Basically, I find myself trying to find out the formulae used to calculate various things on Lusternia, such as max health, how much MajorThird heals, etc. either because I needed them for codng purposes, or simply because I wanted to hoard them incase they came in handy. Daermon/Kromsh gave me a link to a site which has calculators for various Lusternian things, which I am currently trying to extract the mathematics in a relatively more human-readable form. However, it beng midnight, I've only got the first one.

The formula used to calculate maximum health/mana/ego, depending on con/int/cha and level, respectively, is...

((3s+4)l)+300
Where "s" is the corresponding stat and "l" is the character's level. (Could someone tell me if I've got the mathematical notation for that wrong)

Anyway, please feel free to post other formulae you may have uncovered, or findings that may help the formula-finders test their theories.

EDIT: Also, if this thread takes off, pinning it would be great.

I'd actualyl be very interested in the strength vs close combat damage

As a commune warrior, you are best suited to testing that. Record hits with no buffs, then put up bear and test, then lower bear and put up flex and test, then put bear back and test. Those numbers, of a hit at strength 12, 13, 14, and 15, should be very useful. Also, you may wish to try weapons of varying damage stats. Once you have tested those, post the numbers here, and we can try to work out a formula of how much strength effects the damage.

That formula is off, by about 200 when I did my path. Of course I am not a big math person so I have no idea where the exact problem is...

But from what I see, that is a linear equation, where as health gain is on a curve... so that equation will never work.

The formula works for the character I'm on at the moment.

Works for me too.

What makes you believe health gain is on a curve?
Malarious2007-01-24 07:14:01
That is the correct formula actually.. you may be missing something but that is correct (check for non standard gains.. like buffs).. I may post the formula for sipping if anyone is interested

I'd love to know the exp formula.

I'd love to know the exp formula.

If you mean experience amount from killing creatures of different strengths, as a demigod, you're best suited to figuring this out, as you get an actual experience number when you kill something, the rest of us just get a fraction of a percent, making it nigh impossible to calcuate. Also, it assumes that all creatures of a given consider level give the same amount, which doesn't seem all that likely to me.

If you mean how much experience for each level, get some numbers for various creatures from being all demigoddess, and then level a newbie on them and see how much it takes at each level tongue.gif
Gandal2007-01-24 23:58:39
Amount of exp points certain creatures get and how many points to gain until next level (I want this in SCORE).
Acrune2007-01-25 03:05:11
I used to want that, but I think it'd kind of ruin the immersion a little, though I guess I'd get used to it.
Gandal2007-01-25 03:39:28
Imo, percentages aren't any better.

I'd argue that they're far better, just not perfect.
Sylphas2007-01-25 06:33:44
That health/mana/ego formula has worked perfectly for me for close to seven years now, in Achaea, Aetolia, and Lusternia, at different levels, as different races, with different buffs. You'll need some pretty solid data to convince me health isn't linear and described by that equation.
Unknown2007-01-28 19:38:01
That equation works fine, trust me, I've used it with various buffs, levels, etc.

I think where Nementh got confused was that the amount added per level changes depending on the max health that was before, or something like that. Technically, it's still not a curve.
Unknown2007-01-28 19:40:37
Personally, I'm looking for somebody to test/help me test the formula for working out how much MajorThird heals, taking into account aptitude, max health, intelligence and charisma, (assuming that they're all included in the formula somewhere) and anything else that might fall into the calculation.

please email me any of your findings i'm currently creating a website

anyone reading this if you could please check out this segment of my website, its a lesson calculator it will be the same format for other skills as well please check it out and email me with comments and suggestions
