Good point, thank you, Ekard. I should have mentioned that. Strength has a major effect on your damage.

More advice: if you want just a PvE weapon, go for Speed. Precision matters only in PvP (affects deepwounds, and Shorlen already has written what deepwounds are), Damage affects PvE damage in a very small scale (STR affects it in a much greater way though). So just go for speed.
Speedy weapons are rapiers, hammers, katanas and I think klangaxes (could be wrong), for the specialisations respectively.
As for PvP, warriors kill with deepwounds. Even those who go for damage weapons kill with wounds, because they deal both damage and wounds and their opponent can heal only damage OR wounds with a health vial. It's tricky to use damage-heavy weapons though, so I'd use precision-based (scimitars, morningstars, claymores (maybe) and no-idea-axes) weaponry for PvP, or speed weapons with good precision (at least 180 for one handers, ~380 for two handers).
EDIT: As for races: Aslarans are not as powerful as they used to be, because the buffs have been generally nerfed (it wasn't such a big difference between 12+5 str and 15+5 str, but now that it's 12+3 and 15+3, the difference is bigger). Orclach, krokani and taurian are solid choices then (especially taurian, a very good race in my opinion), but NOT because of weapon specialisation - but rather by strength.
STR is the most important stat for a warrior. It affects damage AND deepwounds (some people think DEX affects deepwounds - true, it does. On paper. Its effect on deepwounds is negligible. 10 points of dex will give a smaller benefit than 1 point of STR. So strength and speed all the way).

If I were mean, I'd make a poll, how many people know what DSL'ing is or not.
And you'd find that the vast majority of us know exactly what it is.

Since DSL is an abbreviation, I assume I'd need to be on the FORUMS for other IRE games...
I take it you have not played Achaea?
Nico2006-11-30 16:52:06
You're all wrong. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong! The correct meaning of DSL is something not related to MUDs at all, and far naughtier
I think I'd get banned if I actually came out and said it on the forums though.
Anyways, as far as warriors go...yeah, I think mostly everything has been covered. However, I think it needs mentioning as to specifically why bashing speeds up for warriors post 70; no one seems to have explained it fully yet.
In Lusternia, post 70 bashing relies heavily upon getting critical hits. These hits can affect the damage output of your attack by various multipliers(2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x), depending on the type of critical. As you progress beyond 70, the rates of these criticals increases. Beyond 80, it increases even more. The reason why warriors excel beyond 80 though, is because we attack much faster than any other class out there, especially speed knights with fast weapons, and this directly affects how many criticals we get.
As Nico, an aslaran paladin with sacraments and bonecrushing, 275+ speed hammers plus champ helm and forging runes, I was combo'ing every 2.5 seconds, roughly. Add in my tankiness (7000+ hitpoints with tosha/con platters), innate damage resists, and numen, and I could bash quite well.

Str = amount of deepwounds your weapon gives.
Dex = chance of any given deepwound affliction triggering.
It is why low dex races such as Igasho give more deepwounds but the chances of them getting someone in a pinleg/rend groove is fairly low.

Not that much of an effect with maneouvers being available. And even with a big chance to cause a wounding affliction, you still need the actual wounding level for it to take place.
Also, Igasho don't stick many afflictions because of their balance penalty, not low dex. Dexterity doesn't seem to affect the affliction rate THAT much from my experience.

Yes, because Igasho wielding rapiers are so exceedingly slow.
Igasho don't stick many afflictions because their affliction rate is low not because of their balance penalty. Any decent blademaster can stagger his strikes to rendwhore so that balance penalties are a very minimal influence.

I'm an igasho with 280 speed rapiers and regain balance every 5-6 seconds when bashing. It's a lot longer using everything else.

Yeah, something I've noticed is that a lot of Serenguard at least tend to utterly ignore athletics. I've seen a bunch of people with mythical or transcended knighthood and totems/hunting who are...novice in athletics. Come on, people. Athletics may not be shiny and pretty, but it keeps you alive very well. Regeneration, regeneration, regeneration. A little strength can't hurt either!

There is something wrong there... as a Tae'dae with 305 speed weapons I get 3 seconds flat. (it might be 4 seconds, but I'm pretty sure its 3)
