesne >>>>> any other single demesne effect.
Whirlpool-wtf? Why do aquas have this!? we already have to swim around, now we just randomly get stuck.. this is ridiculous, also needs to be removed.
Stun needlerain etc. forces people to swim around, okay good stuff.
Bubble=statue pretty much
Warriors.. trueheal>all offense. It gets you out of anything! Nico shut up, if you didn't have trueheal you wouldn't survive anyone, it makes up for all your weak curing. the rest isn't very useful, but their spec class ROCKS.
Ur'guard-Lich, a little weaker than trueheal, but it's nice still. Putre can be great for bashing, as well as group combat. Spec race SUCKS. lvl 3 sip weakness anybody?
These two classes are probably the closest to balanced.
Even if I didn't make sense.. This is all you need to know.. Currents makes celest OP, and Narsrim is insanely biased as envoy.

For those of you like me who don't read these threads since they pretty much say the same things over and over, I'll summerize:
Celest: Hm, wow. We're not getting owned like we have been the past year and a half. Must have been the months of changing from the inside-out.
Everyone else (with a few exceptions): Oh my god, there is no way those Celestian punks can do this! They MUST have divine help! Estarra plays a Celestine alt (that was my favorite, by the way)! Celest players have always and will always be inferior to everyone else because that's just the way it is! Anything else doesn't stroke my ego.
Heaven forbid anyone give a little credit to the people in Celest who have worked very hard to instil a fighting spirit in the players. It used to be "Oh, an enemy! Let's hug him to death." Now things have changed and everyone wants to get their whine in.

Explain to me how that celest gets the best skills and the most help?? They suck yes, but why do the divine beef them up to the point of insanity???
Makes people wonder
Try and pass and insane skill upgrade to any other city/commune... gues who will veto it.... celest 'nuff said

I'm fairly certain this was addressed already, though as I said, I don't fully read these threads. Something about downgrades for mag and they left the Celest skills alone.

Once I researched the skills, I was never inquisitioned again.

A few vital defenses? What do you consider to be a few vital defenses? Most useful defenses are expensive or take time to put up, and without them it's very difficult to be effective in a fight.
I would do insomnia, kafe, the regen enchants, thirdeye, frost potion, and athletics resistance if you have it. All of that can be done without consuming balance. Then, if your underwater put up waterbreathe and waterwalk, and if your outdoors levitation would be a good idea. So you see, the most 'useful' defenses are actually the easiest to raise. When fighting a Celestine your full arsenal of damage reducing defenses isn't very important.

Actually, I remember plenty of threads, consistently over a long period of time, saying "Celest's skills are imbalanced, but fortunately they don't have the organizational will to use them properly, or the game would be seriously screwed up".
If people now say "Celest's skills are imbalanced, and since they've changed from the inside and have the organizational will to use them properly, now the game is seriously screwed up," that is both completely consistent with what they were saying all along; in no way denying the accomplishment of Celest to rebuild itself from within; and not even vaguely related to self-ego-stroking.
There are also people who are stroking their egos and being entirely inconsistent. If you posited that sitting down in a comfortable chair can rest your legs, half the forum would explode in a fury of self-ego-stroking denials and flaming. That proves nothing for or against anything, and pointing it out doesn't prove or disprove anything, either. The only thing that would is actually addressing the specific claims.
What am I saying? Actually addressing specific claims? On this forum? I better check my house for paint fumes.

I wholeheartedly agree with Gwylifar. This thread probably did come about because Mag is losing, but that doesn't mean there aren't valid complaints. I'll come right back you with the idea that now that Celest is winning, many from it think that everything is very balanced and everyone else is just whining babies. (I'm overgeneralizing of course).
Anyways, I STILL don't think you can compare lich vs. sacrafice for all of Celest vs. Mag. Why is it fair that certain groups have NO other way of being rezzed when others do? It's not really. I dont really care at this point because it's been so long, but I think that's just one example of a complaint that isn't just "wah wah Celest is beating us."

For communists, SPIRITBOND NATURE works really good. It gives you your leap, sprint, and climb for getting away, waterbreathe and fear immunity for not dying, all in one balance.

I will point out that Celest's bards are the worst by far of the four guilds for solo combat. They have a few skills that are absurd in a group situation, but so do most guilds.

Heh, I may not be the greatest fighter in the realms, but I imagine I've fought more Celestians than you have through the years.
EDIT: More to the point, though, Thoros grew to be a strong fighter, but he wasn't always great, and I've known several people to survive his inquisitions when he didn't prep for them correctly. Try fighting someone like Amaru instead.

*cough*
Ahem. Right, I did admit that my healing isn't top notch when facing druids, but I haven't bothered fixing it cause I've been busy IRL for quite some time now (hence the absence from IG). I've said that from the get-go. However, that aside, I've beaten many, many people without using trueheal (including Tuek, Shamarah, and other top fighters). , the only times I ever find myself needing it is in group combat, or against a druid. Don't take shots at me cause you're bitter you lost.
In the end, trueheal, as far as I used it, was purely defensive. The fight could've gone on until I ran out of power, but it didn't. I killed you before then.
And this is coming from a blacktalon, no less? Dreamweaving too, correct? Come now. I'd rather fight any celestine (minus amaru) than any blacktalon with dreamweaving. From my personal experience, your demense is the hardest to cope with.
