I wont be arguing.
But grass is greener on other side is very true.
I will just use my exeprience.

I started as Celestine, but i was totally owned by warriors (maybe it was becose i was merian with crapy health) so i switched to warriors, soon after that as Ethelon posted people learned how to use inquisition and Celestines were badass guild. And warriors wasnt so easy as i though. But after lesson lose i had to adopt and i started to learning how to fight as warrior. And i was quite good after some time. Then i saw Deavos and few other Purebladers and was wow, they can kill so easly so i switched and guess what? It didnt wasnt so easy as i though, after learning how to fight as pureblader i was decent but it wasnt becose of good skills, it was becose i had to learn how to use thos skills.
After a while psionics mags owned everyone and i wanted to change guil so i switched again and again i was disapointed, it wasnt easier to kill as mage then as paladin.

So to summarise.
Its all about your own skills not you char skills.
And advice from me?
Try harder!

I'm neither mag nor Celest, and I definately think that Celest has far better skills.
And Nico, I'm not bitter about losing (even though it was because you came and jumped me while I was looking at a trigger)

And note-
You're curing is clearly weak, you were easily hindered by just my demesne, it's not because you can't cure sap, it's because you can't cure at all.

Whats really sad is alot of us are talking about leaving Magnagora, some retiring, or just giving up all together on this realm. I personally was about to call it quits again, but I became envoy so stuck around, but you can only take so much bs from the circumstances before losing all hope.

Even tonight a few of us talked about just up and leaving...it really is a nightly talk almost amongst alot of us in Magnagora.

ethelon welcome to celest over the past 2 ooc years smile.gif

you should do what we did, get off our arses do something about it making something of ourseleves

Me, Malarious, Stagar and Sferys are doing quite well in making up combo's, what to do in situations, etc.

Now if we can only motivate others, then we'll be something Celest will fear most kiss.gif

And I should really stop crying out whenever I'm being kick ass glare.gif

Ethelon.. haven't you always changed org and guild with extraordinary regularity? Isn't the moaning above simply part of the Ethelon life cycle, and the inevitable prelude towards another switch? The warrior class in Magnagora whines too much, and has always done so. So and get on with it. And if you can't, bugger off and stop depressing everyone else.

In Nico's defense, Blacktalon demesne is absolutely ridiculous.

TRUTH

I hear a lot of back and forth banter.

I must point out however, there are quite of us familiar with the ins and outs of combat that predicted such a long time ago, midway in Lusternia's first year. I specifically remember Daevos and I, and a couple others as well, relating how it would only be a matter of time before celest utilizes their superior skills and takes command of the basin.
Veonira2006-11-07 14:36:21
Yes.

Magnagora, welcome to the age of Mhaldor. It was inevitable.

(Just kidding, god we aren't that bad yet, I hope)

I think that in general we can agree that at the moment Celestian skills (overall) are stronger than others in the basin might be. This has never been a problem because Celest has historically been a smaller, more abused organization, while Magnagora was stronger. Now that things have shifted, it might be worth a look.

I believe the same is true of Glomdoring. Their numbers are smaller and they are less organized, but their skills seem better than their counterparts in the Serenwilde. It's not much of an issue yet, but if Glomdoring grows to the size of Celest, it will most likely become one in the future.
Gandal2006-11-07 16:07:31
I say make a solution, then stop whining. At least no one's complaining about Nil/Celestia anymore glare.gif
silimaur2006-11-07 16:22:25
celests skills are in no way better then magnagoras they are just different, the reason magnagora is doing badly is because 90% of ther good fighters etc they had no longer play and hardly any good ones are left to train or help the new players learn

I love the attempts to change this on the envoy level, which are twarted by crieds of "That's overpowered!" to which we point out, "But it's still worse than the Glomdoring equivilents!" which is always ignored sad.gif
Gandal2006-11-07 16:31:23
Well, right now, Serenwilde is a lot bigger than Glomdoring so it balances somewhat, at least.

To some extent that's true, but as an unbiased person who's fought quite a bit against Mag and Celest, I agree that Celestian skills are OVERALL stronger. Not necessarily that any one skill is in itself incredibly overpowered, but Celest is stronger overall than their Magnagoran parallels.

That is not a factor to consider when balancing a class.

Just looking at the skills for BT/Hartstone that mirror each other positionally:
Spiders >>>>> Pathtwist
Murder >>> Squirrels
Swoop >>>>> Gore
DarkRebirth ??? StagSacrifice (Both are really overpowered in completely different ways - DarkRebirth in very tangible ones, StagSacrifice in very scary potentialities)
Scarab ~= Darkseed
Crow Totem Animal >> Stag Totem Animal (both are worthless, but crows can enter the trees, stags can't = better for trample in sap, since you don't have to whistle/mount when you climb down after treebane/sap. Of course, you could just go buy a flying mount if you're a trans riding Hartstone tongue.gif)

I don't know all the other crow skills though, so I really don't know how their non-mirrored skills balance the Stag skills.
