I feel all aetherbubbles should be buffed to make it "worth the effort."
==========+==========
The Issues
+ Aetherbubbles are more difficult to reach than most other areas. They require an Aethership, which is a large investment.
+ Communication is blocked on Aetherbubbles. There is no chit chat with your friends/buddies. The ability to stop and do something else is limited (ie. If your city is under attack, you cannot just zoom to the rescue).
+ If you die in an Aetherbubble, your Aethership is stuck there.
+ The experience, esteem, karma, and gold potential on Aetherbubbles is fairly bleh. There is no real advantage to justify the effort.
==========+==========
Suggestions
+ Make creatures in Aetherbubbles give more experience/esteem (ie. Crumkindivia started off an -awesome- influencing/bashing area. The gingerbread men were tough as crap, but they also were definately worth the hassle to travel there and influence/bash them. Why did that change?)
+ Make quests in Aetherbubbles have higher/better rewards (more gold, more karma, more experience, etc).
+ For future aetherbubbles, I would like to suggest a freakishly difficult place that would require small to large teams to effectively bash -but- be rewarding enough to justify the effort.

Agreed, agreed, agreed.
Bashing in an aetherbubble is a huge risk - get jumped there and you have to organize a huge effort to retrieve your ship. That, or pay a few hundred credits for a whistle.

Getting your ship back just requires you to borrow someone's whistle
Shamarah2006-12-09 23:30:57
Agreed.
And the only person in the entire game who has a whistle is Reiha.

We need an aetherbubble with... ZOMBIES
A large corporate building filled with CHAINSAW-WIELDING ZOMBIES, WALL-CRAWLING ZOMBIES, FAT ZOMBIES, SEWER ZOMBIES, ZOMBIES WITH LIMBS PROTRUDING FROM UNKNOWN AREAS, AND BABE ZOMBIES. (*had just played House of the Dead 4*)
But er... yeah. More xp would be great, though I've only hunted primarily in Candyland. I find the gold isn't too bad actually, if you complete the entire quest, but the xp gained from the quest and hunting altogether is hardly noticeable.

Oh, definitely. The only aetherbubble worth the experience as of yet is Crumkindivia. And even then, it's only worth going there if you want to hunt both the peeps and the gingerbread men. Of course, if you do that, then you're enemied to both organizations and can't retrieve gold for the corpses...
There should be an aetherbubble primarily for bashing, with all of the creatures "air of extreme strength" when considered. And a place to turn in their corpses. One of the reasons gorgogs are so overbashed is because of the experience and karma gained from turning in their corpses. 25 gorgogs give me 12+ karma, and is in itself a marvelous way to gain experience. I've gained two or three of the past ten levels from turning in gorgog corpses. Sharks, on the other hand, rarely give me even one percent of karma, which in turn is very little experience, when turned in to the fishmonger. If there were to be an area with plenty of strong creatures that give 75+ gold per corpse AND as much karma as gorgog corpses, I'm sure there would be plenty of action there.

I have a bunch of gold and credits saved away to buy myself an aethership, but I agree with narsrim, and never decided to spend that gold or credits (including the whistle) because I havn't found the rewards worth it on a personal level. And I hate needing other people to do things (such as the really nice Aetherpirate gnome trading thing)
Although I do think that (candyland) might have been a bit too imbalancing in regards to influence and gold output. I imagine a small team of Hyper influencers and Bashers could have a sumit to figure out what would be worth it, but not mess up the market in such a way that aetherships become a requirment instead of a fringe benefit.

I find that sharks drop a wonderfull amount of gold, and are great for offering to gods, giving you plenty of karma for that activity.

At around level 60-70 I think I was able to get a level every run or two when I was influencing the Cookie men nearly every hour (ahh back when no one seemed to go there *wipes a tear away*) since the nerf it seems closer to the guards and it's a pain to get there when I can just go to all the towns and get more experience alot faster.
I'd be happy if some of the aetherbubble influenceables gave more experience close to or more than the moon ladies would be nice.
And as for bashing maybe a nesting grounds for the aetherbeasts, letting people hunt the creatures from the recent event for experience?

You are holding:
"whistle103756" an algontherine whistle
Anyway, my suggestion is that there be a service like the ship from Magnagora to Spectre isle. It'd be a price based on the distance, and the ships would come in at set times, so if you missed it, you might have to wait a little bit. That's a great idea in itself, but if possible, maybe have the whole journey on the ship actually showing you moving through aetherspace, like if you were sitting in a ship with someone else piloting (and give it widescreen and the artifact, so it looks nice and big).
There, fixed!

At 98 I got around 1% for a Crumkindivia run. 4-5% was the astral standard.
The old gingerbread gold was a bit insane I think, but the esteem should be increased to around double what it is right now.

Yes, I like this idea! Are there no player-run "ferries" that already do this?
Richter2006-12-10 23:22:48
Player run? If I didn't have more important things to do, I suppose I could ferry people around.

It would be so incredibly boring it would not be worth it for the gold.
Gold is nice and all, but after all, we are playing a game to have fun!

An aetherbubble with a fragment of Ackleberry, with zombie furrikin - the Taint made it in after all! Help the zombies or the pure, but be sure to make money and search for the link to the main forest.

And get rid of runt pyrinnes plz, kthxbai.
I'd be exploring aetherbubbles if I wouldn't get killed by the resident pyrinnes.

Relative to the non-runts they aren't. Relative to linked astral mobs, they're still very strong. Blackout + aeon is nasty.
