Daevos and I were flying through the components of the quest whoring the entire event for ourselves, but the advent of seren and celestians coming, threatened our chance at the honours line, so we decided to spite everyone and utterly screwed it all up.

Fixed.

Your accusation might have a bit more weight if Magnagora didn't have a legacy of mucking these things up.

It doesn't. That I know of.

The quest in Xion deliberately pitted Mag against Celest. There were two crystals, one Earth and one Water that hated each other - one had to be neutralised. The moment another Org turned up, conflict was inevitable. Ixion's comment is pissy and a little silly, but not entirely unfair.

True, and I tried to explain that to everyone. In addition, I was ready to try to convince Celest to let Mag disable the Water crystal if we were having trouble.

That said, we DID have the Earth crystal's defenses disabled, but after the control room was sealed, everything went to hell.

If I could go back and do it again, I wouldn't have followed Celest around. I'd have gone off on my own and tried to bring down the self-destruct. Oh well. Coulda, shoulda, woulda, but didn't. dunno.gif

It really does. I -think- the first incident was a certain pair of leading Magnagorans deciding to take the reformed Seal of Nature the Basin had spent a couple RL days digging pieces out of Astral for and then...putting it into the Megalith (doh.gif) but it's hardly the only case...the reputation is not ill-deserved.

Although I don't know if it is here. Wasn't there to see it and don't understand the details.
Ixion2006-11-19 16:56:46
Putting it in the megalith wasn't a big deal really. Before you come to judge Magnagora for that, who do you think did the majority of the shard gathering to reform the seal in the first place? Take a wild guess.

Few major quests get figured out in under an hour, much less 30 minutes. Take the Eye of Dynara event. Obtaining the eye was very very simple, yet it took a long time for people to figure out because the volume of people made the situation chaotic. I'm certain we would have had the quest followed to its conclusion within the 30 minute countdown had other people not shown up.
Ekard2006-11-19 17:00:24
Yea, it was chaos on Xion.
It was way too many people there, noone was sure what to do.
Its miracle that we didnt kill each other there.

But still i liked that event.

I wonder what would happen if we would be able to solve that part.

If this even is over could admins enlighten us, and tell us what we have missed?

To my recollection, the spire had informed us to deactivate the Earth crystal. While perhaps irritating for Magnagorans, this should have been reason to back down from trying to undo the Water crystal. (I don't actually know if they -did- try to deactive the Water crystal, so I was just saying.)

Also, I really can't think of any other events that give Magnagora the supposedly bad reputation, though my memory is bad. And whilst I think Ixion can be good at deciphering quests, I still don't believe that anyone would have been able to do it in the allotted time. Narsrim and I have spent a good four or five hours there working on it, to little avail.

And no, I don't think the pyrinne is dead.

Gorgulu/Tainted Fae is one. Daevos and the Geomancers slaughtered the Moondancers who were needed to keep Gorgulu from breaking free from Nil and consuming the world.

Also, from an OOC perspective, a major event-quest like this is meant to be partaken by as many people as possible. I don't think Estarra and Co. work very hard on the room emotes, the plots, etc, to just have a dozen people show up.

Shorlen, it's never a good idea for people to reveal a "what might have been" plot, since they can be re-used later and they might spoil the future plots. Who is to say this is over. unsure.gif
