Aesyra and I actually did a bit of testing a little while back on precisely this question. Our results: At 0 lessons into magic, 15 lessons into magic, and 30 lessons into magic, Aesyra's lash did precisely the same amount. I didn't feel like wasting more lessons on it at that point. blush.gif

30 lessons isn't exactly very much. Especially not enough to make such a huge jump of logic like that.

Here's the exact numbers. Keep in mind that I have some significant mana regeneration, especially since we were testing in Serenwilde, so the numbers which are lower are presumably due to that. If the difference between trans and inept magic were 25%, I'd expect to see at least 3 less damage on the normal hits between 0 and 30 lessons of Magic.

0 Magic
4026-3324=702
3324-2622=702
3633-3086=547
3086-2384=702
3100-2398=702
3396-2694=702
3385-2683=702

15 Magic
4026-3324=702
3324-2697=627
3413-2711=702
3705-3083=622
3083-2456=627

30 Magic
4026-3324=702
3324-2697=627
3582-2880=702
3642-2940=702
3942-3240=702

Funny enough but even 15 or 30 lessons into magic making you anything but inpet shows a noticeable difference to succumb.

I think it works off of lesson volume rather than skillrank.

Winner. Resilience and Magic both work this way, as well as all the resistance abilities of other realms.

Which is why I only estimated that if trans vs inept magic is 25% resistance, that the difference should've been 3 or so. If I were working from skillrank instead of lesson count, it would've been much higher.
