I wish people were better at giving over relevent information when asking about what happened.

Though I do want to :stickpoke: Moralis.

In retrospect, I'm really enjoying that conversation I had with Rowena about Viravain being dead.

On one hand, old gods being retaken by new players means we don't suffer from god inflation.

On another hand, old gods being taken up by new players tend to be ruined, from the perspective of people who liked the old one.

You're assuming that this is not the same Viravain player as before, though.
Ixion2006-11-26 05:06:46
That's not an assumption.
Yuniko2006-11-26 05:15:34
Doesnt matter, glom still continues to be the pricks they were when viravain was there. nothings changed, people are trying to join and they are shunning them. I'm not talking about me either, for this matter. I'm pretty sure I recall Thoros talking to Shayle and she told him no matter how much time passes he'll never be allowed to join. How quaint.

Well I'm quite sure that there is a good reason, just like there is a good reason your not allowed in.

As I said, I don't care about me getting in. I'm talking about other people I speak to. I'm not allowed in because I caused a riot over whether it was tainted earlier. But I doubt that would be possible to do now, seeing as its now "wyrd"

Viravain isn't the problem anymore, it's the people in glom now, keeping it the way it use to be. Estarra tried taking viravain away to fix glomdoring, but they refuse to change, it seems.

Based off what Yuniko said, Glomdoring really does need a larger playerbase. If ONE high-up person goes inactive, it looks like everything falls apart. I said earlier that I see a large number of novices going into Glomdoring, hopefully they'll stay there. But like.. There is no Guildmaster or Administrator for the Blacktalon. No Champion for the Shadowdancers (Filling Diamante's shoes would be hard, though.), and thankfully.. the other guilds were filled with more active people in their positions.

I think Yuniko is right in that Glom needs to start allowing more people in! Sure, you'll get some riff-raff.. But that's to be expected with any organization, really. Hopefully, Viravain will take a less indirect approach to all of these things. It's all up to the players in Glom now. But, from my alt's perspective, things look like they're moving forward.. but very slowly. Ah well. Just another ramble from me. ninja.gif

Welcome back, Viravain.. In any case.

I'm not a grammar Nazi either, I hope. I'm just used to high grammar standards, and the absence of them is tiresome.

/derailed thread

I hate it when rumours get started on the forums.

Yes, Yuniko, that was a direct quote from Shayle, right? Honestly, people, know what? Just because you say something doesn't make it true. If you wish to spread bitter lies because you're frustrated that you can't get your way in a game, go for it, but no matter how many times you misquote or MAKE THINGS UP about my character, it still is as false as the first time.

Anyway, as this is a thread about Viravain. Yay, Viravain's back. I missed her. wub.gif

As far as I'm aware, the only person we've given an unequivocal "no" answer to in reference to joining is... Munsia. Who was subsequently kicked out of Magnagora, for the very reasons we told her no.

Yes, we expect a bit of roleplay from people who were branded "Irredeemable," as part of their regaining status in the eyes of the Glomdoring. I know I told you that repeatedly, Yuniko, in IC terms. BEFORE accepting your fine and unenemying you to the Forest. I told you that since you had roleplayed a divisive force in the Glomdoring, it would take some counter-roleplay to be "reaccepted". Unenemying is a start, but it's not the whole thing.

Thoros was also never told no. He was told that, at this time, that didn't seem to be a possibility-- but, again, with roleplay beyond "I would like to join you," that possibility is likely to open. Thoros also has a history with the Glomdoring, including a lovely little novice-type who was gravestoned at Rowena, a guild tutor, as well as us seeing him killing Magnagorans every day. However, he was not told "no way."

I'm sorry. We're not trying to be pricks, and we're willing to give chances. We've accepted quite a few people recently who we would NEVER have under the old system. It requires a little more than "I want to join" for someone who's done extensive damage to the Forest, however.

I think there's one person who we did slight, given that he hasn't done anything in an OOC year. Elryn. One person, out of quite a few who've been approaching us. I'm not quite sure how to proceed with that as it was a Court vote that decided to keep him listed as Irredeemable, but I've not completely given up on it.

I'm not sure why you'd say that asking for RolePlay constitutes shunning in a Role Playing Game, I'm afraid. Most organizations require some of this... I know the Serenwilde, at least, has asked for written letters in the past from certain prominent Magnagorans who wished to get unenemied, and Ixion was required to do a fair bit more (such as killing Glomdoring's Daughters of Night) when he wanted to actually join them, in order to "prove his loyalty". Is Serenwilde wrong in this case? Are they uncompromising, morally corrupt individuals because they didn't immediately trust Ixion?

I don't really think so.
Unknown2006-11-26 17:33:26
Yes, it does seem like they are changing. And in the past, people like Kaervas were rejected from Viravain's orders herself, but now he's a loyal Wyrdo. I agree with Xenthos about it being a hard road to join if you repeatedly attacked them. To be honest, community hopping to me seems a little trivial in this game.

I think the one thing I'd like to see more of from Glomdoring is a little more public diplomacy, such as a few more public news posts, maybe them codifying their non-secret rules in the Hall of Justice, etc (Serenwilde too, BTW). That might be helpful to indicate to the basin that things are changing somewhat.
