Hailstorm vs Forestal Flow Zerg. Guess which wins? Hailstorm. Stop compaining
Unknown2007-01-10 04:15:51
Eh, then isn't boulderblast kinda the same thing then? *carefully tears some stitches off of wound*

Heh, more like: *grins evilly and rips the adhesive bandage off*
And yeah, they are the same. It's mainly the lack of commune equivalent plus the inherent power of it.
Narsrim2007-01-10 04:23:43
Hailstorm is 50% blunt, 50% cold. Boulderblast is like 50% blunt, 50% poison.
Given that Resilience gives a 20% resistance to poison at trans; communes get major poison resistance (Snake totem, Crow Cloak, Garb, Purification blessing from Maiden, etc); and geomancers have a lower intelligence racial selection....
Boulderblast is kinda similar, but no... it isn't exactly the same. Its about "half" the same

without flow, celest could have easily killed a fae (in this instance) or raid in particular (in any other instance)
Shorlen, you may have walked once or twice-but the other 20 times everyone flowed.
It's ridiculous that you can travel instantly from however far away to the room the enemy is in without having to find them, come up with a strategy to defeat them (other than bring a lot of newbies and say MOONBEAM WHEN I MOVE!)
Let's put it like this. Mag is on water, going to kill the Tide Lords. Instead of having to find the whirlpool on the lake, fine the isle in the sea and hopefully get to the right room with all the waves-we instead just INSTANTLY show up. Bang, your dead.
Of course, if this was the case all of lusternia would be up in arms and demolish it to hell. But, since flow isn't a celestian skill-it's ok! Oh, hell, it's underpowered!
It's pathetic

Omg people! Wake up! Of course this is a "run to ze forum" bit! I stated so in the beginning! It's like the only way things get changed. And I lawled my pants off by saying that trueheal and hailstorm need to be nerfed first. And you're not looking at the raider aspect of this. Think of it as an inverse guards summon, except your guards can do more nastier things. And moonbeam will be next week's "run to ze forum," duh.

Estarra said it herself. All damage types are equal.

If they were, I don't think we'd need envoys to double-check over certain things.

Lol, yeah, it's like when Celest gets a bunch of magi together and they hailstorm a group without having to go into the room, and they kill everyone. So unfair. Or when they beckon people out of a group? I wish we could do that. Oh! How about empress? We can be instantly summoned to a group of Celestians who then gank us one by one. How's THAT fair?
Talk about imbalance, geeze Nerf beckon/empress/hailstorm/trueheal/all those other OP skills that the communes don't get. Please? It'll make the game balanced, honest!
Forren2007-01-10 04:39:41
Maelstrom-Fury-Pollute are roughly equal.
Hailstorm does a bit more than boulderblast, but Geo demesne >>>> Aqua demesne for damage.

But Aqua demesne >>> Geo demesne for healing. So, the geos need a good healing ability, right? Sorry, that's just faulty logic

You all JUST HAD TO TEAR OFF THAT BANDAGE
It is going to get even worse now before it heals

I think Forren meant it makes up for the fact Boulderblast is a bit weak.
And as Vix and others said, if you want to nerf Flow, offer something so their skillset is not useless?

beckon empress hailstorm all have ways to be stopped. Shield! I know it's a really high skill and hard to master, but with a little practice I'm sure you can do it.
Truheal has been nerfed twice, it didn't need to be reduced at all to begin with. It's fine, always has been.
Hazar2007-01-10 05:01:37
You can shield against flow, too.
And this belongs in Idiots like the rest of its ilk.

Forren, as I've said before.. Hailstorm=Boulderblast+Geo-demesne in your logic... But obviously, hailstorm isn't a 1v1 skill it's a group skill... now lets look at it this way.. 5 Hailstorm>>>>>5 Boulderblast+ 1 Geo-Demesne
Same thing with Staff of course...
Okay? They need to do much more similar levels of damage.. Aqua damage is quite imbalancing in group combat.. Not to mention that Geo-damage is on a tick, negated by lust/shield etc. etc.
Hard to argue that aqua damage equates to geo damage... Aqua hindering is almost as good as geo.. and I think that hunger needs to be tweaked a bit too maybe...
Oh, and leave flow as it is.. Having the enemy come to you is MUCH beetter for you than having yourself being summoned out of the group by summon/empress etc. then there is group damage that can't be argued to be even.
PLEASE Keep diversity. Don't remove/nerf flow, tis fine as is (I don't even have it and I'm arguing for it okayyy!!?)

I think flow is underpowered too. Flow should have the option of stunning the person you flow to so they're unable to do anything while the zergs kill them. This is of course in addition to being continent-wide and working regardless of forest type.

you can't shield against flow. If we step in, shield-you can still flow.
Sylphas2007-01-10 05:33:10
You shield, they flow, the zerg bounces off your shield. Then your group hailstorms them while they're off balance.
Seriously, stop bitching. I'm so glad I'm a bard now. Nature seriously blows, and I hate being stuck with useless skillsets.
