Eh I'm still not that worried. The name goes down in history, that's all that matters.

Yeah but if you try to actually honours that person later and it won't work because they maybe never even bothered to register.. or someone else makes another character with that name later claiming to be the Amarysse that won when it's not even true.. That's why I'd like the char to be made permanent for winning. I still remember what happened when Aether suicided.

I agree that the char should be permanent.

Aether was Paladin GM. For some reason that I've never found out about he suddenly decided to suicide. 'Vacant' positions didn't exist then (or were buggy) so a random noob was made GM over night and suddenly sat on the Star Council.
What really upset most people in Celest though was that -someone- made a char named 'Aether'. We were still all startled and confused about WTF had just happened when suddenly that Aether newbie walks in and claims to be the real one. Needless to say he became small and green very quickly (I believe the real character of that person too, but no bet on that).
I'd be pisseth if the same happens with Amarysse, that a random person recreates the char after it was auto-deleted and claims her designs as her own (and winning the seal of beauty and whatnot).

After reading through all of these posts, and the uproar that's ensued, I would like to preface this response with an apology.
Yes, I am new, and to everyone who sees that as a mark against me, I beg your forgiveness. I understand completely why so many of you would be so upset that a near-novice would claim an honor that might well have gone to an older, more established player more experienced in the game and in the world itself. It was in no way my intention to "steal" from anyone, or detract from anyone else's enjoyment of Lusternia and the unique challenges its players face head-on.
That being said...
I do have previous experience with design in another IRE game- not Lusternia. I am not going to go dormant. I do not have an alt tucked away somewhere giggling about these happenings, and it is more than probable that I will be forgoing certain amenities in my real life in order to purchase enough credits to even survive on the Astral plane. I am fully aware of the honor and the responsibility that winning this Seal entails, and intend to take it quite seriously.
To those who have congratulated me and offered their assistance... Thank you, truly.

If that latter paragraph is true, then I don't really have any issues, novice or otherwise. It just seemed highly unlikely given reports of your being a level 1 novice.
EDIT: You don't actually need to be OOC credits to survive on Astral, by the way - you can get it easily with lessons from levelling. If you're going to try and go for it, you're much better off working on levelling yourself up to get more health and such, I reckon.
Gelo2007-01-22 12:39:27
Just dont go suddenly inactive and poof. The seal bearers hold a very important role in Lusternia's history. It would suck if someone just played with it to get credits.

The 'level 1' thing may have been my fault. Since I hadn't seen her in realm, I used the Lusternian website profile to look at her. This profile only updates when a motto/warcry is updated in game, and since she didn't have one, I'm guessing it showed her stats from soon after her creation. Meeting her in-game, she's definitely over atleast level 21.
Shorlen2007-01-22 12:53:34
I think most of us were just worried that you weren't planning on seriously playing Lusternia, being a couple day old novice who hadn't logged in for three days. It's very common for people to vanish after trying out the game, deciding they didn't terribly enjoy it and not ever coming back. Most of us who posted here (though sadly not all) were just worried that had happened. I, certainly, am glad that is not the case.

I'm glad you are real and not some prankster's joke. I did get a few credits from second place, so I can spot you some so you can survive on astral.
Problem is, you aren't going to survive the critters up there, or the demigods and titans with the other seals
But congrats, you're real so I don't feel so bad!

Firstly, congratulations on winning the design competition; I can see why you ranked so highly.
Where participating in the Final Trial is concerned, it's your decision to make. Being new, there's the possibility that, at the time of submission, you weren't fully aware of what winning the seal would entail. If that was indeed the case, then I don't believe that you should be obligated to participate in what will essentially be an exciting, but very long, very bloody, game of 'keep away', particularly if it will cost you a fair amount of money to do so.
Irrespective of this, the situation provides wonderful roleplay for your character, and, IC, she's as entitled to compete as any seal-holder. OOC, however, I imagine that quite a few players will find it difficult to support for a roleplay-orientated position, someone who, by virtue of being quite new, is likely not to be as conversant with the game's history and resultant political structure as some of the other contenders.

Yeah I was just worried you were some random alt and I thought the whole thing was just rather weird. Anyways, congrats on getting the seal the design was really well done.
