Lusternia Mafia

Again with the meh. I don't really have anything to say. In response to Diamondais again, I'll make it clear what I meant, again. There was no attention on me before I started talking. I didn't need to draw attention away from me, because no one cared what I was doing. The two prime candidates were Okin and Verithrax.

I chose to draw attention towards myself in an effort to make people talk. The more people talk, the easier it becomes to identify potentially suspicious people. Even if I die, I've still managed to generate more discussion on the first day than usually happens in a mafia game. And you group are especially un-talkative.

Unvote: Okin

To reiterate: I was not under suspicion. I had nothing to gain by proposing something unusual, that would likely be seen as scummy. The only thing added to the game, was the discussion of the players. I had hoped to get people talking about the psychiatrist, but as I suspected, everyone wanted to jump on me. Again, I can deal with this. Just be aware that I'm not mafia. Given my previous experience, and the fact that I'm obviously not stupid (you can read the last, and only, game where I actually was mafia and we kicked butt) it is extremely unlikely that I would draw attention to myself like this if I actually were scum.

And before someone points out that I could be acting overly scummy to fool people into thinking I'm not scummy, I have two things. First, that type of ploy almost never works, and would not be my first move. Second, I wasn't in any danger of lynching, so I didn't need to make any sort of move at all.

I'm going to go analyze the ongoing conversation and decide who I think is most scummy so far.

SECOND POST

I'd also like to point out that Verithrax has said absolutely nothing about his previous irregularity. In the event that I get lynched, would someone please do me the favour of pressing the issue?
Diamondais2007-01-07 16:03:44
Yeah, I understand now. Im not changing my vote because it still seems fishy to ask someone to reveal their role so early on.

What are you doing Verithrax? unsure.gif
Unknown2007-01-07 16:06:43
*sigh* That's what I'm saying. It was just a ploy to get people talking. I'd hoped to have a conversation about the merits of the psych coming forwards, or not, and then after a while renounce my position and advise the psychiatrist to stay silent. I'm just trying to keep the game alive.

SECOND POST

This is my observations about people that I just jotted into notepad. The primary judgments were made based on reactions to my conversation hook, and then I refined them by reading over the entire thread again.

Okin: Still weird behaviour, could be over-zealous scum or over-zealous townie.
Verithrax: Probably psychiatrist
Daganev: Possibly psychiatrist, but my vote's on Verithrax. He's hard to decipher in the best of times.
Shamarah: Probably not scummy, but he's experienced enough he could be faking. I still guess innocent, though.
Diamondais: Either really dense, or probably scummy
Lysandus: Tends to vote for the most popular person without justification
Tsaephai: Clumsy bandwagon. (Lack of any actual activity besides jumping on bandwagons.) Also tends to use rather illogical justifications.

Yraeltrux, Sarvasti, Archer2, Noola: None of them are really talking/active enough to make a judgment about.

There are enough inexperienced players that normal tells are harder to see, and easier to mistake for pure newness to the game.

Edit: Besides, what will you people do for conversation if I die?
Diamondais2007-01-07 16:30:32
I am dense. A view into my life. tongue.gif

Vote: No lynch

Any reason for this? No lynch is a horrible idea on Day 1 (actually, it's a horrible idea in general most of the time) unless you have some reason to think it's good.
Daganev2007-01-07 18:47:45
Thats 2 points of scumminess on verithrax in my eyes.

He's quick to jump at my throat. Looks scummy to me; maybe he knows something he shouldn't.

I really, really want to think that you're good, Verithrax, but the No Lynch thing makes it really difficult. If you have a good reason (or even just a "I had a complete aneurysm/lack of brain activity" type excuse) I'll go with you against Daganev.

Ytraelux, why exactly are you still voting for me? You know I'm not guilty, and I am/was almost lynched.

All I know is that you are acting VERY scummy. You vote for me just because I voted for you? How scummy can you get?

Vote: Verithrax
Like I said, I'd like to believe you, if for no other reason than that Daganev is one of the hardest people to read motivation. Sometimes I theorize that he just has a random number generator to pick a victim and then just goes for the throat. I also happen to think that you're the psychiatrist, but I can't understand why you're voting no lynch.

Vote: Verithrax for completely ignoring my question and instead just switching his vote.
Verithrax2007-01-07 20:21:56
I voted for no lynch to park my vote somewhere nobody would go (So I wouldn't be contributing to a ninja lynch while I was away) and to get people talking so we can resolve this. I don't think it's to the advantage of the town for me to get pushed against the wall about my motives, however.
Unknown2007-01-08 01:33:00
Mirk replaces Archer2 starting....NOW.

Sorry, Archer2, but you just were not active enough. I did give you plenty of warning and time to post more.
Mirk2007-01-08 01:42:47
Due to my just joining, I'm going to Vote: No Lynch
Noola2007-01-08 01:52:17
Hello Mirk! Hmm. Well...

I think I'm going to take the opportunity to change my vote.

Unvote:Archer2/Mirk

Vote: Verithrax

Why? Cause this:

sounds kind of scummy to me.
Shamarah2007-01-08 01:56:07
I'm leaving my vote on Verithrax; I agree with Noola that that last sentence was really scummy.

Why didn't you just unvote? You don't have to revote.
Unknown2007-01-08 02:00:25
Hmm, I have to agree it does sound kind of scummy but then again, he could be given those of the Town a hint that he's useful to them.

Unvote: Requiem

However, I don't want to vote for Verithrax because it'd seem like I'd be jumping on the bandwagon. So I'll wait, again, to see how things roll.
Mirk2007-01-08 03:13:54
I think I'm going to change my vote to VOTE: Daganev.

I guess I should probably offer a reason for my vote, because while Verithrax's last sentence could possibly be 'scummy', I find Daganev's reason for voting for Verithrax even moreso. Why would you vote for someone because they decided to unvote you and call that persons actions scummy?
