So maybe it was sweet justice to give her the seal instead.
That is so counter-productive and twisted, not even Lusternia's Admins could do it.

She's a level 1 novice in the Singers.
Who even submitted it for her? Or more, why didn't the divine at least -look- at who they were selecting to win. A little bit of bias isn't always a bad thing. That's just ridiculous. This is a prime example of why the system being used to select a divine is so incredibly lacking.

Her submission was selected due to a vote by the cartel members, however it was moreso because she was the only person who even bothered to try.
Shorlen2007-01-21 15:32:39
Her lastlogin is apparently 2-3 days ago. I hope she doesn't get deleted for inactivity before ever logging in again, that would just be dumb
Ildaudid2007-01-21 15:39:50
I hope she can survive astral, let alone Kaervas, Forren and Shammy

Then the cartel screwed up by sending in her submission rather than none at all, which is really what should have happened in that situation.

So because she's new or an alt she doesn't deserve the same chance as anyone else? Technically new players have the same chance at getting a some seals as anyone else.

Yes, that's exactly it, actually. This is the fate of the Fate-loving world in the balance and you guys just handed it to a child, as Terentia pointed out. Its stupid, irresponsible, and wholly OOC logic.

Or submitted an older design. I'm not quite sure why Saran insisted on a new design being submitted. But out of the the two tapestries made, Amyrasse's was the better, by far and large. It would have been really wrong not to vote for it. It was actually a tied vote though, but I was pretty adamant in seeing the superior design be submitted (woe on me now )
Wildecraft doesn't have many designs. It doesn't have many artisans. I'm one of them, but I have my own cartel, and am pressed with designing private items for it rather then for the local cartel run by Saran. Plus I vowed I'd never submit anything for Wildecraft while Saran was TM But yeah, only two 'new' designs submitted and to be voted on for the Beauty seal challenge in Wildecraft.
Unknown2007-01-21 15:52:47
There really needed to be an hour requirement to win first place in the challenges, just like for being a mentor, or applying to be a guide or an eph or anything else.

Don't think that's necessary. After all, look at all the other winners - established players.

The problem is I don't actually know who submitted any of the other designs bar Ialies, did you really want to see the fighting over who actually designed what if they were even active enough to do so?
And not submitting is kinda pathetic, Sarans job is really just to submit designs thats all there is to it. This was done in the fairest manner possible, I belive Linwe actually asked all of Serenwilde to send in designs with a list of the trademasters.
At any rate had it not been submitted it would have most likely given another person who I really don't want to see ascend the chance to do so. (this list includes anyone who is just going for the seal and doesn't want to ascend)

The contests are stupid, irresponsible, and wholly OOC anyway, so what's the matter?
Richter2007-01-21 20:14:04
I would't go that far, but they don't all -really- make sense, considering the person is supposed to save the world.
Genos2007-01-21 20:16:35
Yeah I'm really surprised they let Amarysse win, that was kind of... meh.

Debatable.
Estarra2007-01-21 20:30:33
FYI, we decided to do a blind judging to be as objective as possible, thus none of the judges knew who submitted what, and the admin who did know didn't judge. There was an uproar when it was revealed that a newbie won, and a huge debate on whether a newbie should receive the seal or not (you may have noticed a strangely long delay before winners were announced). Ultimately, since it was won legitimately, we decided to go ahead and allow it. Since it was a commune cartel who submitted the design, this actually bolstered the legitimacy of the candidate.
Verithrax2007-01-21 20:36:03
Exactly.
It's not the judges fault, it's Serenwilde's.

Leave it to Serenwilde to further endanger the world due to their silly ideas of "Freedom" and "Equality"
