I still think the constant denial of your state of existance is more emo then anything can be dry.gif
Urazial2007-01-03 17:40:14
Oh, there's no denying Glomdoring is dark. That's what it's supposed to be. But I do believe the subject was bard bands.
Shiri2007-01-03 17:42:59
I'm still curious as to where this "we've been through that" comes from. I know we've had at least 3 failed attempts at some radio stuff, from Guido, Akraasiel and I think Alyssandra, but I don't think we've ever had a...a band or anything like it before. I doubt it'd work out though.
Tenebrae2007-01-03 17:47:52
You don't need a bard to sing.

and for the person who asked why i'm not harping and paladining? I perfer black/death/and gothic metal, but I can't really sing that in Celest can i?
Daganev2007-01-03 18:06:08
Personally, I see Glomdoring's band to be more of a North Korean, "All hail the Grand leader" type band.

Raven died twice (once very recently), and became the tainted Crow (the serpent event proved that Glomdoring was tainted, and not free of the taint )

What Taint? I do not know this Taint of which you speak. THEREISNOTAINT.

dry.gif Ahem. Bard bands. offtopic.gif

And no, there's no taint in Glomdoring.
Hazar2007-01-03 19:36:48
Seriously, Glomdoring is scene now. How hard is that to understand?

I've always pictured their music to be something like this, or this.

I think classical music for Celest is giving them far too much credit. I'm thinking more like...children's sing-along songs. Barney anyone? tongue.gif

No, I vote gregorian chants

Hmmm, I was thinking something more like this maybe. The inquisition

Although, I must say, this is pretty good too.

Have to take that up with the Blacktalon, which is a part of Glomdoring, not the entirety of the commune.

Good luck finding any... If I could, I wouldn't be stuck at GR1, second assembly. dry.gif
Unknown2007-01-03 20:43:18
whaat? What about BT?

OI! Guild Emote is NOT emo. How can it be emo when we give a psychotic laugh while slicing open our arm with our sickle? IS THAT EMO? I think not!

Anyway, I think it'd be interesting to see bard bands.

Forget -emo-.

I see a Glomdoring orchestra playing Antonio Vivaldi's Winter of the Four Seasons, all dressed in dark purple robes, with elegant violins and all assembled in a semicircle with one lead violinist and a maestro. (Someone needs to draw that for an Artisanal entry and -win-.) So in character. Now if only there was that many Harbingers with violins to set up the two or three groups of violinists--

--or that many Glomdoringites for that matter.

#-#

As for Celest;

Classical music is ingrained into the essence of the Cantors whether we like it or not.

Besides, Beethoven's 9th Symphony. wub.gif

#-#

Magnagora

Cacophony, hm. Final Fantasy 7's One Winged Angel? Of the top of my head. Mostly percussion, violins, and a few woodwinds-- probably recorders or flutes.

#-#

Serenwilde

Spiritsingers-- I have no idea on this. Someone needs to explain in detail what the essence of their voice, or show me the poem that won for the creation of the guild.
Gwylifar2007-01-03 22:03:57
Celtic-ish folk music is right. Neopagan spiral dances, celebration jigs to be danced around a maypole, mournful dirges with bagpipes, sounds of birds and babbling brooks. Probably lots of rhythmless ambient Enya stuff.
Erylan2007-01-03 22:23:05
I was thinking more Folkish songs that tell stories for Spiritsingers.
That or Rhythm&Blues. (from Elvis to Mary J. Blige)

Oo, what an excellent idea for an advancement requirement... evil.gif

And hey, if you're looking to combine Celest and Glom, go listen to Mozart's Requiem tongue.gif
Kharaen2007-01-03 22:58:17
Celest - Marie Soleil, or Rosa McNeil
Serenwilde - Elton Jon, U2, Anya, David Usher
Magnagora - Hole, Garbage, or Guns and Roses
Glomdoring - Standard horror violin music, or Dawn of the Dead (first) mall music.
Unknown2007-01-03 23:25:31
Glomdoring would clearly be Apocalyptica.

Magnagora = Burzum, Serenwilde = Bal-Sagoth, Celest = Dreamtale.

On a more humourous note, I could also picture Spiritsingers with Finntroll-esque music (Trollhammaren fits quite nicely).
Hazar2007-01-04 00:39:04
Yes, Apocalyptica is very Glomdoring. Good call.
Unknown2007-01-04 00:42:42
wub.gif Apocalyptica!
Ashteru2007-01-04 00:44:39
Magnagora is ICP-ig.

No, not really.

For classical music:

Celest - yeah, 9th symphony, I guess, or maybe Spring
Serenwilde - chin.gif Mozart Clarinet Quintet, annoyingly snuggly and lovey-dovey peace glare.gif
Glomdoring - Wieniawski Legende. Mysterious, quiet, and there's love, which I find to be subtle but present in Glom...I sort of like its environment.
Magnagora - 5th symphony (Mozart)?
Ackleberry - chin.gif Tchaikovsky Quartet 2nd movement (maybe 2nd quartet? Don't remember) calming, I found Ackleberry nicer than Serenwilde in the histories. Though Tolborolla is a bit strange.
Hallifax - Baroque music in general, say Bach or something. In many cases, cold and orderly.
Gaudiguch - Shostakovich 8th Quartet 2nd movement - utter chaos that is awesome sounding. Whole note = 120, fast-paced.
Hallifax/Gaudiguch in current states - Barber Adagio for Strings, distant, wistful, frozen feeling.

If ya don't know these pieces, look 'em up. Youtube is nice.
