Probably only a taste of what's to come, if the Viravain event is any indication There weren't many tentacles and eyeballs at first there either, and then it started RAINING EYES EVERYWHERE x_x
Shirath2006-11-16 21:31:43
It's almost a shame the event is taking so long... Now I can't witness the end of it!! (Unless it takes, like, another 12 hours)

Bite your tongue! I might get to come see it soon, it is good for it to take awhile longer...

I'm hoping for it to last the weekend.. then I can enjoy myself and get involved... not that I really can get involved.. because Aiakon will have nothing to do with Celest...

Thatd be great if it were so. Have to finish my essay and..novices, of course, but Id like to be able to be a part of it beyond 'what happened?' or 'Whats happening?' or 'Whats everyone talking about?'

Thanks a lot :/
I work my ass off to save reality from falling apart, and now I'm annoying?
Thank 'ee kindly
The shouting is annoying but even more annoying were the 'suggestions' to other orgs. If you think Serenwilde should work with Glomdoring and unenemy lots of people to do so that's great. If you think its that good of an idea then send a message to someone on the Moonhart Circle. Otherwise, keep the suggestions to yourself.
Aiakon2006-11-16 21:59:52
Let's not get bitchy, gentlemen.
We have (presumably) many more hours of this event to watch.

-ponder- I agree, that wasn't my best idea of the day... Never knew that many Gloomies were enemied to the Wilde... Ah well, learn some every day. Like when to shut up, and things like that
Zalandrus2006-11-16 23:30:58
Well, besides the fact that I just had 90% reserves drained out of me, and that I wasted an hour zipping around aetherspace looking for something that probably wasn't there...
THIS IS SO COOL!!!!!!
I regret not helping to slay the beasties at the plex though...

I don't see any reason to discuss a currently running event OOCly.
Why not?

The forums are a very good player resource; they however are not a game-replacement.

People attempt to solve IC problems that are ment to be solved in game on the forums at times.
The forums are a very good player resource; they however are not a game-replacement.
But people are (were) discussing it openly in ooc clans (and simultaneously saying how bad it is to discuss it here). Why is it so much worse to discuss it here?
If Lusternia were purely roleplay I'd tend to agree... but then if Lusternia were purely roleplay their wouldn't be ooc clans either. So, why is it so bad to disucss it here?
For some of us it might be the only way we know what is going on.
Anarias2006-11-17 01:57:57
OOC clans are still in the game itself though. You still have to log in to find out what the clans are talking about. This means the game is still being played in the game and not spilling out into the forums.

What difference does that make?
You are saying ooc discussion is fine as long as it is done through the medium of the game, and not IMs or Forums? Why?
If its is purely the medium of transmission that makes it okay, then you are basically being elitist against those of us who do not have time to sit logged onto the game, but may be able to browse the forums from work.
Where does this attitude come from?
Anarias2006-11-17 02:26:15
You're jumping to conclusions. Its easy to say I'm an elitist and thus, dismiss what I say. I haven't been logged in to follow the event very much either. The medium does matter though. To what extent is debatable but the Achaea forums are enough of an example for me personally to conclude that when the game is played on the forums it detracts from the gameplay of the game itself.

I still don't see a clear reason why its okay to discuss it in ooc clans but not here.
Why does the medium matter?
What example does the Achaean forms show?
I'm certainly not suggesting that the game be played here... I just don't see why people seem so vehemently opposed to sharing a little of what has been happening.
There have been a number of posts here saying... I can't log in, what's been happening.
What's so bad about giving out a little of what has already happened?

Nothing at all. I think having a ticker that had brief updates and was changed as needed would be a great thing to have on the website. Its when it inevitably becomes more than just sharing updates that problems arise.

Updates would be nice, I think that's all most people here are asking for, just to help keep a sense of involvement when they can't be in-game.
As for becoming more that updates, I tend to think that is a problem regardless of the media. i.e. Discussing it in ooc clans is just as bad as discussing it here.
So, with that in mind...
Any updates on what's been happening?
