what would've happened if those shields would've stayed up long enough? Can we say that Glomdoring is the origin of all evil that will exterminate our current world?
Shorlen2006-12-23 20:08:44
Clever shields raised too late - the damage was already done.

Indeed. It was already too late-- hence us believing that the shield was of little use. happy.gif

Been hammering away at a body section for awhile. It doesn't seem to want to die. sad.gif

Man, I'd love the experience from that. cloud9.gif

Watched it as long as I could, got to just over 1300 willpower. Tried to bodysnap and boom. Stuck in dreaming. Just around the time it ran into the sewers. tongue.gif

This is all Glomdoring's fault for harboring serpents. Burn the Tainted forest!

EDIT: My sources inform me that the Taint is also leaving Glomdoring, but let's torch it anyway! mash mash mash

Yeah, one of my gripes about dreamweaving, all willpower/endurance skills, if you can't afford them, train all the willpower/endurance that you have and then fail, rather than just telling you you can't do that sad.gif

It is not unique to dreamweaving.

Err, yes, I am fully aware of this, it doesn't stop it from being one of my gripes about Dreamweaving, the first skillset I've had that has endurance/willpower costs in the thousands...

Glomdoring knows Raven once more, it seems, but likely they still have Crow's powers.

I just wonder what would happen if Lady Viravain comes back early.

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "Bloody shite! What is going
on!"

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "Where are the blasted Elder
Gods!"

I so wanted to shout, "On Christmas break." but I figured the shrubbing wouldn't be worth it biggrin.gif

EDIT: I Did: and cutted out all the stupid coments.
...................................................

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "Where are the blasted Elder
Gods!"

Blinded Acolyte Liconius, Servant of the Five shouts, "They went into the
void."

Honorable Taurian Kalas Kuse shouts, "I hope the city is saved."

Destroyer of Minds, Revan Xandul, Dirty Old Man shouts, "They went into the
Void, Lady Estarra."

Lady Malicia La'Saet, Blade Inquisitor shouts, "They have left to the void,
Lady."

Postulant Yevah, Missionary of Light shouts, "To found the source."

Sir Liberus Hodinai Jigan, Hodinifu of the Dove shouts, "They went to find the
home of these creatures."

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "Very well. I will deal with
this myself."

The clouds part and Estarra appears over Magnagora, surrounding by shimmering
waves of power. Below her, the gargantuan serpent raises its head and hisses.

Estarra, the Eternal swoops down and grasps the creature by the neck, burying
her fingers deep within the creature's throat and violently wrenching the
enormous serpent into the firmament. Reality shudders as the fabric of creation
ripples, causing Estarra to immediately let go and send the serpent plummeting
to the ground, where the earth splits and heaves a mighty groan at the weight
of the creature as she strikes.

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "This creature seems to have
woven herself not only into the roots of the Basin but into creation itself.
Mortals! Come to Avechna's Peak and advise me!"

Destroyer of Minds, Revan Xandul, Dirty Old Man shouts, "Estarra, there is more
to this than it seems. This is a part of prophesy. I bid You let us explain the
current situation."

Before Avechna the Avenger.
Avechna the Avenger towers before you, radiating a powerful aura. An enormous
black crow flies here with gigantic wings spread. A taint wyrm is coiled on the
ground here, spoiling the air with its corrosive stench. Towering above you,
this massive mammoth has a thick, shaggy hide and long yellowed tusks. A wiccan
broom floats here, vibrating with energy.

--Lot of people sniped--

Estarra ponders the situation.

Estarra, the Eternal says, "The Warlord speaks for Magnagora. Who speaks for
the communes and Celest?"

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "I speak for the
Glomdoring, Lady Estarra."

Vanthan writes "I will speak for Celest"

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "I will speak
for the Serenwilde."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Laysus for Serenwilde."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Who for New Celest?"

Krellan says, "Vanthan."

Vanthan coughs softly.

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Very well."

Krellan says, "Well he'll be writing anyways."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Warlord, this thing is in your city. What is your
advice?

