This font emanates an air of palpable authority strong enough to induce awe. It
is formed entirely of black marble and gold, the contrast drawing attention to
every tiny detail of craftsmanship, every miniscule carving that adds to the
aura of raw majesty. In each of the four corners of the room stands a different
tableau: in one corner a flame roars angrily, in another stands a bloodstained
Iron Maiden, in the third hangs a gleaming silver web, and in the fourth writhes
a mass of mutating flesh. A path of red stone lined with gold leads straight up

The poignant, lurking darkness present throughout the Silent Cathedral hangs in
an eerie pall here, and the meager light from elsewhere in the cathedral is
eagerly consumed by shadows that press in on all sides. A raised dais of purest
black marble lies in the center of the hall, the step leading to it engraved
with malevolent runes that seem to caution the danger of approaching, while a
massive ebony sculpture of Kether hangs suspended behind it. A twisted altar of
carved bone looms upon the dais, covered with a large golden chalice filled with
blood and surrounded by bleached skulls. The massive bones have been carved into
the form of the various races of the Basin, forming the base as they are bent
over and holding the table of the altar upon their backs. Two robed statues
kneel reverently with hooded heads bent down to either side of the altar.

Other loyal mobs to the same organisation.

I'm rather certain it is because they are loyal to Mag, and so is the person who was attacked, and so they jumped to the defence of a fellow Mag loyal, just like Tosha monks defend one another, and just like Peeps defend one another, etc. Two sentients loyal to the same org will defend each other if one is attacked while the other is in the room.

For that matter, you could probably do the same with pilgrims, scholars, or about anything else that follows you. Imagine what a following you could have...

You can't seduce pilgrims, their personalty type doesn't allow it (as far as I know). Not sure about the others, though.

Scholars used to be... friendly (?) personality type, but they were changed to intimidating soon after they were released (can't seduce intimidating). Almost everything that can follow as a result of a quest is intimidating for this reason. If beggars/kinsmen aren't, I hope they're made intimidating (even the kinsmen children!).

Actually, almost every denizen that follows as a result of a quest is uninfluencable for exactly that reason. The youths in Shanthmark, the people for the Delport quest, etc.
