Captain Avarath says, "It is Magnagora's mistake for not watching over him or
hearing his calls for help."
Amen. When it happened last time it doesn't take much intelligence to keep guards at the megalith.
It's an embarassment and degredation of the city as a whole to have the nexus's keeper slain.
Gandal2006-12-11 03:00:53
Why are there so few guards in Mag anyway? I took a glance in, and sometimes the gates weren't even guarded.
Reiha2006-12-11 03:07:54
We don't need to have the layout/buffs changed, we need to be less... what's the polite word ... I'll go with "lazy'.
ur'Guard responsiblity to put guards everywhere... probably my fault, Ildaudid usually does it, but I've been distracting him with other things. But I thought security could set up guards
But nice RP, must be Morg's player at work again I have a feeling he was the cook hitting on Hraddon, too...*cough*

All Security members have access to placement and calling of guards from Nexuses and Obelisks for their own Guilds.
Gandal2006-12-11 03:10:58
Then they're lazy
Reiha2006-12-11 03:12:31
Or afraid of Aiakon getting mad at them for using so much power *dun dun dun*

Your City's defense when it comes to Power shouldnt be too much of a concern, at least for spending it on Guards to protect the Citizens and Denizens.

Umm Ur'Guard responsibility? I think that I have been asked why I have pulled out so many guards before, and I think Geo's should be sinking those elemental things as well as Nihilists calling plauge lords... I do not think it is completely an Ur'Guard responsibility.

Unless someone dismissed them, the elementals are everywhere where they need to be, I made sure of that before I quit GM. Sort of. Forgot about the Plague Lords, though, they are pretty awesome.
Lysandus2006-12-11 04:34:39
I don't understand sometimes why some Organizations used a lot of this guilds guards rather than mixing all three for maximum effectiveness? Elementals can hinder people, Plaguelords and Archons can do afflictions (I think) and the Warrior guards can do the kill. Just don't get it

Celest does... At least at the gates they do. And you can only have 1 elemental in each room.

Guards are reaaallyyyyy expensive. Aiakon will be marginally less bothered for the next two years, because we won nodes.
But the problem is this: leave a small number of guards together.. they become bashing material for the other side. 4 or 5 guards are often absolutely no use. That means, in order to have anything guarded on prime you basically need a minimum of 12 to 16. That's about as much as a village's monthly contribution to summon, and a similar amount to maintain. On somewhere like Nil or Earth, where the dangers for a group of raiders are less... you need at least 25.
At all the important locations, there are Elementals infused. You won't see them, because when they aren't infused, a novice could bash them.. so it's pretty much mandatory to keep them underground.

Or.. you know, you could take a look at that guard proposal that was posted in the council a whiiiile back. And no one probably ever read it. It's an alternative setup.

Yeah it was a great setup, I don't really know why it wasn't implemented...

If it was posted, I read it. But if I wasn't in any position to do anything about it at the time when I read it, it won't have stuck in my memory.

I think you were still inactive at the time it was posted actually... but feel free to read back! It would be a shame to drop that idea without at least -discussing- it.
