Has he been... perma-banned yet? Everyone says Sano is, but man that kid doesn't give up if he really is. When you get 10+ shrubbings, time for a permanent ban if not. Sheesh.
On another side note, I always wanted to be a shrub.

Isn't there another one... where you get turned into a maggot? I'd think that'd be fun to play. Kind of a good RP punishment in lieu of zapping. In fact, I wish the Gods turned people into things more often as punishments! And you'd be stuck like that until your punishment was up and you couldn't talk, but you could move around and emote and stuff. And you'd have no access to your skills and so on. So, you'd just have to play out the punishment when you're logged on - which would be fun OOCly, but since it's a IC punishment for IC transgressions, that's fine.
Like... if Vanthan annoyed Terentia (just as an example), She might turn him into a Seagull (cause he hates them! It'd be perfect!) for like an hour, and all he'd be able to do would be to waddle around when walking, fly, squawk when he tried to talk, ruffle his feathers and that's it. That'd be awesome.

It's not all that fun.
If they could add some more to it... like so you could put credits into photosynthesis and growth, and eventually you could rip your roots out of the ground and become a walking triffid and slay cows.
Then being shrubbed would be fun.
Reiha2006-11-20 16:18:56
I was a maggot but it was an illusion bug. I didn't even notice until Sipelus kept on looking at me funny during an influence.
And I want to be a shrub just cause. Not that I want to do anything stupid to warrant it...
Edit: And YES, what Aiakon suggested sounds like loads of fun! I'd totally shell out a few hundred credits for that.

Been turned into a maggot once. Then I ran away from Terentia. Really much faster than any maggot should.
I wanted to be shrubbed and "planted" in Aegis Keep's gardens. Whenever someone had a question, I'd rustle once for yes, two for no, three for "Not a yes/no question"

Sounds like if they upgrade shrubs more people are going to be obnoxious If I ever get permabanned for whatever reason, I want you all to plant my body at the Pool of Stars.

Is there even Permabanning in Lusternia? IE: Completly locked out of the game? I don't think there is... Otherwise somethings would have harsher punishments then just your chracter being turned into a shrub...
And I think if X characters are shrubbed and all are connected to the same person, IP ban should be instated. And if they get around the IP ban and are caught, IP ban again.

I don't know, I've actually never heard of someone being perma-banned, for all I know it might be against IRE policy to permanently drive away the business of even one person unless they've seriously messed things up. Enlighten me if I'm dreadfully wrong, but the worst crimes I can think of in Lusternia (plagiarism and shamelessly generating loads of gold with a bug) only received shrubbings of half a year or so.

Yes, there is permabanning... IP bans are the general form of permaban. There are some people who consistently skip around IP bans, and thus need new IP bans for each character.
In the past, an entire school network was IP banned because of a few bad apples, which hurt everybody else at that school who could no longer get on from their normal playing location.

Kabal from Imperian was perma-banned, from there and to Achaea and Aetolia from what I understand.

One guy was permabanned from all IRE games (all characters deleted as well) for sexually harassing a minor. Raised a massive stink about it on the Lusternian MSN group (this predated the official forums), nothing got changed. So banning does exist, but is apparently rarely used.

The worst crimes are actually preying on novices (scamming them for credits, or various involuntary acts). Those things will get you in a LOT of trouble.

someone like that should be punished severely. And, about the Cantors, Tsiana? The one who was wrong about everything?

If shric is that worried about having his account deleted then purchasing the minimum amount of credits fixes it.
(Or, you could pull an Aesyra.)

Narrath, you're now banned from the forums, again.
Lying to the Administration does not go over very well, boys and girls. It causes you to lose the privilege of playing Lusternia if you keep it up.
