So yeah, I'm a new player, or will be after I gets me some answers to questions I have. I've played achaea for a while and in that time I've had many characters etc. I've bought well over 30,000 credits for my characters and I'm bored! I'm serious about starting Lusternia and here are some things I want to find out and questions I have:

Is there a system such as Larkin's ACP in achaea to fully cure, I don't mind if I have to pay credits as long as it will keep me going until I can make my own.

Maps! I have a really bad memory when it comes to directions etc. Are there any "good" Zmud maps available to buy (or for free) that I can get my hands on. (Used Larkin's in achaea, I love that guy.)

Roleplaying! Achaea's roleplay has been spiralling downwards in the past few years, now it's just plain terrible, which house/guild/race/whatever has the "best" roleplaying opportunities.

Stupid question! What's the "best" race/class for player killing and hunting. Like you have your horkval/monks or grook/magi combinations in achaea, what's the equivalent here?

Starting stuff, (I know this can be gained IC but hey, I haven't made my char yet!) What are all the plants, vials etc that I'll need.

The rest I'm sure I'll learn in game. Thanks beforehand.

Yes, Yes, depends on what you like, and it depends on your fighting style and how much you like to hunt.

You'll honestly want to choose your race/guild/city based on what roleplay you want to pursue. There are specializations here, but they are not always the best. Warriors can have a specialized race depending on what city/commune they are in, but the weaponstyles also have their own prefered race that you will have to look into.

Some races do not make good mages, or guardians, or wiccans, or Druids or warriors. Like for an example, an Igasho Celestine is just asking for pain and frustration while a Faeling unspecialized warrior is just painful.

OK! I get the race thing, I'll find out ingame etc. What about a system to start me off, and maps! I get lost all the time, even after playing achaea for 7 years, I struggle getting from city to city *hugs eagle's wings* (achaea thing btw in case you probably don't have it here)

Best race when it comes to Magic and Stuff (faster EQ recovery) are Mugwumps, their Level 3 recovery is a bit insane...

Cure systems can be bought from the following people (please kick me if I left your name out or put the wrong person).

Laysus, Murphy, Thorgal, Amaru and Ethelon and that's pretty much I know (?).

Roleplaying is still alive and well here though sometimes a bit of OOCness is put in, either for fun or well... just for the heck of it (?).

Another generally good choice for just about every class is human. Unlike Achaea, our humans still have the xp bonus (drool), but they also have this nifty thing called evolution! Basically, every fifth level after 50, you gain a new stat point, so high level humans are awesome.

Humans are an awesome race, though we're a bit weak in the starting.

Oh yeah, we got teleport for that, to teleport to another player or teleport directly back to your city. Cubix is also a good artifact, let's you go to all known planes. Tarot as well lets you teleport to various villages in the game, plus we get Aetherships, we travel throughout aetherspace and go in various Aetherbubbles.

No way of changing race at a higher level? Gem of transmutation, dagger of reincarnation? Say yes, you know you want to.

Every player gets one free reincarnation, then afterwards you can buy a Dagger for 100 credits or just save up 1000 for a Cameo.

You get a free reincarnation; you could buy a dagger of reincarnation; or you could cameo of the changeling (gem of transmutation but with RP).

I have been informed by a former Achaean that you are a theif in Achaea. I'll point out that theft is NOT looked well upon in Lusternia by the playerbase as a whole, and is banned in every guild that has skills to steal. People who are known thieves aren't accepted in any city/commune, and if they rob someone, are often robbed blind, stuck in a manse somewhere, behind a locked door, fully locked Okay, we've only done that once, but that doesn't mean we won't do it again


PKing here is far more free than it was in Achaea. Mag and Celest are the best places if you want to be involved in a lot of raiding and the like.



Systems: There are three main commercial ones. Thorgal/Murphy/Diamante/Ciaran's zMUD system, which costs 100cr, and you should contact Ciaran for it, Larkin/Zarquan/Iasoms's system here, which isn't free (I forget how much he charges), which is also for zMUD, and Ethelon's, which isn't very expensive. I'm not sure if Ethelon's commercial system is zMUD or MUSHClient... There's also Amaru's, but I'm not sure if he's even still around. Look through the Last Chance Trading Post for some threads on the various systems.

Zarquan's is 70 and is for zmud.

Ethelon's is 25 and is for mush.

If you're looking for PvP, Celest or Magnagora are the way to go. Serenwilde's much more centred around influencing (non-violent means of gaining experience/gold) and Glomdoring's mainly hardcore roleplayers.

Keep in mind, however, that Celest have very strict laws about what you can hunt so it'll be harder to gain levels if you're Celestian.
