Thanks for all the answers. There's only one thing remaining I'd like to have clarified. Katana. As I said, I see claymores and greatswords all around. Would a katana-using human without runes be any good at PvP?

I would say it's considerably less viable than dual wielders using rapiers or hammers.

Use katanas for hunting.

A couple more questions, so I will continue in this thread.

What route would you go as a high-level non-artied human pureblade? I mean, damage or wounds? I'm completely new to the warriors' concerns, so please enlighten me, what stats would make a decent greatsword? A decent claymore?

Damage warriors don't really exist anymore. You would as a high level non artie'd warrior want 3 weapons. Your bashing katana, you damage claymore and your wounding greatsword.

When starting off, get a katana, a nice quick one. bash for gold, then get a greatsword. Finally when you can afford the 3rd sword get a claymore.

You would want if you have only one PvP sword tho, to get stats around 200(+/-)-450(+)-160(+/-) for a semi decent great sword. That would help with stacking wounds AND damage per swing. Later on when you can make a fully wounding gsword you want speed and prc.

Stats on a decent claymore would be like 340(+/-)-370(+/-)-170(+/-), though you would want to dam and speed to be high on this one if you could

Thanks for info, Ildaudid. Now I at least know what is my goal in the field of weaponry :)

Searching for the similar topics, I've found the "Best Basher" thread:

Heh, I'm not in the running, he wants just non-artifact builds. With artifacts, however, knights do become the most effective hunters.

You've hit it exactly. Critical hits and weapon stat runes, though the later are only needed by some weapon builds, not all.

Rune of Knight's Excellence : 1200 credits - An extra 6/100 criticals

So, these six percents can move knights to the top of the bashing classes?

Better invest those 1200cr in other arties!!
Or even better:
300cr for trans Planar +
300cr for trans Resilience +
500cr for Rune of Absorbtion +
100cr for fast weapons with nice damage.

And if you want to bu uber basher, then Human warrior BM/BC is what are you looking for.

Everyone was sayign that Mags bash faster, and at one point i belived them and switched from Paladin.
So to compare as Human Titan Paladin i was able to get up to 110 obesefessors in 30-40 minutes.
As Imperian Merian Titan Aquamancer with forcefield 30-50 fesixes was most what i could get in same time.
As Faeling Titan Aquamancer with forcefield 50-70 obesefessors in same time.

With absorbtion rune i wasnt trying yet, but i can be only more tanky. Only thing i noticed so far, but i wasnt bashing much yet, its that i do not have to use sparkles for fesixes, maybe only when there is 4+ of them in one room.

Wow...as a level 78 Mugwump Moondancer i was lucky to survive any linked astral mobs solo, let alone that many in such a short time.

Still, keep in mind that warrior hunting sucks horribly at low levels, is acceptable at middle levels, and then is amazing at high levels (at least, that's what I hear). So, if you're not willing to stick with it until you can bash like this, might not be a great choice.

Just remember there are only like 80 people in the entire game with a level 80/81 or higher.
Hiriako2006-11-28 16:34:31
About 120, actually. Many people hit 80 and stop hunting. Once you get to 81, then you have about 90 left.
Shryke2006-11-29 10:13:42
I'm one of the level 80's and stops.. been level 80 for like 4 OOC months
Ildaudid2006-11-29 18:38:58
I can't bash because of Shryke always making me test something for you damn system users of his.!!! sad.gif
