It makes me cry inside that people think voting for some democrat in Iowa is going to do anything to change Bush, his policies, or mean anything other than a a democrat winning some seat in Iowa.
Do remember that the Republicans won Congress in 1994, and it wasn't untill 2000 that it ment anything.
In 2 years Bush will be gone with none of his people running to replace him.

As a foreigner, I do not get to vote, so I paid my loser friend who does not want to vote, to cast my votes for me, so I am psuedo-voting today!
Zomg if the things I vote for win, I will forever believe it was -MY- vote that gave it the winning edge. I'm so excited!
Well I voted. The polls opened about 5 hours ago.
Voting has to be a choice; I just wish everyone would choose to do it. It seems like people in the USA generally wait till they get screwed over by the laws before they take an interest in them. Which is why older people vote more in my opinion, they've lived longer and thus have had more chances to get screwed over.
"I vote for the majority" is pretty bad as an option, we've got "I choose not to vote for any candidate office or issue" which is a little better... but to vote for a no-vote is still silly.
For all of you out there in other countries, this is the mid-term elections, so we’ve got around a good chunk of our congress seats up for grabs, but no presidential race. Barring a random impeachment (he has openly broken more laws then any other president I can think of but I don’t think in a million years that would happen anyway) Bush still has 2 years to go.

Judging my the comericals on TV, you would think otherwise.
The Angelides vs Shwartzenager commercials have Shwartz standing next to bush and the line below says "We don't want him anymore" (or something similar, paraphrasing ofcourse)

Here, Chafee (the Republican candidate) has ads pointing out his opponenets mistakes in the past (like decades past), and stresses how he votes like a democrat, and is against Bush.
Whitehouse (the Democratic challenger), points out Chafee's flaws, and retirates how a vote for him, is a vote for Bush. It is partially true, as Chafee is more likely to vote Republicans into all those commitees in the House and Senate.
I'm not even going to get into the Governor race...

There we go. I was, at 12:34pm central US time, the 335th voter to cast a ballot in my precinct's voting location. Go go civic pride!
Among other things, I totally voted for Bingo and Raffles to be legalized in the state's constitution.

I just went and voted. The TV station was there and everything. I think the vice prez of the college democrats plotted this all, because she got us to wear our dem shirts and we suddenly got swarmed by cameras. I was so freaking nervous the entire time. This was my first time to vote and there was a camera maybe 3-4 feet away from my face. OMG I'm going to be on tv and I didn't even wear makeup or comb my hair.

Acrune, I'm one of the most active members in the college democrats. I've helped put on a rally for the democratic candidate at my college. I've written articles for the college democrats newsletter. I've made signs and posters for politicians. I've passed out fliers and talked to people about the candidates.. So.. bite my .

Just got this email I thought was funny
Vote Like You Mean It
Exercise your right...to vote
Vote as if the machines will count correctly. Vote as if your vote were the deciding one. Vote as if you believe that we can each make a difference.
Vote as if the Senate had asked you over for a coffee to get your opinion.
Vote like you mean it.

I voted...crutches and all.
And the nice old lady who took my ballot told me that she had immense respect for people on crutches because a few years ago, she had an operation on her toe, and man, did she hate those crutches, and you know, her toe has never been the same!
I swear these poor senior citizens who volunteer at the polls around here don't get to talk to anyone much.

I voted for the first time today, and it was the most unenjoyable experience ever. I turned 18 two months after the last elections which stunk, so I was all excited to vote today. Granted it was on campus (I registered in the county my school is at so I didn't have to deal with an absentee ballot and don't really care for North Carolina ), and I guess they underestimated how many people would turn up because I had to wait 2 hours to vote, at 2pm. It was totally ridiculous :|. I can't even imagine how long people had to wait closer to closing.
