I feel like there's this magical place full of experience-loaded bunnies that everybody knows about except me. Okay, maybe not. But for a while now, options for gaining experience seem very limited. My daily routines basically consist of: log in, wait a bit to see if there's a raid, check gorgogs (maybe, it's like 90% bashed out whenver I go there), log out. Oh, and I'm still level 79 (68%), been sitting there for quite a while (I got there mostly by gorgogs, and hammerheads when I was still Aqua). Reaching 80 is a goal for me and I want to do that before moving onto other activites again (and then bash up to Titan someday, yay)
Here are the places I (used to) go to:
- gorgogs (lucky if I can get half the gorgogs before someone comes in and finishes them off)
- candy land (so lonely...)
- snow valley (annoying)
- presidio (more for amusement than real exp gain)
edit: - oh yeah and astral (a pain to get to, can't handle coalesced mobs effectively yet)
- ... that's all
And even then I usually get only 2% a run. Trill Cantor, influencing is okay but takes a loong time (13 charity for a single denizen from Crumkindivia), I've learned to cope with the crappy-ish stats and health. I've been tempted to try Shallach, but I'd probably lose more than gain. So... what am I missing, or is this the way it's supposed to be now?

Monks in Tosha sounds good... or just random killing. Sabre-Tooths, Moose, Sharks, Octopus, Mantas, Rockeaters, etc. Not much but at least you're doing something and it'll add up little by little.

Learn to suck less, and hit up astral Trill's gonna be rough if you ever want to get far past 80, hit and fly if you have to, I've had good luck with mitrans and eagles (they fly too though, careful), and fesixes, though that sphere is dead last I checked.

Freaks and spiders in the Observatory are good exp, and drop good gold.
Merians, gorgogs, and sharks all respawn quick, good exp, and great gold.
Cankermore allisaurs if you want to go to an aetherbubble.
Dramube's got a few things to kill, but the trip there isn't really worth it unless you're trying to go for the honours quest.

I find hit-and-fly tactics work well on astral as a faeling, so as a trill you should be able to get by fine. Just make sure the room you're in is not indoors.
Anarias2007-01-12 07:45:26
13 influences on a single denizen is hardly bad. Have you got High Magic? Evoke Netzach and you should be fine to influence about anything. I had 13 charisma for a while and I still influenced the same things I influence now at 16-17 charisma.
Richter2007-01-12 08:01:26
I hit that level 80 barrier too, and it seems to take a half hour to get 1% while bashing now.
As for debating, 13 isn't terrible, if you're going after guards. It takes me nine right now, I think.

Human ftw. Come back Seal of Harmony!! We miss you.

For those levels i recomend:
Astral - buy that can be too hard for some, and wont get that much exp if you are killing slow with hit and fly tactic.
Lower levels of catacumbs = sweet gold exp not as good as on astral, cant use hit and fly tactic but still a little easier then linked creatures on astral
Seas: sharks are good exp and nice gold if sold on arysian island
Gorgogs and gorgogs quest - nice gold, exp and karma
Snow Valley = mammoths, cats, hares (also harest and rabbits from other valleys, those are easy gold) Spirit Cat quest and eagles if you can fly. Quite nice exp and gold
Ur'deads in catacumbs best exp on prime, but do not go there without gem of cloaking
Check for Krokanis from time to time, not so good exp but sweet gold
Spiders and crytalline freaks in Observatory
Maybe sandojins on desert too
And there are always some honors quest to do
No idea about Presidio and Mount Zoaka or Tomborolla valley and no idea about influencing

Have to agree here. Also seems I don't have to complain yet about exp being slow at 66 *blinks eyes* I guess alternatively if the higher area's are all bashes out, you could see if anyone is doing anything in the lower level area's you used to go to and quickly run through them. Better than nothing after all
Acrune2007-01-12 16:12:25
Human rocks, I can gain about 1% every 10 minutes at level 88 on astral, which isn't bad for a Celestine
Veonira2007-01-12 16:52:10
For what I've experienced, bashing level 80/81 so far is a good deal faster than 79. I don't know if it's the crits or what, but I enjoy it.
But with that said I'm stuck halfway through level 81, I keep getting 10% xp then going on a raid and losing it all. *sniffle*

Genevieve2007-01-12 20:18:16
I'm experiencing the exact same thing as Veonira, but I was able to make a little bit of progress yesterday. It was odd, I gained 60% in level 80 one day, and then promptly got stuck.
Daganev2007-01-12 20:32:35
With every possible Influencing boost available, and 20 Charisma, I can't influence the guards for less than 8 hits.
If you are doing 9 hits on guards without artifacts I think you've maximized your potential.

Are guards really that great for experience? I actually do relatively well even in Tosha at level 78, I just haven't motivated myself to get out and do it much. Haven't spent much time on the guards, just because I only have two of the empowering abilities and three begging, so I can beg more easily. Might learn more soon, though.
Asarnil2007-01-13 09:57:30
Poor little non-human non-Magnagorans. Just by farming spectre isle repeatedly (and turning in the quest parts) its easy to rake in 4-5% at L80-81 every trip with virtually no effort required.
Unknown2007-01-13 17:20:56
Mostly Gorgogs, Ur'Dead and the occasional Grey Moors here. Just hit level 82, and I'm still getting about 4% an hour when bashing hard, nonstop. Could kinda use a crit artie though...
Oh yah, and I miss the old candyland. I never saw anything about it, but I'm pretty sure it got nerfed. It used to be that killing all the gingerbread (a twenty minute task) men would be about 6% at like level 79. Now they are just like astral, but longer repop.
Poor non Magnagorans in general, without Catacombs and Ur'Dead. Oh well, not like anyone tries to keep me out anymore since I'm so friendly now (and I guess enemied to every place in the Basin)

To be fair mags have less chance of bashing ur'dead than anyone else, and everyone can get to the catacombs fairly easily anyway.
