Whoa, 200cr for an artifact that lets you return from aetherbubbles trivially? Hrm! That's almost worth it. But then again, I'd rather get a Whistle for 250cr.
Hands off to whoever wrote the messages you see when you're in a ship as it hears a whistle and speeds off toward it, even if they did give me a bit of motion sickness IRL the first time I read them.

Heh, it doesn't just teleport there? It actually speeds through all of aetherspace to the dock?

It was so awesome when Elryn asked to be let off at a dock when he logged in while we were hunting tentacles in Astralspace (so he could cubix home), and so I docked at that rock, let him off, and RAN. He whistled, and so I ran faster, but of course couldn't escape fast enough
Never try to maroon the owner of an aethership on some Divine-forsaken rock when he has a magic whistle

Not any. Only works on Prime, Ethereal, Elemental, Cosmic, and Astral. Doesn't work in the Aetherways, in Aetherspace, in Aetherbubbles, nor in the Spirit Plane nor Limbo.

I go to aetherbubbles all the time! Or used to before Shorlen became a manse hermit.

Syntax: PRIZE
PRIZE RETURN
Power: 5 (any) (to return)
Sometimes you build a piece of furniture that is so beautiful and special to
your heart that you always wish to return to it. By claiming a piece of
furniture as your prized possession, you will be able to return to it. This
ability has a pwerful range that extends up through the known planes (but not
across aetherspace). There are some limitations to this power. It costs 10,000
gold to place your golden seal upon a piece of furniture to claim it as your
prized possession and you may only ever have one prized piece. Note that prized
furniture does not decay.
Yes, I'm bringing back this old thread. Aside from the typo in there, I'm kind of surprised that Prized changed. The 'across aetherspace' part was the most useful part...now, how is it at all useful?

Barely different then a totem bond now. Druid artisans won't get any benefit from their prized furniture other then the last forever part.

It's by far the fastest way down from Astral. How is that not useful?
Hazar2007-01-14 01:11:37
It is an amazingly fast way down from Astral.
Zalandrus2007-01-15 04:07:58
I was using it as an amazingly fast way -up- to astral, heh.
-Have prized item in manse
-Fusion flashpoint up to leo (or other convenient, not-so-difficult sphere)
-Lease manse
-Inevitably die to the two linked fesixes that decide to pop up together somewhere
-Arrive on Prime annoyed
-Prize return back up, rescue aethership, happy happy
To add a further annoyance, it was a Kethuru tentacle time up on astral...Forren got some spores from the dock on Leo, I had died, he gave me the spores to go back up, I snorted, and was promptly whacked to death by a tentacle.

EDIT: Although to be fair, the newsroom is OP not the demigod. But demigods got better with the phoenix change (once it would stop being bugged that is ).
