The markets are not open yet so you can cancel. My Portfolio->Orders and cancel any order you want.

Wow... back in 8th grade, (over 10 years ago now... damn) we did the stock market game, and the person in our class who won, bid on HP and Procter and Gamble.

Heres few hints for starters:
1. Don't attempt to do day trade unless you know what are you doing(theres 20 mins delay for an order to get executed)
2. Scalping (small gains by buying and selling really quick) shouldn't be even considered, because of the reason above.
3. If you still want to do short term investments then your best bet is to ride a wiggle(riding a positive/negative wave for few days)
Few tools are available to you, except the normal buy/sell
1. Sell short - borrow stocks(from somewhere) and sell them. Usualy used to protect yourself from loses if a stock you own started to crash or to profit from a negative wiggle. At one point you will need to "buy to cover"(return the borrowed stocks), so be sure that you have money to do so.
2. Sell limit - Sell a stock when it goes above the wanted price.
3. Sell stop - Sell your stocks when they go below some price
(checks will be made every 20 minutes until it meets the requirements)
Hope that it will help someone.

What I am not understanding it this; why when I buy shares and they do not increase or decrease is it costing me 10.00 a day to even own the shares? I paid the 9.95 to make the buy, what is this hidden crap that is causing me to lose 10.00 a day to it?

It's not a hidden cost. It's how much you gained on this stock, in this case -$40.00.
The "change" is reset each day, so it's better to compare the current price to the price you paid for it (Last and Cost).

Ildaudid2006-12-22 22:34:35
Ahh but I spent .09 cents on this stock and it has remained a steady .09 cents since I have bought it, and it still is .09 cents, that is why I dont understand each day I lose 10.00 to it?
Deas2006-12-22 23:42:44
Well, you bought 10k of that stock and i guess that the actual price could be something like 0,093 and when it dropped to 0,092 you left with -$10
Xavius2006-12-23 00:25:38
Ow. Today hurt.
Unknown2006-12-23 00:51:40
When do I want to sell my stock, like today somethings up 1.51% and another is up .48% so I made around 151 dollars...
