no guild in lusternia is overwhelmingly cheerful.

My personal experience forces me to disagree. Some guilds used to be pretty laidback in the past, some are in the present. Maybe not everyone in them is so carefree, but there's a number of individuals who are, sometimes even too big a number.

Just because a world is dark and rather gritty, it doesn't mean there aren't cheerful people around. For example, OUR real world is rather dark and gritty if you think about it. Yet, lighthearted people still exist somehow - some of them are even aware of the dangers and darker sides of the world.

Being skyclad is fine in Seren (unless you act like a slut). closedeyes.gif

You can be a cheerful and social person no matter which guild are you in. Geomancers (Reiha is an example, although a bit too extreme), Serenguard, Celestines, Shadowdancers - they all accept people who aren't heavy-minded and gloomy! Really!

*peer* I guess I should take that as a compliment? tongue.gif

And I got away with being a drunkard in the Aquamancers, but I was a lowish position - I think I left when I was GR2 and CR4. However, I kept that drunkeness in Deepnight, out of sight. Ah, the days when Jaskata and Reiha would gather novics to play a game of ToD and drink to their heart's content. Reiha used to have the world's highest alcohol tolerance! drinkbuds.gif

Yeah... There's nothing wrong with drinking or being drunk or partying. It's just when you expect to be able to do so at your city/commune's nexus while slurring nonsense over your city/guild's channel that people start to react badly. And you can do that, you should just expect there to be consequences like getting yelled at, disfavoured, killed (depending on the org), etc.

Hmm if you do want a warrior type guild, I'm not sure what to recommend, though honestly I doubt the Ur'Guard or the EbonGuard are the best party people, for lengthy periods.

However, the Celestines are one of the most fun guilds around!!

We have prayer meetings, tea with biscuits, nail painting, sewing classes, debates on theology (Which Path is Great?/Healing Tarot or Astrology?) and plain debating, we also read scriptures every now and then! FUNFUNFUN!!! biggrin.gif

Of course these are the ideal activities I wouldve wanted to accomplish within the guild on a regular basis given that Celestia is not being raided, or we are just too tired to do so after being raided.

On a more serious note the Celestines do provide a good oppurtunity to go out in combat, since our territories do not seem to lack raiding and defending action. In other words there is rarely a dull moment with the Celestines, though if you do not like dying too much, it really could be the pits.

Though we tend to be strict with certain issues regarding etiquette, we do know how to enjoy ourselves with quizzes and discussions, pertaining to the Supernals for example. It is a place where one can definately find friends you can bond with and have fun with (after dying together to raiders in Celestia for the Nth time, I'm pretty sure you'll bond)

Nihilists can be fun.. but you need the Rp for it or mostly the RP for it.. sure I enjoy eating angels and slaying most things that walk in the 'light'. But I still hug my family and laugh.. I am not a statue after all. I can get away with being odd and perky.. though NO SNUGGLING AT THE MEGALITH... unless you can run REALLY fast. Well have to watch the snuggles anyway.. hugging your mum and da wont get you in trouble or nothing.

However we are priests of Demon Lords... so we arent cheery really but we still joke around and I am working on makin em a tad more social.

And no.. if you like combat there is no shortage.. I could bring any entourage before Champ and I still went on every raid I could. So boredom wouldnt be an issue.
