Subj: Invocation of the High Summit
Cousins,
In adherence with the standing ancient laws of the now broken Elder
circles I invoke the Right of Exigency and call a High Summit.
I implore all who remember the Tenets to adhere to this call, and to
respect the protocol of the High Summit as we did before the onset of
Time. I shall respect the Elder Right of all my Cousins, even those who
would deny me or those I would deny under normal circumstances. I
implore all to follow this example and trust that I would not call a
summit unless there was no other option.
When all have confirmed my invocation and the High Summit is in place I
shall await the Congregation to explain what I have found concerning
recent events. There is no other course than swift action, lest it be
too late to avert what I have seen.
I'm afraid I missed the beginning of the summit, but it seems it was decided that they would leave for the Void to find some answers, and so they did.

Subj: Invasion of the Nexus Worlds and Departure of the Elder Gods
For months now the nexus worlds have been invaded with swarms of
serpentine creatures. Initially, these swarms have been contained, but
lately the magnitude and strength of the invasions allowed a few of
these creatures to break through the nexuses and onto the prime.
Investigations revealed that the planes were stable and the nexus worlds
were acting as anchors as they were meant to. The cities and communes
were at a loss to explain where these invasions were coming from, though
there were reports of clandestine groups gathering ancient manuscripts
and speculation in the various bards guilds related to the Dead Voices.
Eventually, the escalating import of these invasions caught the
attention of the Elder Gods and prompted Elostian to call an Elder God
High Summit. They discussed the fact that these creatures were obviously
denizens from an ancient cosmic plane. While it was recognized that
cosmic creatures of this nature, similar to demons and angels, generally
do not travel in aetherspace on their own volition, there has been
precedent in the past of certain higher beings using such lesser
creations as armies. Though speculation on what could be controlling
them was heated, the Elder Gods eventually agreed to join together to
hunt for the origins of these creatures, to find their cosmic creche,
and deal with this crisis at the root.
And so the Elder Gods have left the Basin, embarking upon an expedition
deep into the vastness of the Void.

O Kaervas, full of spite, point not the cudgel of Thy displeasure at Thy people, nor cover them with the sap of Thy wrath, nor blind them with the Eyepeck of Thy mild irritation, but rather clothe them with greatrobes of mercy, such as those produced by the many fine tailors of the Glomdoring and can be purchased at a shop near Thee.

I think that's the best thing I've read on forums in a long time.

To be fair, this is the reality for about everyone. I have not seen a village influence in a long time, and I miss out on alot of the big events because I'm either asleep or at work. While I appreciate that people in Europe get left out, I wouldn't expect anything to actually happen at the ideal time for you - it rarely happens for any of us. It's why the events are so long, so we can all see a part of them.
What do you mean 'while I appreciate that people in Europe get left out'? We're people too you know . And I know alot of players are English or in Europe at least. I see alot of people when events happen. Look at when the bards came. The basin was crowded.
Forren2006-12-19 20:42:18
It's before midnight in much of Europe still.. the gods left a few hours ago.

Actually, Forren, I seem to recall some pages that came to Mother to ask for help on strategies to kill the creatures... And were given said help freely.
Oh yes, and what a brilliant strategy all the organisations came up with.
'Kill in groups and dont die to them'. XD
What's next?
'Death is not your friend'
Unknown2006-12-19 20:45:54
Maybe it's an excuse for all the gods to take the Holiday season off and not be bugged by the player base.

Havent they all heard of rotors? Like for each month 1 god is allowed to take a holiday or something. And before the Demigods get all happy, remember the Administrators of the fates. I still remember my meeting with Oneiroi

That's true. I believe that would be Aeralin, who is Fireweaver on the forums. Talk to her. I encourage the sharing of information, but I agree with you IC that Mags dying is a good thing. OOC, all those people dying makes me sad because that's a lot of hours of bashing work lost.
This may be an old discussion by now, but I'd just like to point out that Magnagora was using the same strategy before that post. It seems sort of like a common-sense thing to do, especially after Morgfyre told us to work on our teamwork.
