I'm attempting to make a map of New Celest with the zMUD mapping thing, but I'm not sure how to make a good one. Could someone give me some tips on what to do, as Celest is so awkward in the respect that it spirals around and still technically ascends using the same feat?

Start at the center and work outward, don't start at the outside and work in.

My best results came from covering all the rooms in Celest but the wall without using any up or down exits, then inserting them manually. As Gwylifar said, starting on the inside is easier.

Yes, start at the Pool of Stars and work your way outward in the spiral. Don't go up/down until you have all rooms on the elevation you are on. Connect them correctly. Drag and Drop and Right Click in zMud is your friend.

Celest is a bit boring to map as 90% of the room descriptions are copied over, the only thing that changes are the room titles. Try taking a walk through Magnagora some time, I love some of their descs, even if some others make the city look terribly dirty. tongue.gif

You can also map the up and down exits and then move them manually to stack on each other (ctl-m i think, it's also a menu option in the map window). Might be a little quicker.
