I'm just looking for smoe staple FACTS about the Basin of Life, that will never change.
Who/What created the Basin of Life? The Supernals?
Is it a fact that we can assume at one point Merians did infact rule the society of Celest, and thusly all important documents would have been done in Merian. Furthermore, St. Tresalyne who founded Celestia, assumidly he would have wrote somethings... where are they?
When working on a "language" in Lusternia, are we allowed to use constructs from modern languages? IE: using the -ahsa suffix to denote something of religious importance (taken from Pali) such that, Razilahsa becomes a word... ?
Hajamin told Celestians that the voice of Kethuru echoes in the minds of the Tainted, and in death they are free for a fraction of time to truely exist and be free, before being snatched back to the Taint and the voice of Kethuru. Other divinities have countered this point, stating that Kethuru's presence is absence from Taint (Lacostian I believe?) Is there a difinitive answer to wheiither or not Taint has anything of Kethuru in or related to it anymore? I don't want Mag and Celest fighting over semantics like little girls... and I dun want to preach semantics either...
I suppose that is all for now... thanks in advance!
Love,mimi
EDIT:
I always thought St. Tresalyne founded the plane of Celestia... so he was an Aquamancer at the time, and later converted?

EDIT:
QUOTE(Aftermath of The Divine Wars)
As the Aquamancers transversed to higher vibrations, they discovered yet another plane of existence, wrapped around the plane of water like a womb wrapped around an unborn child. It was a plane of life and healing, of angelic beings and liquid light. They called the plane Celestia and the more devout mages left the path of elemental magic to devote themselves to the Holy Supernals, the Guardians of Celestia.
I always thought St. Tresalyne founded the plane of Celestia... so he was an Aquamancer at the time, and later converted?

The Supernals are stunted baby gods. They don't do much but talk and wave scary-looking weapons around. Dynara created Lusternia, I believe.
Celest went BOOM! Documents probably went boom with it.
We get mixed messages on OOC language constructs. On one hand, the admin pretty consistently says no when asked in a general sense. On the other, Serenwilde does it all the time and gets admin approval each time they ask for it. So...meh.
There is no definitive answer on what Taint still is or is not, or even, in the case of Wyrd, what is or is not Taint. I think that's intentional.

Fair enough, thanks for responding! I'm goign through the histories at the moment, looking for various things... do the divine care if we quote the histories in writing IC? I would think not, but then again...

I don't think they would. After all, these are known documents. Besides, the libraries have copies of them, so quote the book from your greatlibrary if you want.

In regards to the language question, Merian already exists in-game as a language (merians and bookbinders who learn it can speak merian), so creating a language would be frowned upon. If you are a merian (or bookbinder) you can already write documents in merian. If you aren't either of those and want to write a book or scroll in merian, then you can ask a bookbinder to translate it into merian for you!
Simimi2006-11-07 16:09:21
Good point Noola! Noola FTW!
Ofcourse Excellency, as a Transcendent Bookbinder myself, how would one who does not speak Merian speak Merian? I do not mean "creating a language" I mean creating language contructs. Such as the word "Yunast" for the laypeople of Light, is one pertinent example. Is that kind of thing allowed?
Or a "Merian" word for say , an idea similiar to "amen" or "saa'too" ?

I think the whole idea is that there are not definitive answers to all of these things. If there were, what fun would it be? If, for exmaple, it's proven absolutely that Kethuru is no longer involved in the Taint, Celest no longer has a reason to fight the Taint. On the other hand, if it's proven that the taint is still the tool of Kethuru, then those tainted become the clear enemies of everyone in the Basin.
As it is, these things are left unclear so that we can work our own RP and opinions into it, and make things more interesting.
Heh, good luck there. Sometimes the only things we have are faith and semantics.

I say that it's revealed that Elohora released the Taint and so Mag and Celest love each other forever and ever...not gonna happen
Simimi2006-11-07 16:15:23
Yep, and preaching Faith owns Semantics... My only problem with having to preach semantics, is that a counter preacher just has to say "Pah! She preaches nothing but Semantics!" and *Boom* entire offense blown out of the water...

Skimmed this, so pardon if I repeat.
Celestia, and all the cosmic planes, were creations of Dynara. The creatures within (the Supernals and Emanations) were creations of hers, known as 'half-formed' because of various factors. I believe they're soulless, are they not? They are not gods though. Nowhere near that powerful.

The contents of the basin were created by elder gods.
Simimi2006-11-07 16:57:38
ORLY....
OBVIOUSLY they were created by someone, I was wondering whom. So Dynara is the difnitive creator then?

I mean, like Charune created mooses and deer and and things, Viravain made bugs and birds, Isune created the sunsets etc.
Simimi2006-11-07 17:42:23
Omg what Really???
And, is it fair to characterise the Divinities as "Children of Dynara"?

Yes, read the eldergod histories in the library.

mimi, I suggest reading all the histories as a start. They are a really good read. Estarra could go into professional fantasy writing as far as I'm concerned.
Well I guess Estarra does write fantasy professionally, but that's just part of the job.

Agreed, one of the main reasons I came to Lusternia in the first place was that I read the histories and loved them. The histories and setting of Lusternia are more detailed, interesting, and just all around better than pretty much any other game I've played.

I'm pretty sure they aren't soulless, just gods with flaws. Probably why Dynara didn't hand them over to Magnora.
Unknown2006-11-07 18:20:32
Half-Formed aren't Soulless. Half-formed are like catapillars to the Elder God's butterflies. They're different stages of life. Though some of the early Half-formed became Soulless, Half-formed themselves are not Soulless.
Gandal2006-11-07 18:25:19
How do you take away a soul?
