*Lots of consolation hugs for Doman* Lets hope nothing have happened to him.

I'd share my opinions, but far too many of them are negative, especially those about the admins. So, I'll just say that Lusternia is better than the alternatives, and the things I hate I guess I have to endure because of that.

I've only been around for a few months, and I have to say that I really enjoy the people and the atmosphere. I feel as if the staff cares about what the players have to say, and that means a lot to me.

Having played Lusternia as my first MUD, yes I have not played any other MUDs before this despite what others say, I must say that nothing quite so much compares to this in terms of storyline and diversity of things to do. So I shall list the things I like about Lusternia!

1) Tormenting Nejii
2) Combat, its very nicely done though it can be a pain at times with demesne and imbalancing. But we are getting there!
3) Events, nicely done most of the time though some still leaves much to be desired tongue.gif
4) Tormenting Nejii
5) Bullying Tervic who has been VERY patient with me
6) Most of the people I met IG and talked to on an OOC level
7) Tormenting Nejii

divlove.gif I really do. You're all awesome, for putting so much phenomenal hard work into creating the world we know and love, and for being such great people.

So much has happened this year. I think my favourite event was the Xion one. It was my first time in Aetherspace (spammed my client backwards) and I loved helping decipher the codes with Shorlen and the others. Also, this is going to sound really pathetic, but there are many people I have met on Lusternia who I consider to be friends, and I love that there's such a great community here. Thank you everyone, admin and player, who has made this year great!

Awww... wub.gif

I absolutely love this game to death, but the constant onslaught of new material is getting to be just a tad overwhelming, and four guilds per organization... well let's just say some guilds are looking a little empty (blacktaloncough). I would certainly not be dissapointed if Estarra and Co decided to take a year off and let us all stew and readjust and feed our appetites with awesome events(like they have been doing, but take out the new skills/areas bits...) and let Lusternia "ripen" for a bit, but of course just watch me jump with glee when Hallifax is released... I've already made IG arrangements and everything.
Viravain2007-01-06 11:59:58
Aww, wub.gif Est. Thank you for the compliment. I honestly couldn't ask for a cooler boss...especially when you play along with my shenanigans in the Havens and don't smoosh me for them. biggrin.gif

1st: Many MANY thanks to the Admin and their helpers (ephemerals) on making such a wonderful game, may not be as good as WoW, Guildwars or any other MMORPG games out there but at least its something that'll keep you entertained, have fun and geared for war.

To those who are reading this (mostly to guests who just want to read our Forums), try it and join in the wonderful world of Lusternia! happy.gif

2nd: Many thanks to the players who I Love or Dislike (albeit). It sure adds flavour to the game and without players, Lusternia won't be running and without Lusternia, well I won't be playing my first and probably Last MUD game. The times we had either ups or downs, many MANY thanks.

As the new year comes, lots of things to be expected, new things to come and more fun to all of us who are hooked to this game ( tongue.gif ). I salute you, Estarra and Co. wink.gif

I'd argue it's better than many of those games in many ways. Might not be as pretty, but it excels in other parts!

Actually I think text MMORPG and the different kind such as WoW and Guildwars should never be compared, Lusternia has everything that those lack. Such as people who speak complete sentences, wonderful player interaction and players, not to mention Admins that care!

Doman2007-01-06 13:09:10
Yep, that and admins who actually see the players as something more than walking wallets. biggrin.gif

wub.gif Lusternia!

I'd pick Lusternia over WoW anytime.
I feel like any other mindless character when I'm on WoW. However, I feel like I'm somebody here in Lusternia mainly because I have a purpose here.

Thank you Estarra and your admin for creating such a wonderful game. wub.gif

I'd like to see a quest that could open up the Fire plane. I'd like to see more aetherbubbles too. Maybe some on planes other then prime? This would, of course, require some new mortal builders maybe... ninja.gif

And Lusternia is the best of the IRE games I've played. I've played all but Achaea, and I don't think I'm missing out there. The work here is fantastic.

Congratulations on all the good works done over 2006, keep it up.

This part however threw me back a little...

The year began with the loss of our paid coder Hajamin under what can only be described as unfortunate circumstances of his own making. All I'll say is that lies and cover ups often rise to be more serious matters than the original offense (just ask politicians!). Anyway, this left us shorthanded and, more detrimentally, created a rather depressing environment among the staff of having been betrayed.

It's too bad you had such a horrible employee, but if you were my former employer I'd probably seek legal action against that which looks like libel to me.
Noola2007-01-06 16:51:25
I wub.gif this game and all the people involved who make it possible.

Especially considering all the hard work! That was an impressive list of accomplishments! It's hard to realize how much work might go into something until it's all been laid out like that.

Biggest thing about law: Truth is proof against libel. He abused his coder privileges to interfere in god business (gods can't mess with other gods), then lied to his bosses about it. They discovered him deleting log files that would show his actions. Sarapis came here for the first time to ever discuss it. I'm sure they keep such server logs for that purpose.

Not being sarcastic here: what part of that is libelous?

Truth is protection against slander. I was not arguing that he did wrong, or that it was proven he did wrong. He was probably a cheating poo flinging monkey for all I know. I just know that if I was in a position in which my former employer stated for the public my negative actions I would do what I would do. When a prospective employer is doing a check of former job references, the former employer is only allowed to state neutral information. Such as the date you started, the date you left, and your salary information. I don't plan on arguing this, I am not trying to start any dramatics I just have my opinion and posted it. We all know what opinions are like, and everyone has one.

To Shiri: Libel is a harmful statement in a fixed medium, especially writing but also a picture, sign, or electronic broadcast. It doesn't mean it is false, it means it is harmful. Slander is when it is not based on truth.
