So what's needed in playing figurines? Never knew they existed till mentioned here.
Hiriako2006-12-01 04:59:17
I do have Pyrinne sketches, with full intent of making a figurine from them!
Vix2006-12-01 05:01:28
Some marble (I think 5) and two powerstones, but the powerstones don't have to be full. Preferably empty since enchanters and alchemists reeeeally need them. A jeweler makes them from that stuff. Then you get someone with Arts to model it into a shape. Then you get an enchanter to enchant it.
Additionally, the other trade skills have their own add-ons. Artisans build the rings; Alchemists coat them in quicksilver so they attack faster; Poisonists coat them in crotamine to make them use a poison attack; Tailors give them miniature cloaks to resist poison (these were bugged last I heard); Blacksmiths make miniature claws and helmets; Herbalists pack sparkleberries into them so they can heal themselves; Cooks make minimeals which make them stronger. Whew. Only one Alchemist, Poisonist, or Blacksmith addition can be used at a time.

There's also bookbinders being able to dip them in magic ink for a shield type thing. Most likely need to provide your own magic ink for this as it's expensive and I don't think bookbinders are really willing to use an entire vial on a figurine.
Vix2006-12-01 05:10:35
Drat. Knew I forgot something. Anyways, figurines are super expensive and mainly just for bragging rights if anything.
Anarias2006-12-01 05:10:41
It should be 2 marble, 2 powerstone and 1 gold to make a figurine.
Mire2006-12-01 05:27:12
Yes, that's it. Also, I'm trying to compile all the information on figurines in the ScryingPool, so if you have anything to contribute there, it would be much appreciated. I hope to also get a list up there of players interested in battles, along with the levels of their figurines.
Richter2006-12-02 03:31:54
I suggested ways to mainstream figurines, suggestions that would be really easy to implement, but nothing seems to have happened, and I'm afraid the system is going to waste. The comms need to be reduced, and the skills need to be lower, like at master rank.
And I still think my Kethuru one is the best.

Well, I've begun filling in the information on the Scrying Pool. It's under "Games and Miniatures" - any help would be really appreciated. If you're interested in figurine battles, add your name to the "Players" section along with the level of your figurine(s).

I had a Glugnus figurine. That's the permanently-drunken dwarf from Southgard, who can sew and drink simultaneously.
If you ask me, figurines should have their decay time longered, to 200-300 months like jewellery and weapons. Also, make them repairable and scratch month decay after losing - that's what levels are for.
There could also be an option to "tonedown" your figurine, so that it fights like if it had a smaller level. That'd solve the problems with having a level 35 figurine and no one to fight against.

Has there ever been enough interest to hold a tournament of some sort? It would be nice if we could get maybe a biannual thing going, perhaps hosted by Richter in Deepnight if he's willing, or even a Divine?
Nepthysia2006-12-02 21:43:22
-flop- I wannaaaa! tehehe *flaps her arms* Mire you and I should start this clan thing and hold the darn tournies ourselves
Neppy got made fun of by Dvyrus when I was playing with my figurines in the guild hall rofl.
I had started out with one of each Demon Lord and Lady and now I 'm down to Baalphegar, Gorgulu, and Luciphage. Luciphage is up to level 5 now, hes awesome

Chief among the Demon Lords of Nil is Supreme Master Luciphage, also known as the Dominator of the
Midnight Legions. He is extraordinarily handsome with chiseled features and a mane of black hair
that falls over his shoulders in thick, lustrous strands. His skin is a deep carnelian red and his
eyes are black orbs with pupils of red fire. A barbed tail occasionally twitches from under his rich
black robes that spread across the floor in puddles of silk. The borders of these robes are
inscribed with golden sigils that squirm and twist on the fabric. He wields an ebony staff that has
affixed to the top a golden skull with eye sockets set with two huge, black diamonds. Radiating from
the Supreme Master of Nil is a dark aura so evil and foreboding that even the most sanctified of
beings would be hard-pressed not to feel damned in Luciphage's crepuscular presence.
It has 34 months of usefulness left.
It appears to be of level 5.
It weighs about 31 pounds.

Wow - and with no add-ons, either? That's impressive! I'd love to be in a clan, finding opponents otherwise is just too hard.
Richter2006-12-03 01:15:53
There's already a clan for it, isn't there like a mini Klangratch tournies?
And feel free to use my rings, there's one in my plaza, and one ne, w of it in my inn, both with stasis fields.

Got a stasised ring in the Gaming corner of the Attai manse if anyone wants to use it as well, just north of the fulcrux.
Unknown2006-12-03 01:30:05
I think we need to visit that Attai place and break a few legs.
