As the title says, for you all in the USA, VOTE!

I'm reminded of that 'vote or die' campaign last year... I'll just have to hire some hit men IG to carry out my wishes, and figure out who's characters are American as well.

Seriously though, vote!

It's weird that you all have the option to vote. Down-under, you -have- to vote. If you fail to vote on polling day, you are fined something like $550.

Is this unusual? All you non-Americans out there, is it an option or a requirement where you live?

We regularly have like, at most, 80% of the people that are allowed to vote vote. So, it's optional.

Optional here. Quite right too. No good having people just voting for a party because they can't be bothered researching it properly.

I'm not sure which way I lean on optional voting. On one hand, informed people (you would hope) who have an interest in the political climate of the country and world would be more likely to to vote. On the other, how democratically representative is optional voting? Do voting rates vary in areas of different ethnic populations, education, income, unemployment, access to good public services, etc.

But, anyway, vote to unBush America.

Please vote some sense back into American foreign policy.

That's why you vote for the commies, like me. No serious chance to win, ever, but at least not a vote wasted on one of those guys who promise something and then don't pull it through.

How absolutely extraordinary. Surely the freedom to vote goes hand in hand with the freedom not to vote.

Back here in Belgium you must vote unless you have a reason (like being seriously ill) which requires you to get some paperwork done + someone to make your vote for you. Quite a high fine on it as well if you don't vote. And we are using electronic voting, so no more writing "anarchy" over the paper and making a false vote. You either pick something or do a blank vote, which means your vote goes to the majority. Yay for democracy?

Oh and please vote Bush away for me, jokes about him are getting old and boring by now.

I don't care who you vote for, just vote. Well, actually a care a great deal, but I'd rather have anything but apathy.

Remember, the (D) next to people's name stands for Don't vote for them.

I'd rather that those who vote ignorantly don't vote at all - so long as they do not lose their right to vote.

And I also love living across the street from a bar! A group of college kids with a live band have gathered in the parking area and are holding a 'pep rally' for voting there to encourage the drivers of passing vehicles to vote. When the light turns red, the band starts playing. It's funny!

Kinda feel sorry for my neighbor who works nights though...

As a foreigner, I do not get to vote, so I paid my loser friend who does not want to vote, to cast my votes for me, so I am psuedo-voting today!

Zomg if the things I vote for win, I will forever believe it was -MY- vote that gave it the winning edge. I'm so excited!

Pshhh, don't vote Democractic... thats like giving a kid extra dessert because you can't stand them crying and screaming.

Vote Libertarian! Although I actually split my vote between libertarians and indepedants... I had to vote for the one guy who listed "student" as his profession.

It was fun, I voted, then left to work, then found my local mayor standing on the streatcorner to the entrance to the freeway.... I was like... oh hi, you should have been standing on the other side of town.


OH, and in California, they expect 50% voter turnout, but other people say thats too low and theres going to be a whopping 55%!
