I'm Ellendar, and I don't know when or if you’re on at any given time. tongue.gif I finally got the level/rupee requirement to found a guild so we've got the guild called Lusternia up and running, with a nice little modified version of lusternia's TMS icon as our guild icon. I hope Estara doesn't sue me for copyright infringement or something. unsure.gif It's, extra advertising in another game! ya that's right! igetit.gif

Anywho, hope to see more of you around, we've got a few people popping in and out at random times already. wink.gif
Jillian2006-12-02 12:23:27
Downloading while doing college work.
Tzara2006-12-02 19:33:57
I'm about on the same server that Avaer mentioned, as well. I've also plumbed the very depths of my creativity, and decided to name my character Tzara.

Feel free to give me a PM, anyone that may see me about.
Reiha2006-12-02 19:50:43
Gonna download, name will be Reiha. Or Lilirumantrx.
Ildaudid2006-12-02 20:34:42
Made some half naked assassin guy named ildaudid.... will meet up with you all when I get the chance.... I ran into KarmaKitten and Chaoz last night... yay!! I thought I was in the WoW SouthPark episode.... I still need to figure out how to get a damn weapon, since beating up giant cats with my fists, does not seem to fare well

edit- Reiha you should be known as Reiha, that other name is too hard for a simpleton like me to type smile.gif
Tzekelkan2006-12-02 22:23:11
I'm downloading it now. I'll be joining you guys as Tzekelkan, for your typing pleasure, of course.
Shorlen2006-12-02 22:31:46
I can't stand the horrendous lag that results when there are more than 5 people on the screen. I get one minute ping times, and then die sad.gif Really frustrating.

I've also learned to hate the french, but this is nothing new. There's a french guild of killstealers who also randomly go around killing people for the heck of it.

I'm impressed though by the sheer number of places they stole all their content ideas from, and the fact that they managed to somehow avoid making up even one single unique feature themselves.

It's not a bad game though for being free.
Tzekelkan2006-12-03 00:29:06
Does your race matter when joining a guild? For example, can I join a Deva guild if I'm the other race? (I forgot what it was called, but it was evil)

If I can't join mixed guilds, what race are the Lusternians?

Way to concentrate on all the negatives. tongue.gif

There are a lot more people that are nice in this game then are jerks. (I haven't been pk'ed myself, and there are HEAVY penalties for doing so when someone doesn't have the pk mode on) I love when I'm just walking somewhere and someone randomly buffs me just because they think I might like it. wink.gif

I had the same problem when I first started. You start out with a newbie weapon and newbie armor (even before you start the first quest at the person within view of you with the lightning bolt above their head), however the starting newbie quests give you a non-newbie weapon (though still rank 1) armor, a chaos necklace eventually, and a swarm of potions and forcechips(very useful little things!) and most importantly all quests give you Rupees! and experience! and.. job points! wub.gif

I thought the newbie quests were going to be "left click to move! click on a monster to select it!" and they weren't, they explain the game nicely, I think I was still a -bit- confused about creatures and needed help with that after the newbie creature quest, but most of the other ones are abnormally helpful, for newbie quests.

A Quick? overview of some unique things I had some trouble with at first:

Rank1 items, minimal level 1 (you can buy this stuff in the trainee camp)

Rank2 items, minimal level 20 (you’ll start working toward getting these things after you’ve reached the mainland, and with all the lak’s you’ve saved up, and searching for discounts in player shops, it’s not to bad to get, though still quite draining on your rupees)

Rank3 items, minimal level 50 (don’t even worry about this, this is light-years away for all of us.)

Defense cubes: These put a +(number) do the start of an item, you can safely apply 4 to an item without a chance of things going terribly wrong and they directly apply more physical defense to an item, they also seem to work best on your suit of armor, rather then on gloves or shoes(get your most for your rupees!). You need basic combination to be able to apply cubes to armors (cubes are expensive, do not place them on Rank 1 armors)

Blacksmith upgrades! Woot they’re less expensive at first, there’s a lot of them available, they stack favorably with defense cubes, and there is never a chance of failing. (at the higher level blacksmithing becomes more expensive though)

Skill Cards: Cards can be applied to the skill they are associated with; I was horribly confused about these at first. Cards are the most expensive of the upgrades. Once you have a skill card you open your item window and skill window, and drag the card over to the gray after image of a card before the skill, the skill will now be benefited in some way (less mp to cast, less time to cast, slower cool down time, bigger damage, longer effect, the effects vary but they’re very useful) 2 level 1 skill cards can be combined to give you a lvl 2 skill card (that has even better bonuses) but there is a 33% chance that both cards will be destroyed in the combining. Two lvl 2 cards can also be combined for an awesome lvl 3 card, there is a 66% chance of failure in that combination.. mostly skill-cards are uber, but rare, expensive in player-shops, and have that big chance to fail when you're combining.

