Okay, before I post this as a bug, I just want to know how many imbued items are needed. Some say that it's 4 in the main shrine while 1 on the surrounding areas. However, I have offered more than 4 items to the main shrine (6 to be exact) and still no sign of sanctification. Will it tell you that this place is sanctified or not?
Need help here please.

Are you just OFFERing ITEM, or OFFERing ITEM TO SANCTIFY?
Because it's 100,000 essence to fully sanctify the shrine, and 100,000 for each area around it. A fully imbued item is 65,535 essence. Thus, 150% esteem will pretty much fully sanctify the shrine and each area around (it'll be 1700 essence short).
Edit: I think 153% will do it completely, just for exactness' sake.

I'm doing OFFER - TO SANCTIFY

I'm doing OFFER
I have to get to class, but just for the sake of being complete-- could you paste item, % imbued, message when you offer, location, and shrine type? Somebody else may be able to answer before I get back, but either way, knowing all the relevant details is good. (Because yes, it should tell you when it's fully sanctified)
Lysandus2006-12-11 15:06:46
offer tint to sanctify
You make your offering, praying for the sanctification of this location to
Elostian.
that's just it.
EDIT:
Okay so it says that "You may not sanctify anything here." Is that a good thing or not? (I'm sanctifying the same place) aaand another thing.
Lost in dense undergrowth in the mountains.
The area is suffused with an eerie, deep blue light, signifying a healing shrine of Elostian nearby. Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. <--- the place I offered my tint
Pushing through heavy undergrowth in the mountains.
Superimposed over this location, an ethereal forest reaches up to the sky. <--- place next the shrine and I'm able to offer corpses to sanctify, is this normal?

When it's fully sanctified, it should say "This place is already as sanctified as it can be." or something along those lines.
It's sounding like a bug.
Yes, sanctifying the room next to it (with corpses or esteem) should work-- but it should also have a room influence message (Soft chanting floats through the air, evidence of an Elostian shrine of healing nearby... for example).

I have seen that message before as an indication that the location is fully sanctified. Whether it's a bug or no, I don't know.

There used to be a bug about that, and it actually made some shrines really easy to take down 'fully sanctified' was only as strong as 1 weevil. >_< Though the shrines disappeared when Lis did (thank god at least for one immortal cleaning up after themselves when they leave) and I hadn't witnessed anything like that since so I assumed it was fixed.
QFT. Orders with inactive gods are just sad.. sorry to say. ( I -know- how much it hurts to just have the order ripped to pieces totally out of the blue.. but I still say inactive orders should be cleaned up). That said, I'm -still- enemied to Raezon and Shikari.
And on topic, last I tried it gave that 'You may not sanctify' message when it was fully sanctified. Maybe a bug, I don't know, I've never seen any other message since the shrine changes.
Shamarah2006-12-11 18:42:59
I'm pretty sure it's just 1 fully imbued item to sanctify a shrine and 1 fully imbued item to take down a shrine.
Sarrasri2006-12-11 18:44:45
The "You may not sanctify" message came after a bug was fixed with sanctifying. Before, if you had 15 rooms started, you couldn't finish them just because you had 15 rooms started. It recognized them all as sanctified already. Also, it used to take a corpse if you tried to sanctify a fully sanctify a room. So, if it is a bug, I'd rather have that than non-finished rooms being permanantly unsanctifiable. It lets you know when a room's sanctified and it no longer takes a corpse from you or whatever you're sanctifying with.

Well, if you only sanctify with one... sure, it only takes one to take it down.
However, a fully imbued item is 65535 essence, and a shrine area uses up to 100,000 essence for sanctifying.
Gandal2006-12-12 00:19:03
65535 essence, and 15k for that is overpriced...how?

It's roughly equivalent to fully clearing Glom twice? I think you have a questionable sense of how much a point of essence is.

Its overpriced because I sell them for 8 or 9k each

1 essence == 1 gold, since that's how much essence is gained per gold if you offer gold.

It's not a very accurate tradeoff, though, since by that a gorgog is worth 1000 gold (it's not if you sell it to Marinus).
Corpses... and esteem... are both far more effective than gold, and more cost-effective.
Daganev2006-12-12 01:06:57
But it is the miniumum value.
The rest is just a question of the market deciding the price.

My fault sis.. I didn't unenemy you to Raezon.. no one had privs but myself. On the positive side, you can't be hit by their shrine powers anyway so it's just a label and nothing more.
