I've watched people be city disfavored and end up favored again all in either the same day or the next. Now, unless I'm mistaken this does nothing but nullify the punishment. It seems to me that city leadership is either communicating horribly or purposely going against one another. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen nearly every time I've seen someone punished in this way. It seems to happen more if the person is well liked/popular.
What's my point to this? Nothing at all other than one of those eye-rolling moments.
Discuss if you want...

I agree, though I almost favoured someone cause they were disfavoured twice and I somewhat shared the same opinion with them on something, while a countess on the Iron Council and Divine didn't
Edit: to clarify I'm no longer on the Council

IC leadership people are usually pushed into the job, hate it and suck at it? Combatants above IC law? NO WAI!

They're not in my guild now we've gotten rid of Narsrim >.>
Anisu2006-12-10 06:21:12
it really depends, for example I was CDFed last week and then got CFed to cancel it out because the CDF was not justified. Sometimes people are to quick to CDF that the council has to undo it.
Other times someone is CDFed for reason, but something like a village influence happens where they help out very well, then the CF is unrelated, it's not because you got CDFed that you shouldn't be rewarded for a job well done afterwards.
And then there are ofcourse people that are always cr6 because they have friends that are CR6 and they don't care what they deserve or not.

Some Iron Council members are alts of Bau and thus are prone to ruining things.

Half of Lusternia are alts of Bau.

I think I know one of her alts, she's a sweetheart to me
Otherwise, you can ask her yourself, she's still active

She looks like anybody you see on the street. But when she grins, birds fall dead off telephone lines. When she looks at you a certain way, your prostate goes bad and your urine burns. The grass yellows up and dies where she spits. She's always outside. She came out of time. She doesn't know herself. She has the name of a thousand demons. Jesus knocked her into a herd of pigs once. Her name is Legion. She's afraid of us. We're inside. She knows magic. She can call the wolves and live in the crows. She's the queen of nowhere. But she's afraid of us. She's afraid of . . . inside.

She's my IC mother, she is accually quite nice and interresting (when she doesn't threaten to disown me )
plus she can put up with me, which in general is quite a feat, so hurray for Bau!

Enough with the personal attacks aimed at players. Please stay on topic or I'll close the thread.

Only Visaeris was making a personal attack; I was making an obscure joke. Please try to ascertain intention and meaning before jumping to conclusions, when faced with a non-obvious posting. Thank you.

Clearly my posting was directed toward those attacking the player and not those making "jokes". If you were not guilty of such and offense then you need not have responded in such a defensive way, Verithrax.
Topic at hand....In Game Punishments...

You kind of ruined it by saying her name is Legion, though.

She's someone with many characters across the IRE games, and I swear, if you're in a family somewhere, you're more than likely related to one of her characters. She's a bright young woman, terribly attractive, and spends too much time in front of the computer.
Suppose the thread -was- about in-game punishments though.
You know, I've always been a fan of creative punishments, whether the were divine (Haj's flaming paintings, anyone?) or mortal.
Shamarah2006-12-10 12:32:45
The thing Verithrax posted was a (bastardized) quote from The Stand.
Anyway: CDFs are usually undone pretty quickly because it's disadvantageous to have prominent city members that aren't CR6. Since cityrank is so necessary to help in influence, CFs are usually given rather freely in Lusternia (unlike other IRE games where they seem to be given extremely sparingly) so it's usually not long before you get one back to cancel the disfavour. A disfavour is usually more an expression of disappointment than anything. A real punishment is powerblocking.

I still enjoy the idea of having a jail.
Make an extra area, put a door in each "cell. Have each door locked with all three sigils inside. Leave them in there for a few hours. If we can capture an enemy somehow, leave him there to rot. Of course, moonbeam would be a way to break out unless it's changed...
