Revenge

Almost 3 weeks ago I was jumped by my enemies in a parking lot and stabbed 7 times by 10-15 guys. After driving myself to the ER of the hospital, I had lost more then half my blood. The mere fact that I had survived this near fatal attack has left me much less upset.

But that doesn't mean I'm not out to get even. They tried to kill me and I'm going to return the favor. Revenge is a bitch and they should of killed me when they had the chance.

The reason I'm ranting on these forums is because I don't use any other forum, and ever since I was injured I've been on Lusternia much more.

Lemme finish with this quote:

"Revenge is sweet and not fattening."
- Alfred Hitchcock

Thank goodness you survived.

But I dont think you should take revenge.. just not the greatest idea in the long run. unsure.gif

Um, is the top part of the post real, because it seems a little, well, odd...
(and if it is, well I agree with Diamondais, revenge (unless you plan on getting them arrested), not good)
Aiakon2007-01-11 23:17:26
What I don't get is this bit. How did you get stabbed seven times by ten to fifteen guys. Did they gather in groups of two to hold the knife together?

If this is a serious story, I apologise for being flippant. As it reads like a film script, I'm assuming it's not.

Edit: Actually.. no I don't.. not really. I'm sorry - obviously - that you've were hurt (if you were), but I feel that this sort of melodramatic revenge crap belongs in the films and no where else. It seems dreadfully adolescent and immature, and frankly you'd be better off calling the police and not putting yourself into a position where you risk 25+ years in jail.
Veonira2007-01-11 23:43:27
I'm terribly sorry that happened to you.

But I have to agree with Aiakon, Mirk and Diamondais that you shouldn't go after "revenge". If you really want revenge, just call the cops, I'd assume you know who they are and have the hospital records. I don't think it's worth endangering yourself or risking jail time just for your honor or your need to have revenge. Get revenge the smart way and be the better person I suppose. I don't think eye for an eye is the best solution.

Mm,

Real life drama tends to be senseless. Anyways, make a report to the police. Sit down and cool down. Don't make any action while you are angry. This makes for foolish mistakes to be made. Even if it happened a few weeks ago, getting angry by it's mere thought can be hazardous.

In my professional opinion, attacking a group of several foes is unadvised. Taking each one down is also not advised. They will make the connection rather quickly and hunt you down. Not to mention you will leave lots of evidence behind, if not increasing each time you attack one.

Professional Opinion: Murder is bad for your health almost as bad as it is for theirs. Even if you don't get caught or murdered back, part of you will always remember and it will torment you. You tend to lose a part of your humanity when you murder.

To be a bit more specific, 3 guys came at me with a knife, then another group of about 10 (didn't really have time to count) came from around the corner, it all happened really fast. Within minutes I was laying in a pool of blood and they had already run off. They stabbed me twice near my kidney, twice on my shoulder, twice on my right leg, and once on my left leg.

I'm sorry if it sounds immature and criminal like, but as much as I am calm about the situation, I'm not going to let something like this blow over.
Unknown2007-01-11 23:55:42
Waitwaitwait, so they stabbed you, and now you want to cause them as much pain/death as possible because of this? What happened to: A: Common sense (Oh, yeah, he passed on. Ignore that.) B: Morals or C: Anger management?

Aiakon pretty much hit the nail on the head. You're totally overreacting.

EDIT: Also, the fact that you have "enemies" who would do that is... worrying.
Unknown2007-01-12 00:00:43
I don't think 'over reacting' is the right way to coin how he's feeling... in his position I'd probably want revenge too, and lots of it. What those people did was not only terrible but cowardly.

But you have to consider the consequences. Death, or prison, or living in hiding or constant fear, will it be worth the satisfaction? As Veo said there are always other forms of vengeance.
Unknown2007-01-12 00:01:43
That's more or less what I meant. By "over-reacting" I meant doing something rash that you'll regret, this act being done because you are understandably angry with the party or parties to which you are taking revenge upon.

EDIT: And why do I start to sound more like a legal document as it gets closer to midnight? unsure.gif
Unknown2007-01-12 00:04:11
First question that comes to mind is, why do you have criminals as enemies.

Anyway, revenge can be sweet. Whether you feel satisfied or broken afterwards, that depends on a person. But really, I don't think you can pull that off. Seems to me like you're either going to get killed, or destroy your life for good.

I'd really recommend either reporting to the police (I don't know how effective police is where you live, i.e. if it won't put you in even more danger), or leaving it all behind you and cutting all ties, if that's a possibility.
In other words, be smart, value your life and well-being.
Noola2007-01-12 00:10:28
Are you in a gang or something?

Anyway, I'm throwing in with eveyrone who's said that revenge is not the way to go. It won't accomplish anything. They won't be scared off from doing anything to you, they won't step back and say "Wow. That guy showed us. We were wrong to mess with him.", they'll only hit you back harder in return. That's how revenge works. Go to the cops.
Kharaen2007-01-12 00:46:16
Er...Karrah?

I suggest that instead of getting back at them, that you report the incident to the police. Since you likely know them, identifying them shouldn't be a problem, and they could all go to jail for attempted murder. Frankly, putting them behind bars would be sweeter revenge then getting yourself behind bars.
Unknown2007-01-12 02:00:47
Um, gah.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I agree with everyone that says revenge (in this case) will probably only lead to worse things. Unless, that is, you ruin their lives in subtler ways...
Unknown2007-01-12 02:38:31
Just don't get yourself killed.
Jillian2007-01-12 03:27:32
Pretty much agreeing with everyone that first off you should seek out the police. It's quite obvious to tell it has been an intense experience for you, perhaps even traumatising, and talking about revenge in the manner that you do only makes me believe that more. You should really consider talking to your doctor about it and perhaps find some help. It sounds cliche and perhaps it also it but I think this has left more than physical wounds and you should find people to talk to about it. If you don't have family or friends who can help you with it, talk to your doctor for sure. Going to sound cheesy once again, but people often worry way to little of the mental impact of such situations.

I'm sorry this happened to you, I don't know the whole story around it, but it's aweful. Keep voilence to games and out of the real world is my oppinion on the matter.
Unknown2007-01-12 03:28:20
Why do you have enemies?
Richter2007-01-12 03:51:02
I'm kind of stuck on this whole "enemies" thing too.

Anyway. Blow up their cars. Screwdrdiver, rag, butane lighter.
Arkzrael2007-01-12 05:33:18
People who do things like that, frankly, make me sick. I'm sorry to hear such a thing has happened to you, and even sorrier that they have so obviously not been incarcerated for it. Crime...well, there's some that's funny, some that's not, some that's justified, and some that isn't. Random stabbings are not justified. I'd have to say that because I have a rather violent background...I'd be out for revenge too. Unfortunately, in my case, I don't own a gun, and my multitude of swords are blunted with caps for tournament...so I'd be rather hard pressed for revenge other than fists. But if it is revenge you wish, then revenge you will carry out. If you must, at least think it out and make it an intelligent revenge, as mindless crime does not justify mindless crime.
Sylphas2007-01-12 06:27:55
10-15 of them to stab one guy? Talk about overkill.

One guy, I can see revenge. A dozen? Screw that, do it the legal way. You can't take them as a group, and if you get one, you're in for more hurt from the rest. Also, it's pretty shitty revenge if you just end up in prison or something for it.
