Please wait and see who the new leader will be and how he or she can help pull the guild together before you declare the Cacophony a "crash and burn" failure. I believe any change in leadership, no matter the circumstances, can have a positive impact if the right spin and attitudes are present.

How has the Cacophony crashed and burned? It never got off the sodding runway. But anyway, it will be interesting to see if it can finally sort itself out now.

Have they had a GM yet that hasn't gotten bitched out for something or other?

Has any position of power or leadership in any organisation whatsoever?

I'm very sorry to see you go, though I never knew you or talked to you...and I think people who complained about what you did/didn't do should get something stuck up their behinds. They should've contested you instead of whine you out of the office. That's why guilds have elections, people!

And I agree, the Bards aren't doing so well. It's not only that our skills seem less powerful than the other classes (our music specializations are essentially relegated to support roles...and to this date I've only heard of one Bard who's done somewhat well in 1v1 combat, and that's Visaeris), but it's also () because the Bards are inextricably tied to RP, and to composition. No other class has such a high bond/requirement with the written arts. Normally, the library contests and I suppose Elcyrion's/Elostian's order are the only instances in when somebody would write, but these are all -voluntary-. Being in a Bardic guild, however, almost -necessitates- that you write poetry, or put on performances, etc. etc., all things that -require- a huge time investment (ultimately) and prevents people who want to bash/fight from doing so...

Bards, essentially, are catering only for those who want to devote a lot of time to something that has little reward other than RP-wise. But what can you do about that? We're bards...

And as a side note, Lysandus, if you quit, I will go and thwap you in game