Creature Cards: Woot one of the things I like most! There are two types of creature cards, mounts and pets. Mounts you buy from creature-person in a town and are pretty self explanatory, you’ll need to go fishing in menu->control for mount and pet related hotkeys. Mounts last a set time, you get a 1-hour lasting mount as part of the newbie quests, on the mainland mounts last 6 hours (I’ve heard, I haven’t gotten one myself) Mounts let you move faster! Much faster! You can’t attack or cast skills from the back of mounts, just think of them as a speed boost, not to be used while your fighting.

Creature cards are getting bulky so this is where I’ll talk about pet creature cards, first of all you need to find a Poultry card (empty) or Tortus card (empty) or Pantera card (empty). Think of this has a poke’ball or something >_> or yugioh? I don’t follow those things much. Anyway now to make sure you have the skills needed you’ll need at least level 1 creature taming (though higher levels of creature taming give you an increased chance of success, lvl 1 starts at a 5% chance) cast the skill on an undamaged creature, then kill it (beating it into submission) then you’re 5% chance will roll… hope for the best I failed a few times myself at first, but I got a tortie eventually happy.gif Now you’ll need lvl 1 creature control to have 1 creature available to you and lvl 2 creature control to have a mount and a pet at the same time . You’ll also need lvl 1 creature summon to actually call the creature, and lvl 1 creature recall to poof it back to where it came from or recall/summon if it’s lost from you and esc/esc/esc doesn’t call it back. (Pets don’t have the best pathfinding so it happens sometimes that they’ll get stuck behind a tree or rock in the way.) Anyway, now that you’ve got the skills to make it useful, and a full card, talk to the creature-person in your town, “crea” in the trainee town, she’s got an option for you to manage your creatures which you can then place your full and successfully captured creature into that slot. Ya! You can now summon your pet whenever you want with your summon skill! Your pet levels up just like you do, when it’s following you around and summoned, your pet gains job points and experience at every kill just like you do, and has various passive skills that benefit it. (You also have creature mastery, which benefits all your creatures, not just your current one)

I think that is most of what confused me because it was unique about Rapellz compared to any other game I’ve played. Though we’re trying to fill out the guild, and that’s a great place to ask questions at the moment. wink.gif

If I can't join mixed guilds, what race are the Lusternians?
Race is a prereq for classes, the Deva are generally the most tankie in their classes, the ashura are generally the most offensive, and the Gaian seem to have the most nifty array of different skills at their disposal. The Deva Warrior is the Holy Warrior and is the tankiest tank in the world, the ashura warrior is a pesudo-thiefy person who attacks very fast, dodges a lot and does a heck of a lot of damage, The Deva magic mainstay, the Cleric is a buffer with a lot of healing and curing spells, whereas the Ashura magiker is the Black Magician, who has the most pwning high-damage long-range spells in the game.

Race has little bearing on your options, other then what town should be where you hunt until you have rank2 items (your town will have all the rank2 items for you, another town might have some, with hat/glove/shoe overlaps, but won't be selling your race specific armor/weapon most likely) Guilds are not restricted to set races at all. You can also teleport between the three starting towns for 500 rupees, so it's not like we don't all hunt together for quests either. wink.gif
Mirk2006-12-03 01:17:36
I have a character named Terrab, who's a Gaian spellsinger.
Would you mind inviting me to the guild?
Unknown2006-12-03 01:27:08
I'll try to invite Terrab, Tzeklkan, Ildaudid, Reiha, Lilirumantrx, Tzara, and Lysandus, I'm not sure if it'll go through if we're not on at the same time. If you don't get an invite try whispering to Ellendar, I should be on for the next 10-15ish hours.

Edit:Sometimes there is a problem when the inviter or the invitee are fighting or questing and the invite doesn't go through for some reason, I'll keep trying every once in awhile though.
Jillian2006-12-03 01:41:26
Currently playing as Myrhial, wouldn't mind a guildinvite. Also, how does the friendlist of this game work, can't seem to figure it out.
Lysandus2006-12-03 01:51:00
heard it's not yet implemented, still working on it so... meh.
Unknown2006-12-03 01:56:47
I'm updating it as we speak. My character will be Laneth, of course.