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Hmm."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Think the answer may
lay in the verses."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Let us just have the Warlord, Shayle, Laysus and
Vanthan speak."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "What do these verses mean?"

Lord General Vanthan Tregon, Hope's Sentinel says, "It has b--n discerned that
th-y signal the -nd of re-ality, or sp-eculated on what th-ey portend."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Reality will not end on my watch!"

Estarra, the Eternal mumbles, "I hope."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Hmm."

Lord General Vanthan Tregon, Hope's Sentinel says, "As is what has b--n writt-n
has com- to pass so far."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Shayle, what is your advice or view?"

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "The latest public posting
shows a verse that mentions a possible hope."

Estarra, the Eternal asks, "Yes?"

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "It would seem that
working out what the "salvation of creation" is."

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "It has been
hypothesised that it refers to Kethuru."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "And finding this
so-called "poison spigot"."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "Would be advisable."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Kethuru is the salvation of creation?"

Krellan says, "I think they mean the seals that contain him."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "Aren't You, Lady Estarra,
this?"

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "No, the verse
refers to Him, rather. The salvation, as Tully suggests is more likely to do
with Avechna or the Seals."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Let only the leaders are speaking."

Lord General Vanthan Tregon, Hope's Sentinel says, "It has b--n speculated that
the s-als are being referr-d to, possibly even th on- that Lady Viravain
tapp-d."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Someone speak plainly. What are you suggesting?"

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Yes, it does seem
likely that the reference to the salvation of creation is a reference to the
Seals themselves. Thus, it might be prudent to consider that weakening the hold
on Kethuru temporarily may hold the solution to our current dilemma."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Rather drastic."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "What exactly is that thing in your city, Warlord?"

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "I am not exactly sure,
but it seems likely that she is Illith the Leviathan."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "How is that possible if the seals are intact?"

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "One of the Soulless
Gods that were trapped during the Vernal Wars."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Wait here."

Estarra, the Eternal, sinks into a whirlpool of swirling energies, which
disappear in a flash of light and colour.

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "The seals do not bind
any of the Soulless other than Kethuru."

Blinded Acolyte Liconius, Servant of the Five says, "Were they designed
specifically for Kethuru?"

Vekemi, Harmonic String says, "What an acute way of going about things."

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says to Daevos, "Or so
the histories state."

A swirling pool of energy forms in the air, out of which steps Estarra, the
Eternal.

Estarra, the Eternal says, "The Nine Seals hold and Illith the Leviathan
remains imprisoned. I have touched her mind, and she remains asleep. She is
also unaware of this creature. Strangely enough, this creature looks similar to
Illith even though it is not Illith. Whatever this creature was must for now
remain a mystery. The question is what do we do?"

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "Then the question
remains."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Then what else was
contained under the Sea of Despair."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Indeed."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "What or who is the
salvation of creation?"

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "The only thing that I
can think of."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Is Lord Morgfyre's
true form."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "Hmm."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "It is not Morgfyre."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Indeed, it is a mystery."

Lord General Vanthan Tregon, Hope's Sentinel says, "Cat-arin will be speaking
for Celest now."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "But is the solution so drastic as you claim?"

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Does everyone agree with the Warlord? Celest?"

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "If one is to believe
the Verses of Magnora."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "I am not convinced the
seals are the salvation of creation."

Catarin says, "The question is what would releasing Kethuru accomplish? If we
are not dealing with another soulless why do we require such a drastic
solution."

Catarin says, "It is not as if he is a pet dog to be unleashed on a burglar."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "How can we know that
it is not a Soulless."

Estarra ponders the situation.

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Serenwilde, what is your advice?"

Catarin says to Daevos, "Even if it is, how is releasing another Soulless going
to help?"

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "Two things my
commune have asked me to mention - firstly, why the psionics here are affected,
and secondly, perhaps a larger version of the shields used to repel the initial
creatures, although it's a long shot as the Serpent is already present."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "The Taint seems to be
intrinsically linked to this creature, perhaps discovering why that is so
should be the first course."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Then."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "It is drawing power from the Taint, I can tell you
that."

