For people too lazy to click the link, it's a rapid prototyper that costs in the range of $2500 and is built with easily available components. The machine is 'open source'; anyone can get the CAD and assemble one. The desktop device is controlled by USB and can 'print' low-precision models in silicon, gypsite, chocolate, and possibly even metal alloys.
I think this is very interesting technology if it pans out to the price levels and quality of modern PCs and desktop printers.

Its also realy really old. I think it was at siggraph 1998 that I first saw the "affordable 3d printer"
