Idea: start IC factions not affeliated with cities hell bent on beating each other up.. Shorlen, if you wanna start one I will, and we can go around jumping each other like madman eh?

Lets say ciaran and a few gloms and lets say one or two celestians or mags join this organisation and decide to attack a group in serenwilde all its going to take is serenwilde saying to celest/mag/glom oi! is attacking us, now as part of the organisation of celest/mag/glom they are representing your organisation now either reign them in and make them stop or were going to treat it like your attacking us and attack right back. There is no way your every going to seperate conflict from the cities/communes.

I read shryke's post differently.
Ciaran creates clan Blue
Shorlen creates clan Red.
Everyone in clan Blue, jumps clan Red and visa versa.
Clise2007-01-03 01:17:52
Yes but as soon someone enters the boundaries of his or her city, the fighting STOPS. You cannot risk fighting there under the threat of having war called down on your organisation.

Yes. We already have one, in fact, but we're not revealing the identity of our seekret clans in public, obviously

Correct. This is not a problem in my eyes. What we'd be fighting over does not have to be anything that's in any organization.
Daganev2007-01-03 04:26:54
Halifax and Gaudichu could start fighting now They have quests to fight eachother, Nodes raised to protect
ferlas2007-01-03 08:29:05
Still there will be questions involved and the cities will get inculded.
Your kind of forgetting that what ever you fight over, its going to be related/involve the cities in some way. Fight over a certain mob theres bound to be a city who wants to protect then for example celest and the merians or aslarans or mag with the orcs and then you have a city involved. Pick a location and the same thing applies, Theres no way to cut out the cities really

And the organisation of glom/mag/celest/seren arn't going to start asking questions about why your working to raies another nexus when you already have one sitting here mm? Same thing happened with richter and his I want to make a nexus in deepnight thing which got the glom leader ship annoyed.

No, with Richter that was entirely different. He suggested stealing power from the glom nexus to fuel his own. You are assuming too much. It could easily be done if players want to do it.

No with richter it wasn't entirely different, he suggested people give up power that they are entitled to draw from the nexus and give it to him for his. I'm assuming nothing. If it was theft or not is subjective just like the responsibility of the people involved in this little idea is subjective.
And now sorry I'm going to assume something-And basically one of the cities or someone will eventually pull the cities into it, it could be done yes if every wants it like this but you would have to convince pretty much everyone in the game to do it like this to basically change the general way everyone opperated or thinks about the game as a whole, yea its possible.

No, you really don't have to rethink everything. You don't have drag the cities into if you don't want to. Done correctly, the cities wouldn't even notice or care.
ferlas2007-01-03 18:31:24
There no way the cities could fail to notice though, then its only a matter of time before someone cares. Even the smallest little fight at the moment gets the cities attention.

Situation is pretty frustrating to me too. I want to kill half the snugglers, and I just can't do it, nor can I find a good IC reason to keep them out of the commune. :-/ The lack of conflict is rather annoying as well. Hell, I can only hunt so much before getting bored.
How bad is it? I've been thinking up an IC reason to leave the Serenwilde and go to Celest, so I can do something.
The problem is, the Serenwilde doesn't know -how- to raid, as the vast majority doesn't understand combat at all. It's really to the point where we are like Celest started out as. I'm sad. I've been trying to change this, starting in the Serenguard, but it's a slow, not too easy process. Especially when I keep losing champions!

They'd rather marry each other and have baby fire-breathing trill and flying lizard babies.
Those two clans are a serious and massive disappointment.
Hiriako2007-01-12 00:28:44
Those clans have always been a massive disappointment. Especially seeing Serens in them. C'mon, people! Cities? Re-raising cities? Need I remind you all of the Taint and why we hate cities? Down with Taint, stay away Hallifax and Gaudiguch!
I get such perverse pleasure out of slaughtering the Dracnari Nomad Camp and the Mesa Complex. I do it all the time. Why? To harrass the people who want the cities, that's why.

I think at first, before the quests had been done the first time, the clans were awesome. They were both fighting each other and getting groups of people dedicated to learning the secrets of the nodes. It seems like immediately after the quests had been done once all conflict ceased and now they're practically the same clan. Its a waste. They have everything they need for a pretty decent brand of conflict and yet... nothing.
I still believe Daevos was on to something with the tax for people who acknowledge that they're leaving the city/commune for Hallifax/Gaudiguch/Ackleberry.

I remember reading that from one of the hundred different versions of the same clans they had.
Aiakon2007-01-12 13:34:41
I used to get terrifically irritated with Geomancers who were part of those clans. It makes no RP sense to be a Geomancer when you really want to be a Pyro or Aero mancer. That tax strikes me as an extremely good idea.. I wonder why it was never promulgated.

Some of us fight too!
I think the Serenguard are getting there. I've been in 5 guilds (with a main) and the Sereguard by far the most organized in combat training. We've got a few new raiders - Rika, me, Ayamae, when she gets back from vacation

You're not allowed. I need you in Serenwilde right now! I do not need yet another guild without a GM!
