Ok, I have spoken to a few people about this but never got any real accurate answers. But from what I heard Faeling's level 3 fast balance gives them between 21%-30% faster balance that fluctuates.
Is that correct? If not what is Faeling fast balance equal to?
Does the fast balance act like a modifier on the weapon you are using?
like if I have a 220-380-120 greatsword would using it be like using a 156 speed greatsword? (30% of 120 is 36)
what is the speed cap on weapons?
Considering the Faeling fast balance what is the lowest speed on a weapon you can have and still cap speed (excluding defs such as lightning combatstyle)
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone who knows any of this would be able to share it.
Thanks,
Abithol

I think it used to be 30%, now is 21%
I guess? It affects time directly, not speed of weapon, so I'm not sure.
280 is max speed.
Faeling speed cap is lower than that.
Btw, unless Shadowlord, killing something with a warrior is crazy hard (for me at least)

22.5%. 7.5% per level.
Shryke2006-11-15 23:19:42
The cap speed for faeling weapons is 275, or at least it was, back in Melanchthon's days.
Unknown2006-11-16 02:05:34
does the 22.5% faster balance recovery affect weapons speed? or are they two different formulas? i.e speed is more dependant on weapon speed then fast balance recovery speed or is it like adding 22.5% speed onto whatever is the speed on your weapon?
also just a sidenote a faeling using a 275 speed katana with lightning combatstyle is a lot slower then I thought it would be, I was sort of let down...

Also, yes anything that uses balance will be affected and be that percentage faster if your race has a fast balance recovery.

Your balance recovery works both combined with weapons (for attacking) and also with any other skills that use balance.... so they work together with weapons, but there are racial caps, so like you as a faeling would reach a cap speed with a much lower speed katana. For example (this is not an exact number of when you reach caps) .... You using a 275 speed katana with lvl 3 balance recovery would hit you maximum speed already whereas a Human with a 275 speed katana still hasn't reached his cap speed. He would need to make a 325 speed katana to reach the cap speed and be as quick as you when attacking with a sword. (remember I am using numbers off the top of my head)
Yeah I think it is something like 2.0-2.5 sec balance recovery time for a fae at the fastest they can be. Can't remember exactly... but try it as a human... it will make fae's seem like they are faster than lightning... oh and lightining combatstyle doesn't make very much of a difference, especially as a faeling/shadowfae since I think you would have already reached your cap speed as a faeling with a 275 speed katana.

I was able to notice a speed difference when using lightning as a Tae'dae. But who's crazy enough to go Tae'Dae, right?

The speed bonus from lightning is 0.1 seconds.

That’s actually the opposite for me; whenever I play fast races for either eq or balance I'm pleasantly surprised with how speedier they are then what I'm used to on Zenji, even lvl 1 is nice.
Also, yes anything that uses balance will be affected and be that percentage faster if your race has a fast balance recovery.
Indeed. I'm used to L1 racial now, but I'd definitely notice it if I changed to Elfen...or something. I definitely remember being pleasantly surprised when we got the bonus in the first place.

Which makes it pretty useless actually, why not go concentrated and hope you get more wounds?

I'd need weapons of varying speeds on alts of varying races
Ekard2006-11-23 11:00:13
To answer on faeling balance speed.
I dont know how its reletaed with weapon speed, but for general skills that use balance.
Its 20% faster for skills, so if skill is 4 have seconds balance at normal balance, then faeling would use that skill at 3,2 seconds balance.

Would it be abusing help seconds to make a bunch of alts to test balance speeds, giving several weapons to someone to hold and give to my alts just to test something like this, then I'd give the weapons back and suicide?

Ildaudid2006-11-23 14:22:47
No I doubt it would be considered alt abuse since you are in no way planning on keeping the weapon, or the character, so I would doubt it.
