A question about a few guilds

Now that I stepped down from my short reign, and Aiakon will be GM again, expect more RP and discipline from its members wink.gif I think some said I was too lenient, and some said I was too strict, so I'm rather conflicted on what influence (if any) I had on the Geomancers tongue.gif

It's really enjoyable when players like Flarya, Aiakon, Balizar, Revan, Lylly, Kikyou, etc. are around. Occasionally, like any guild, you'll get morons (one named Sushiman) whom I didn't bother to speak to and kicked out. I really wasn't going to waste any time with that one...

I had a Nihilist alt once, at the time they stricly enforced proper behaviour, and set high standards fpr RP - and not in a bad way. It was quite enjoyable. This was when Nokraenom was GM, but Nigredo still dishes out a bit of old fashioned Mag justice when people are being extremely unruly.

As for ur'guard, never played there extensively enough to say anything.

Basically any non-Seren guild will enforce some kind of decorum standard. The level varies, though; the ur'Guard are notorious for strictness and discipline whereas, say, the Aquas are more lax.

(And before all the Seren jump on me, I'm referring to the Moondancer "skyclad tradition".)

Eh.. I haven't actually seen much (or any?) real sillyness on any Seren channels yet since I joined. But I definitely remember some of the talks on the Aqua channels when I was there.. -those- were sometimes just plain childish. (and some conversations on the Celest channel made me twitch, especially when people were mad at me because I told them to stfu! laugh.gif ).

I do like the skyclad tradition though, I run around like that half the time because I forget to dress again after begging. Really should make a fitting desc for those occasions. unsure.gif ninja.gif

The only thing sad about the skyclad thing is how it reduces the demand for tailoring. sad.gif

Meh weeelllll anyways. I've always given people some leeway as Geomancers are supposed to be "insane", but I don't let people act like jackasses or like idiots, if they do I'm going to discipline them. I've always felt the Geomancers just take more of a hands off approach, in that we're not going to -teach- you how to behave, but keep you in line all the same. The Geomancers were actually going to change a TON and become a lot stricter at the end of summer but things didn't work out as I had hoped so now we're the same as always.

Since we're asking about Magnagora here...I have a question or two.

1) Are city favours handed out for silly reasons? And done so three or four times to one individual per day?
Not like in Celest, where I see CF's and GF's being handed out basically on the grounds of "I like this person so they get favoured"

2) How is CT? Is it filled with nonsense and bragging individuals?
It's really usually pretty quiet unless someone needs something.

P.S. No one flame me for asking these questions. They are NOT meant offensively towards anyone and no names were mentioned purposely. So, please don't mention any.

I honestly want to know. I'm thinking about playing someone from Magnagora. IF it's better than what I'm playing now.
Mag can be fun, but in my opinion the groups you form are much smaller and more tightly knit than in Celest where you get big sprawling groups, and existent as opposed to Glom where your group is perhaps 2 or three people. But then, that's just my experiences.

Edit: Because, I can't spell nonsense right on a first try!

QUOTE(Jigan @ Nov 22 2006, 08:04 PM) 356255
Aye,

Magnagora wouldn't put up with people like Jigan half the time. Of course, Jigan is only reasonable half the time, so it works out.

The snuggly and stuff only happens on occasion. Almost once an hour, if that. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

In Celest's defense, people try to be more "Good for you!" rather than "That's nice, now leave me alone."

Unless one of a number of certain players that I have a lot of beef with is in the area, in which case it's just one huge snugglefest with everyone else glaring at said person. Too bad you're not allowed to kill people for stuff like that in Celest, although I did almost break person's instrumenting wrist in my frustration. Yes, I did first show them the door.

ahh my beloved urguard. Follow this one idea to its conclusion for your answer...

We are Men, all of us, even the women. Harden up, don't be a snuggletard and most importantly, Harden up. Man i miss the guard, Personally it used to run as a very tight ship discipline wise (To the point of me killing guildies for acting out, I had a macro for annoying newbies, it would uncitizen %1, brand %1 enemy and pulp %1 head in one swift move)

What a great place to be, the only other guild i've experienced like it is the Maldaathi (old school Maldaathi/Infernal) If i ever come back to lusti it will be in the capacity of Ur'guard for sure

Geomancers are insane - The gibberish rantings of Aiakon and the following of the Earth Lords, have made then crazy tongue.gif But I think one of their main focuses are how to use a demesne, from making one, to maintaining it. How best to use effects, etc. Without decent, competent Geomancers a raid, or even a defense attempt will fail miserably.

It has nothing to do with the Earth Lords at all. Aiakon drove them all crazy just by himself.

You see what Ixchilgal is like? That is purely because of Aiakon. He was normal before Aiakon got hold of him.
Verithrax2006-11-24 02:15:33
Once upon a time, the Geomancers were batshit but at the same time very respectful and disciplined. Not being so meant you ended up without any flooring underneath you, or worse, in a room alone with Revan.

During my tenure in the Geos, the process of Magnagora's snugglyfication kind of changed this.

I'm not going to comment on the Cacophony- Oh, wait, yes I am. Don't join it. At least not until Aia gets yanked out of there and replaced with someone who is either sane or can act like a good figurehead (IE, not messing up other's people's work while simultaneously failing to accomplishing one's own.)

Get over yourself. If the guild degenerated during your tenure - it is YOUR fault it happened, not because Magnagora went "snugglified" or any other excuse you can think of. You screwed up - admit it, move on and stop blaming everyone else for your stuffups.

Verithrax is now officially on my ignore list, no more grandiose arrogance from him. smile.gif

Serenwilde really isn't nearly as snuggly as everything thinks, at least not in any way that's not perfectly fine. OMG, we might hug other people! OH NO! I'm a very touchy person IRL. Not to strangers, but I'm always hanging on my friends. Some people are like that.

I mean, and no disrespect to Celest and Serenwilde, but I had alts there and was shocked by the snuggly BS (Serenwilde) and the stupid conversations such as I am level 52 YAY!!! and the whole ct going yay!! (Celest). But maybe I was just on when some of the other village idiots were out... But almost every time I logged in to Seren or Celest, someone was being either A. Snuggly or B. Bragging/Whining

Disclaimer- I did not sit there for hours nor am I referring to any of the clan lines for defense or raiding in either commune/city... Also the times I am referring to in Celest were times Shamarah, Malicia, Thoros and Vesar were NOT online. I know none of them really stand for that type of stuff on the CT and have seen them lay a smack down on people for it.

Weird. You complain about it, and then .. added to it?

Meh.

Given I was never in guild elected leadership, that's a pretty heavy accusation. Given, also, that you haven't the faintest idea of what happened in the Geomancers or what I did while I worked for them, it's a baseless one. Especially given how you're one of the people responsible for dilluting Magnagora's roleplay recently and basically discarding the roleplay base built by the early Magnagoran leaders on a whim.

More or less I wanted to know about the Geomancers mostly. I've seen their skill lists and I'm rather entertained by the thought of having that much power. After all, Bards are weak, and I would hope that things would be strict there unlike in my guild. That's more or less my reasoning for wanting to know so badly...

I did not add to it, we had a description contest and waited to see if either of us were hit on, we did not speak on the CT or anything. That was the rule. We joined Kalodan's guild at the time and we waited to see when he trained us who he would hit on. So no I didn't add to it per say. Just wanted to see if the rumours were true that he hit on every fae that walked through the door. And as it turned out he didn't hit on either of us. huh.gif
