Magnagora was the only City by the looks of it that didn't, Serenwilde didn't as well. Might not have been one in Gloriana. No idea on Ackleberry.
Well, the Serenguard was founded after the whole Gruttina thingie, so I think that was After the taint.. so I would suppose that there was no Warrior Guild for the comunes...

Actually, I think the Ur'Guard were the elite, and the paladins were the... I don't know, not elite? -That's- why he took them up.
And we already had one alternate reality game come out... it was called Aetolia.

The paladins were like the royal home guard sorta thing, they were the merian elite who protected the palaces and guarding royal dances and big processions with shiny armour and prettyness, the Ur'Guard were the shock troopers, basically the heavy squad who was sent everywhere to deal with anything. They were both elite just he paladins were fancy and elite and the ur'guard were just elite.

Why? It really turned out to be that way.
Gwylifar2007-01-26 21:38:42
Because I like mine a lot lot better. I think it makes a better story and also gives the modern Serenguard a much clearer and more RP-encouraging sense of purpose.
Since Gwylifar is long gone from the game, I can continue to enjoy my delusional insistence on the "better" story.

Nope, Old Celest is now Spectre Isle.

Well, I was on the Summer Court. Viravain even summoned me to the Ravenwood and ordered me to pull Rowena's eyes out to get her to give up the secrets of Night. (I never did, though.)
But this is just one of the places I disagree with the admin, that's all. I think the story they ended up with for the Serenguard, as much of it as I heard, is a bad idea. I can see how it appealed to them, but I think they didn't think it through far enough.
Mind you, I agree with the admin on 90% of things, and think they've done a fantastic job with a lot of it. But there've always been places I think they went the wrong way. My failure is the same as many others -- I talked too much about the 10% and not enough about the 90%.

Defy the laws of physics, astronomy, and common sense by always rising at sunset and setting at moonrise regardless of phase, just to annoy people.

I do hope this isn't considered thread necromancy, but I just reread my research notes and felt the need to blab. The ur'Guard were actually part of Magnagora - in fact, the Supreme Commander at the time of Project Cosmic Hope was Camilla d'Murani, and she sat on Magnagora's high council as a Vizier, along with the other two Guildmasters. She was extremely upset when such a huge fragment of the ur'Guard left to join Emperor Ladantine (NOT with her permission, or that of the Commandant), and dispatched another legion to find and punish the deserters.

I beg to differ.
During the peak of the Holy Celestine Empire, they were the shock troops
of the Empire sent out to keep the peace among the protectorates (unlike
the Paladins who were the elite guard kept close to the imperial capital).
After the Taint Wars, they chose to settle in Magnagora, embracing their
heritage as the chosen undead warriors of the Vernal God Urlach.
Directly from the HELP UR'GUARD file.
