I know I am at least.

I wish I'd be allowed to kill Maeve...or that she wasn't immortal.

My nest. You. Me. After school. Be there.

(Please don't be there. You'd wipe the floor with me.)

But... she's comprised of all the nature spirits right? I'm not 100% on this. So... wouldn't that create some personality conflicts? Insanity maybe? Considering the opposing forces and all tearing at her mind all the time? I'm probably way off though! laugh.gif Basing all my info on things I've read. But if so, shifts in personality make sense - she's prolly got like spiritual schizophrenia or something.

This is probably correct rp-wise, but unfortunately a pain in the ass to deal with in game. Insanity of a player or denizen to the point where it becomes unpleasant or worse debilitating to those forced to deal with it detract from the game in a big way. Faethorn is a big enough headache at times. In terms of essence, it can't compare to the elemental planes, and there is no real benefit from what I've seen no matter if Night or Moon spirit hold sway, especially with amnesty so easily obtained from Queen Maeve.

I believe that the solution is for those of us from Mag/Celest to just burn both forests to the ground! Or at least, maybe I could be a secret assassin...Queen Maeve getting on your nerves? Or maybe Laeroc, Butter, or one of the other confused little fae? Contact me about my fees...

There is a benefit from Maeve being swayed by moon/night, but if you haven't found it yet, you can find out IC tongue.gif

A benefit other than the Fae Knights going bi polar and attacking enemies of Moon or Night, respectively?

Edit: Let's not forget Maeve's change of desc, either rolleyes.gif

Yes though it could stand a bit of an upgrade in my opinion. Not really worth the trouble as it is now.

I think the point was regardless if she is influenced by Moon or Night, Maeve is still rude and obnoxious - even if you are like a beloved servant of Mother Moon and she, for the moment, has sworn fealty to Mother Moon... you get no leadway. You are still crap.

whatever happened to the silvery honeycakes Albion made with essence?

I didn't realize there was even still Reign in Faethorn. Because there's practically nothing going on there. It's barely worth dealing with Maeve's demands to get the essentially small power from the fae. Sorry, I can get it from Astral or Water or scholars or something, this censor.gif ain't worth it. There needs to be some way for there to be a reason to compete in Faethorn reasonably.

For instance, it's kind of odd that for a plane of communes, there's no wilderness. Perhaps we discover that there's ethereal wilderness underneath or above or around Faethorn, and there's more wild fae, or multiple kings and queens and courts. They'd be kind of like mini-villages for the communes, but never adding up to more than Faethorn, and Faethorn would be the biggest. Make any sense? I'm just trying to find some kind of way to have conflict that's balanceable between influence and pk that provides for somewhat variable and interestin conflict.

Come up with something concrete and post it on the plots thread.

Just remember, we don't want a situation where people only have time to fight 24/7

Glom and Seren came up with something concrete and posted it on the plots board a few months back, as Shiri said.

No more Maeves, please. stab.gif

But I'd kind of like it if Maeve split in two, and you had like MoonMaeve and NightMaeve, and whichever Great Spirit had ascendency, that Maeve was Queen, while the other was locked in a dungeon or something. (I'm talking two different entities, not just Maeve in a frilly dress, and Maeve in gothic clothes) Oooh. Ethereal needs a dungeon! It could have a quest where the redcaps/slaugh/barghests are trying to do one thing, and the mothers/maidens/crones are trying to do another. (This way we could have our specialized fae in Faethorn!) Or maybe if MoonMaeve was locked up, you could do a quest where the mothers/maidens/crones would have a coup during NightMaeve's reign and unleash MoonMaeve and she would run rampant and all the fae would want to go to moon for a day, and vice versa for night. Nothing super powerful zomg it will ruin the communes, but something fun and RP-y. At least with two entities, Maeve would be slightly less AHAHALOLZMAEVEMEH@, crazy.

Edit: And I just realized I totally contradicted myself..but..then again..we wouldn't be ADDING more Maeve's. Just splitting one in half. NightMaeve could be like. Mauve (get it! Wyrd allusion!) and MoonMaeve could be like. Mayve. I dunno. And there could be a quest to reunite them and it'd be crazy and I'd do it.
Laysus2007-01-09 23:49:13
I know I know! Just send Night back to sleep and we can have Maeve all nice like she was before Glom >.>

I actually like that idea. Some villages follow night, others follow moon, and you could do something so that the Moon/Nightside wins and then that Spirit would take faethorn over. Kinda like mini-village-influences or something. tongue.gif

I bet Estarra is going to nuke Faethorn any time soon. I swear no other area has caused so much difficulty.
