My last post to the Serenwilde news was more than a bit harsh - I just wanted to clarify that it was all IC. The actual OOC reasons for my actions of late is that I REALLY need to get cracking down on some theses for school, and Lusternia is far too distracting for me. I realized that the best way for me to get it to stop being such a huge distraction is to limit what I can do ingame, burn as many bridges as I can and the like.

I decided that I enjoyed being an Envoy far more than playing the game, and having the occasional spar to keep up to date on the state of combat changes (of course, I now have to wait three days to do that again Druids without cudgel or sap or thornlash can't do *anything* in a fight). So, this is the only task I have kept. I have no intention of stepping down as Envoy, and I'm still very much interested in talking about combat stuff. As far as roleplaying goes, it just takes far too much time, and I can't just end it when I need to to get back to OOC things, and the OOc things are far more pressing right now.

So, if any of you Serenwilders have any combat questions, or want training, feel free to ask me - I honestly would love to help. Other than that, well... no hard feelings, alright? Feel free to try to talk to Shorlen IC about other things, but don't expect to get much of a response, nor a pleasent one

I do miss being Envoy, so I understand. Focus on school, that's more crucial anyway.

A friend of mine has most of the manga vols 1-7. It seems like the series follows it EXACTLY. Each volume of the manga is 4 episodes of the series, so that means there will be 9 or 10 volumes total.

EDIT: Everything Shorlen said in the IC post is completely, 100% true. However, the harsh and hateful sentiments were 100% IC, and do not carry over to OOC me, nor were they aimed at any players (even Charune's, whom I often find myself at odds with on the forums).

But I know that if someone wrote scathing criticism and then I saw a post saying "oh it was just ic".. thats code for "I was trying to have fun, don't take what I wrote seriously" and then I get to just kinda ignore it like it never happened. Cause, ofcourse its IC you wrote the post in the game not on the forums.

I disagree, Daganev. I've actually had an argument with someone because she took what I said ICly as an attack on her player. This being a person I know has multiple alts at that. A little reminder of the fourth wall is quite nice every now and then.

Believe me, I'm taking a harder line with Hiriako than I normally would OOCly. He's turning into a bit of an ass to some people because his patience is just worn out!

It is the Fourth Wall Hiriako, to speak out to the audience or the players in any case with this game.


Oh, and I really dont blame you for sharing any of that stuff IC, and dont expect you to feel the same OOC Shorlen. Hopefully the new Heir or Heiress helps put us back on track, hopefully all the new people hopefully coming into Seren Leadership does.


Oh, and about curses...The Hartstone one is yes, the Heir position. Does not keep well, also, when the election goes up. I expect someone to contest Jitwix, Saran or Nejii. We usually have two elections at once.
