And if your so concerned with your skills becoming better, why don't YOU become envoy and do something about it?
Because we have more faith in the admin than that.

Fraid I rather like them being as they are. Actually got to really participate in this one and not just have to sit there and help fend off people. *swings big stick*
There seems to be plenty of people making the revolts so... stop whining?

I play Lusty mostly between the hours of 11pm - 3am EST. I've never seen a village revolt during that time frame. Granted it's a small time frame, but I can't remember the last time I was online during a village revolt.

And um, Hraddon-the entire last half of your post was pretty derogatory. It was uncalled for and not even relative to the conversation. Try hard to be mature and not take cheap shots eh? This isn't the place for it. And if your so concerned with your skills becoming better, why don't YOU become envoy and do something about it?
That's just what he does. He bailed on Celest to be on the winning side, and now Celest is better, so he's now filled with an overwhelming bitterness that clouds his judgement. Thats my theory anyways.

Who, Narsrim? Oh, wait, not him. He went back when Celest started getting on top.

Narsrim left Celest?

I agree, revolts should always happen when I can be around. So.. like between 8 GMT to 22 GMT. And no revolts when I'm in class either!
Seriously though, what is inconvenient for you may be the only time someone else is around. You can't measure this game simply by when you are around and when not because not everyone sits in the same time zone.

I'd like to bastardize an amusing Lusternian quote I remember being told about:
" the Americans! "
" the Americans! "

Marry me?
I miss most of the revolts too, which is to be expected.
From the list of favours Serenwilde gives out to people for helping with revolts I can only assume that the timing is random enough; the people being favoured vary from revolt to revolt which seems to point towards different players at different times, to me at least.
Shiri2006-11-11 02:41:21
On that note, weren't we saying we wanted wildnotes times to be MORE (not less) random a while ago? I've still never seen one.
Gandal2006-11-11 03:38:15
Sleep: 7-8 hours
Class: 6-7 hours
That's 13-15 hours just from those two.
That means it is always more likely that you're not around during a village revolt but yeah, it is annoying. And...Mag stop whining. Add positive feedback, not trolling. Please.

I'm gonna wager that it's mostly just the programming of the game... It probably makes the admin's life a little easier, to set the revolts at what seems about 1 week apart and within a certain time frame. It's probably just something to make the admin's life easier. I suppose they could, if they really wanted to, manually trigger the revolts, but that would require a little more work.
And I think right now, Admin have there work cut-out for them with village relations to the cities.
Just my two cents.

Narsrim, human beings spend most of there time a day sleeping/working/learning. Just because "70%" of the times you mentioned are when US people are doing that doesn' mean they aren't random. Just becuase you don't like the timing something gives for your side of the big blue wet thing by no means changes the world so that the US times are the right times, and sod everyone else. You're asking for them NOT to be random. That's a bad thing.
Kyleel2006-11-13 01:13:32
I have been playing for 22 months.
I realise I'm not around much, but I still have over 50 days of playing time.
In this time I have seen 7 village influences that I was able to take part in (4 of them peaced).
My impression is that village influence times are heavily skewed in favour of the US or UK timezones.
Note:
If they have now become truly random, then I'm pretty sure this is a new change.

Okay, enough arguing about whether the revolts are random. It's been pointed out several times that the wording was not clear, drop it and read what the discussion is really about.
As to whether this unduly favors non-US players, I don't know. I can say that I have not seen a revolt in several OOC months, but that may be that my own playing times haven't lined up well with when the revolts will happen.
For the record, revolts are not and can never be absolutely random. We don't want the villages going up as soon as they're swayed. They are affected by the governing style of the organization, the comm quests, etc. So, the question is whether the algorithm causes the revolts to happen much more often when the majority of the playerbase is unavailable. They do tend to happen when I personally am unavailable, so I can see where Narsrim is coming from. Still, I don't know if it's that big of an issue.
