Now, I don't mean to whine about this, but I'm a bit curious as to the intent of the "no fighting in faethorn" rule that the admins are trying to enforce again. I understand the "no fighting over the fae so people can influecne them" stuff, but aren't the non-prime planes supposed to be where all the fighting happens? I mean, if Seren and Glom want to fight, our choices are: Fight in villages where there are 1) guards, 2) quadruple experience loss, 3) distortion, 4) suspect, and 5) FORCING the defenders to defend, making fights there very one sided. Fight in the opposing commune, which has all the problems of fighting fighting in a village, minus distortion, plus totems.
The other option is fighting in the Etherwilde/Etherglom. This has the problem, again, of FORCING the defenders to defend. Sitting in Faethorn taunting them with our presence means they CHOOSE if they want to fight or not. It doesn't force them into battle, the young ones don't necessarily feel obligated to help even though they don't know what they're doing, both sides can meld and break melds, noone has any form of "homefield" advantage. The Communes only get this one place to skirmish in - the cities get water and earth.
It's not like we were jumping influencers - if a known pacifist entered my meld, I did not enmey them or attack them. Ask Yeralih, a known pacifist who entered my meld to say hello, and we talked for a bit. We weren't overpowering the Gloms with massive numbers, and we weren't shouting childish taunts. We were even giving back about half the corpses, but that's harder to do than it seems when you're trying to attack the people who you are giving the corpses to
To put it another way, where would you, the Admins, rather have us fight?

Yeah! Plus I remember when Charune spoke with Maeve and posted that she was specifically not against fighting in faethorn as long as her knights weren't involved. I always go up and debate Ragniliff all the time and we chat. I chat with a handful of the Wyrdos we fight with. They obviously come in because they want to fight and on prime it's harder to find a neutral spot for everyone. In faethorn everyone can run home to safety too.

That makes you the exception, not the rule. Krellan loves to jump me while I influence. But some things transcend fighting zones--Why would Maeve as a monarch of her people want countless slaughter over them?
We have the entire Basin to fight in. Gloms are always on Earth, Water, or Astral. You can get them there too.

But I don't want to fight Celest or Mag, and fighting on Astral is lame because it counts as enemy territory for deaths for anyone. So, the people you jump lose more, and if you screw up, you lose more too. It's just not cool to me And you can't go "Hey, I'm here, come get me!" up there just by being there like you can in a elemental-esque zone. I never see Gloms on Earth, and I'm not allowed to go to Water by Seren law.

Sounds like he wants a place for large scale fighting. The avenger prevents that on prime, and if someone gets killed on astral, water or earth, its not like they're going to come back with reinforcements, except for now and then on astral.

Really? When was that changed?

I haven't noticed attempts to keep it out of Faethorn. And if there are, I'll probably ignore parts of them. It's a natural venue for combat, and as long as it's focused on the archways and not Faethorn itself, I think it's good.

Maeve told us all (Seren and Glooms) to sod off earlier or she'd set her knights on us.

Ah.
Don't take away the small conflict we've so carefully cultivated!

I really think the whole concept of Queen Maeve has been ruined. She is probably the single most inconsistent possessed mob in Lusternia. I used to get so angry with how she would totally say "A" and then turn around a day later and swear up and down she meant "B."
Maeve likewise has two believable choices: She can be pro-aggression or she can be neutral (but neutral does not imply pacifistic). I find the idea of a multipolar spiritual entity being a pacifist when composed of two diametrically opposed forces to be silly. Worst of all, she only seems to be a pacifist at certain times - a third of the time she's apathetic, a third of the time she's angry, a third of the time she has no clue what's going on.

I always like Faethorn cause it was neutral, and really easy (for forester) to run- ie: sprint home down the long corriodrs, trees to jump into, flow, fly... plus no aggros and not gaurds. It's great!

We should make an extra pair of archways and slap them in strategically located places within the Etherglom and Etherwilde, and have them connect to Happy-PK land: a section of the Ethereal plane originally lost with the severance of Ackleberry from the mortal coil. Being seperate from Faethorne, Happy-PK land is free from Maeve's jurisidiction. Unlike the prime plane and other such places, Happy-PK Land can be heavily influenced by the magic of the forestral mages. We can have it be malleable, with changing room descs based on whether it's forested by a Hartstone or a Blacktalon, so as to give extra RP incentive to get in there and meld like crazy. We can relocate all our essence carrying mobs there and they can spawn and move only in spots that are influenced by their corresponding org's magics.
It provides a place to fight with some minor RP incentives to fight there, and actually makes gathering essence on Ethereal more dangerous without touching or messing with the fae quest at all.
It would probably be a pain to sneak into the histories, and I have no idea how difficult it would be to code, but it's a thought! Though of course, we'll want to think of a more IC name than Happy-PK land.

Actually, both communes suggested something like a more refined version of this, a couple months ago, haven't heard/seen anything back about it yet though.

But... she's comprised of all the nature spirits right? I'm not 100% on this. So... wouldn't that create some personality conflicts? Insanity maybe? Considering the opposing forces and all tearing at her mind all the time? I'm probably way off though! Basing all my info on things I've read. But if so, shifts in personality make sense - she's prolly got like spiritual schizophrenia or something.

Last I heard from Maeve, she was comprised of both Moon and Night.
Narsrim is spot on. There is zero consistency on Maeve's part. I don't know if the admins possessing her just have no guidelines to follow, whether they don't talk to each other or what, but every time we have spoken with Maeve, the story changes--and not just part of the story, the whole thing.
Faethorn is frustrating on a lot of levels. I will be irritated if it ends up the way it was (back when sticking one's big toe into the area meant being swarmed by a bunch of bored PKers who have nothing else to do). I think, however, conflicts there should and will happen. I think the reason we'll never find a happy medium is because too many people just take it too far.
If the players have no sense of moderation, there will never be moderation. Extremes are the only way to keep some of the people happy, some of the time. And that is, after all, the goal right?

Couple of things.
1) Maeve might be more concerned about the "end of existence", so much so that she doesn't want any "petty" fights at least until Kethuru is taken care of.
2) Maeve's erratic behavior may be planned. Legendary Fae were always fickle and somewhat strange--you had "good" fae stealing babies and killing humans. So, this fickleness might be planned on the admins part.

1. That had nothing to do with it, from what she yelled.
2. Doubt it because this only started when Glomdoring came out and their players were upset that there weren't equal opportunities for them there.