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "While the
verses do seem to suggest loosening Kethuru's bonds. And if it is drawing power
from the taint, perhaps it is in fact linked to Kethuru."

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "This would be
further supported by it's passage through the nexus of Magnagora, from what I
have heard."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "Perhaps not releasing
Kethuru."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "There is also the
question about why denizens of the basin and beyond are experiencing extreme
cases of memory lost as a result."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "But some of him?"

Estarra, the Eternal says, "It is killing Kethuru actually."

Catarin says, "Can we release some of him?"

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper looks skeptical and says to
Catarin, "I don't know."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Hmm."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "But."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "If the seals are weakened enough, one would think
Kethuru would take action to protect itself."

Deathlord Daevos Feyranti, the Dragon of Midnight says, "Indeed."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Although it is a dangerous proposition."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "But, if they are too
weakened..."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper frowns and says, "Yes, that's
what I mean."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "Then they will break and all the Soulless will be
freed."

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "That sounds
feasible to me, albiet risky."

Catarin says, "It sounds more than risky."

Tekora Freewind, Songbird Aesthete says, "Weaken one then. One was more than
enough to free Kethuru before."

Narsrim says, "Are there no alternatives?"

Vanatul Morghulis, Winter's Heart says, "If I may speak up, Lady Estarra,
You're speaking as if the seals hold -all- of the soulless. Don't they only
hold Kethuru?"

Estarra, the Eternal says, "If only one is weakened, it will snap."

Estarra, the Eternal says, "They all would need to be weakened equally."

(Serenwilde): Lydin says, "Could we raise a Vernal God at this point to
restrengthen the seals if we needed to?"

Estarra, the Eternal says, "For this scheme to have a chance of working."

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "How might we regulate the
weakening, though?"

Tekora Freewind, Songbird Aesthete says, "Demigods?"

Tekora Freewind, Songbird Aesthete says, "Or Titans?"

Queen of the Night, Shayle d'Iasani Treeripper says, "How do we even begin to
weaken them for that matter?"

Catarin says, "And how would we actually put him back when we were done?"

An'Taithe Initiate Saaga, Seeker of Twilight says, "A new Vernal?"

Estarra, the Eternal says, "All the Soulless are partially bound by the Nine
Seals, though Kethuru most of all."

Tears of Moon, Laysus L'Eternae, Dancer in the Moonlight says, "Would make
sense to have things prepared to restore the seals prior to their weakening, so
Kethuru does not interfere."

Shimmering waves of power erupt from Estarra, the Eternal's figure as she rises
high above the towering rocks of Avechna's Peak. She raises her hands and
spreads them from her body, pointing down toward the mountain far below.

Nine spiraling beams of multicoloured light shoot up from the surface of
Avechna's Peak, spewing into the firmament in a massive display of pyrotechnic
explosions.

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "It is done! The protection
over the Nine Seals have been lifted. Burn your karma at the seals in order to
weaken them. All nine must be equally weakened in order to attempt this
regulated release. When one is weakened enough, I will retrieve it so there are
no ... unfortunate mistakes. I hope you mortals know what you do!"

So, basically, did everybody run out of Karma and have to do quests to get enough back to keep offering? Is that what's happening now?

Kinda, but after a few thousand karma concentrated on one seal did absolutely nothing, some of us went, "Meh, this isn't doing a thing" sad.gif

Lets newbie kick them to death.
Zalandrus2006-12-24 02:54:04
Hehe, yep, everybody's run out of karma, and now people are dying willy-nilly in an attempt to get some (Mags have a tough time, they conglute and then die again to the big snake)

Celest, however, is for once being the 'bad guy' (to a degree) and refusing to allow citizens to help in this. Lots of dissension (we just can't please everybody, eh?), but in the end, we'll either say "we told you so" or "congrats, but we repeat, TAINT IS BAD!"

...these Seals are restraining SOULLESS GODS. A few thousand karma really isn't that much, especially when you consider that its Christmas eve tomorrow, and they might want to stretch it out a bit.
